Had a great experience with Apex building a small flight of concrete stairs in my converted garage apartment. They were quick, reliable and affordable. Thanks Apex!

Andrew and Felipe did 2 driveways and a walkway. They did it to my high expectations without arguing or questions. Their price on the project was very very reasonable for his high quality. Crew was fast and efficient with no delays. They finished the big job in 7 days. Great communication through out the project. He left me with a confident feeling that there would be no issues from start to finish. He did the job to code. His crew cleaned up with out leaving a mess after the job was done. The crew was very professional too. Andrew response to questions within an hour or within minutes. Hard to find Contractors that easy to work with and meeting my expectations at a great price. I can't say enough about Apex Design Concrete. I would use him again and recommend him to all my friends and family. Give Andrew a call, you won't regret it. He will try his best to beat or get close to other estimates without sacrificing quality of service. I posted a few pictures to give a gist of their work.

The new steps with railing. My dog Chief is very happy with the results too.

Beautiful job replacing wooden steps with high quality concrete and railing. Andrew's Apex Design Concrete is a top of the line professional, honest, on time, and he pays attention to details. Great communication throughout. Highly recommended.

After remodeling my whole house, I had limited budget for my back yard landscape project. I got several quotes and did not find out a comfortable company. Finally, I found Apex Design Concrete on Yelp. Andrew came and gave me a very reasonable price and professional design. He considered the slope, irrigation system, water drain and concrete level for future new addition project and shed in his design. The installation process was very smooth and the final result come out GREAT! I will also call him for redo my front yard and driveway soon because his high-quality job. Give him a call and you will know it.

Second project Apex Concrete Designs helped us with was our patio. It looks FANTASTIC. I am so happy with Andrew Franco ad his team. They gave me good ideas and made sure my walkway was designed as I asked. The crew left the site neat and distributed the dirt nicely. Payments were reasonable. No I need to get to work on the yard. Great job guys!

We used Andrew about a year ago to redo our driveway. He was very responsive and detail oriented. He came up with a lot of good design ideas and explain the different type of concrete and design. And I are the project all in all took about 3 weeks and he couldn't have streamlined it better. I was always concerned about the sloping up the driveway and water pooling (like how my old driveway was) but after this recent rain storm, his driveway held up and did exactly what he said it would do. Definitely redoing the driveway was one of the best decisions and it made my home look upgraded, refreshed, and elevated my property. We had a couple obstacles pop up throughout this process, including FedEx (thanks fedex...) stepping on our freshly paved cement, but Andrew and his crew quickly worked to repair the damages that were made to best of their ability. His price is relatively fair for the quality that he provided and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again in the future.

    Forms and rebar

We met with four cement contractors and chose Apex. Andrew was always prompt, professional, and so easy to talk to and work with. He takes the time to explain the concrete process and answered all our questions, never making us feel silly for not knowing what's involved. He will make recommendations if you want. Apex laid a split-level colored, stamped concrete patio with bullnose brick edge and it turned out great! Before the cement pour, Andrew checked if we wanted the shape/curve of the forms changed. His guys will change it to your total satisfaction- even if it's just for an inch! We love it. His guys Daniel and Jose were wonderful- very courteous, considerate, and did great work. We highly recommend Apex.

My Wife and I had been wanting to re-do our driveway for years, but were always hesitant to pull the trigger. We reached out to numerous concrete companies and never felt that "comfort" feeling. We had Apex Design come out and give us an estimate and we finally found that feeling we wanted. Apex was able to give us our dream driveway; cost was extremely aggressive, time was exactly what was quoted and the quality was perfect. I have recommended Apex to many friends and neighbors. Best decision ever to have Apex out for our driveway.

Ask the Community - Apex Design Concrete

Do you do driveway repairs? I'm hoping only to replace four square slabs that are cracked (about 50" x 50" each) Two though seem to be damaged by a tree root that has grown under it. I am not seeking to remove the root.

Hello, yes we would be glad to help with this project. We can remove the damaged squares & replace with new squares.

We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. We are wising Ivan to prosper in his business, and for you guys - wishing you to choose your masonry contractor wisely. Go Ivan's Masonry!

We got other bids on the project but none compared to the honest, straightforward communication we got with Eddie. We benefitted from his years of experience but also from his long-held contacts in the field. During the building process things came up like needing the footings for the posts of a pergola another contractor was going to build for us on top of the patio but he was out of the country at the time. Not a problem. Eddie had worked with him on previous projects and was able to get the footings and install them for us. Then we needed to make decisions regarding any electrical we wanted on and around the patio which needed to be encased in tubing with all the other underlayment and Eddie's electrician buddy came right away to help us so that our project didn't get delayed. We didn't work with an architect on this project. It was just me laying down a garden hose to visualize what a patio would look like and going over it with my husband. Getting the elevations right was tricky since we didn't want a railing to obstruct our view of the garden. Eddie was so helpful with this but he also has the smartest right-hand-man, I think his name is Manuel, who saved the day for me. I wanted to extend the patio out a certain way and in telling him what I envisioned he improved the design on the spot! He eliminated one of the steps transforming the design making it more seamless and elegant. A small thing and yet it was huge in the scope of things. Don't hesitate to have Monroe Masonry do your job. Your only problem might be that he'll be too booked with work when you call.

Except for the LIEN we got from the concrete pump company he used. This was after the fact of paying Edwin. It was unnecessary stress on my elderly family members. I had to get mad at Edwin for not paying his subcontractor which then affect us and our property. I would suggest to make sure he has current insurances and that all his sub contractors are paid before your final payment to him. So maybe get their phone numbers to verify first? What a terrible experience. The work was decent and is a 5 star. But the business ethic of getting his people paid and affect people's title of their property. Not ok! Zero stars for that. I don't want to hurt his business by giving just one star so I will give 3 of 5. UPDATED. REVIEW. Maybe I should lower the stars though because Edwin is saying he doesn't know anything about this which is now a bold face total lie and I'm gonna post photos of our text messages of him saying he's gonna clear it all up. Edwin, you should've just said yes you screwed up instead of trying to cover up your light now you should get less stars. Reply No, the text chain you are in that. Don't try to deny it because I can prove it if I open it up it will show your name Edwin. You'd be better off saying yeah you screwed up you're a human you're not perfect and just admit to it but now the people will see you're not honest and if you get the photo taken down since it's a real photo and a real text chain, I'm sure I can get it back up You are the contractor who holds the license who signed the project contract, who agreed to make sure everything runs smoothly and you're the one who carries supposedly Insurance for that You should actually be sued for the situation because you cause two elderly people major stress and compromise their title to the property. Shame on you.

The problems started soon after when some touch up work needed to be done from damage caused by another contractor. We never expected them to fix it for free as the other contractor was going to pay for it. Still, Manny went in a tirade with my wife seriously disrespecting her and giving her grief. They did ultimately come out to make the repairs at no charge. Fast forward to now. We had some lights that burnt out needing to be replaced, we wanted the pavers power washed and resealed, and there were a handful of pavers that needed to be reattached... nothing major. My wife wanted to give Manny another chance as they did the original work. She called him and told him what needed to be done. He said text the address and he will let her know when he can come by to look at it. She did and we never heard back. She contacted him again a few days later and asked what happened, got excuses. A day and time were set. The day comes, and I have taken off work. He texts her in the morning saying he's stuck on a job far away and can't make it. The day is rescheduled. The next scheduled day comes, I take off work again, the time comes and goes and no Manny. After waiting 2 hours, my wife texted him. He read the message a few minutes later and never answered back. That was days ago, and we have still never heard back from him. Keep in mind, this is how he is treating an existing customer who has previously paid him 10's of thousands of dollars. You be the judge. I am giving the original work 3.5 and everything since 0, so I am being generous with the 2 rating. To Manny's response... I have the off centered fire place and lines not lining up on the walkway... not my imagination. We also still have your insulting messages from 10 years ago. Finally, you have time to read and give a long response to this review from Mexico, but you don't have time for a quick phone call or text saying an emergency came up and you can't make it. I don't think so. You keep saying "we", but this has all been you personally. Not an employee, not Crown Pavers... you. As for problems during the job 10 years ago, also not true. The problems only started when we called you about the repairs which again the contractor was going to pay for.

We would need a licensed contractor who could work within the City of Alhambra's public-right-of-way. We started calling for quotes in early April of 2014 and A.F.R. Masonry, Alex Diaz, gave us our second lowest bid out of 6 bids. Alex was the only contractor who said he would honor his bid longer than 60 days. The City of Alhambra would definitely need more than 60 days to complete the relocation of a water meter that was in the way of a new driveway approach. I liked the fact that Alex said he had his own digger (to break and haul concrete) and he was based locally in El Monte. His bid price was a definite draw (one of our highest bids from another general contractor was more than triple the amount of Alex's). So after the water meter was relocated we called Alex and he said he was available to do our job within two weeks and could complete the job in approximately 6 working days. The job is just finishing up today and I just had to write up this review. I have been waiting a long time to be able to drive into my driveway without hitting my tires on the curb face. The new no frills driveway is so much more pleasant to look at then our old cracked and patched driveway. The only thing that other homeowners might have an issue with would be that during the construction, the job-site (my yard) was left with construction materials overnight. But I am definitely fine with dealing with unsightly construction materials overnight during construction for Alex's bid price. It all gets cleaned-up in the end. The work was done on time and on budget! Alex did not complain about having to deal with the large magnolia tree roots adjacent to the driveway approach. He listened to our concerns and made sure they were addressed. The craftsmanship of the concrete work with proper forms, slopes, and finish was definitely on point.
