We found Dr. Hoy through www.completeconcussions.com after not being satisfied with the diagnosis (or lack thereof) from the hospital and our daughters PCP. We were certain based on her injury and symptoms that she sustained a concussion and we didn't want to risk returning her to normal activities prematurely. Unfortunately, most concussions do not appear on CT scans or traditional screening methods so it was our responsibility to seek alternative professional guidance. Dr. Hoy is fantastic! He connected with us as a family which is not the typical healthcare environment. He has a very friendly demeanor and we enjoyed every office visit. I recently had an MRI on my spine at the suggestion of Dr. Hoy. He felt we needed some additional data since his adjustments were only giving me temporary relief. His judgement was that I probably had age related arthritis and disk bulging but wanted definitive information. It turns out he was exactly correct in his assessment once I received the MRI results. He is now recommending a multi tiered solution that should give me maximum relief. I am a dental hygienist, and unfortunately I pretzeled myself for years at work resulting in chronic back pain. I was referred to Dr. Moore by a co-worker, and he was able to measurably reduce the pain in my back, finally. Fast forward I was a bit apprehensive when I was told that Dr. Hoy would be caring for me moving forward. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate Dr. Hoy. His calm and nurturing demeanor during my most recent back injury was a breath of fresh air. I was in bed for 2 days not being able to lift my leg without excruciating pain. Got early appointment with Dr Moore. Since my insurance didn't cover it, I just paid with cash. It is affordable and the staff, Andrea, is very friendly. Dr Moores office moved to the second floor. I went in and got seen right away without waiting for long. Almost felt asleep while laying on the massage bed to wait for my muscle got loosen up. Still can hear how my spine got aligned. I started going to Dr. Hoy when my previous chiropractor retired. I was a little skeptical at first since the previous doctor had helped me so much. However, Dr. Hoy picked right up and even added some additional treatments. Although I have really bad arthritis and other issues he has kept me moving and reduced pain with minimum meds...which is all I can hope for with my situation. I highly recommend Dr Hoy. I literally owe my life to Dr. Hoy at Confluence Chiropractic!!! He changed my life after suffering a devastated concussion over 4 years ago and unfortunately another concussion again one year ago. I had been to several doctors including medical neurologists, neuro-opthalmologists, ENT specialists, a neurofeedback specialist, hyperbaric chamber sessions, acupuncturists, cranio-sacral work, etc.. but continued to have headaches, visual processing issues, dizziness, sensitivity to light and sound and nervous system issues. It limited me in ALL aspects of my life. For years it has been difficult to to perform simple daily tasks. Something as simple as watching tv for more than a few minutes would trigger my symptoms like dizziness. Even going to the beach was a struggle due to the sound of the waves and the movement of the water. Everything felt like it was a sensory overload. Not to mention work was extremely difficult, using a computer or phone was extremely taxing and for years it has limited my ability to work. I found Dr. Hoy through the Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI) network that he is credentialed with. It's been since 2014 that I've seen Dr. Moore. He never disappoints when I visit. This past Sunday I started having back pain. I could walk around and do stuff. Enjoyed the superbowl game and did the dilly dilly. Anyways, on Monday night the pain was stronger. I could not move alot in bed. Sleepless in Santa Ana! By Tuesday morning, I was almost crawling like a turtoise. No bueno! Enough was enough. I stayed homw from work and rested. Tried to sleep but my movements in bed were minimal. This is one of very few places left where you feel like Dr. and staff really do care I've been an on/off patient here for about 2 years (depending on my pain/injury level). The front desk are well-established, warm, and very good @ what they do. ex: I had walked in for to schedule an appt. for the first time in 9 months, and they still remembered me by name An added bonus: Miriam is an exceptional massage therapist. Her petite frame is a facade, she's gives the BEST massages. I feel like a noodle by the time I'm outta' there. As chiropractic offices are known for firmer massages, this really is the way to go for a good strong massage. They're much cheaper to begin w/ + they never charge extra for a deep tissure massage like a dayspa would. I must point out that I really admire how well-rounded Dr. Moore is. Once a major league athlete himself, a molecular bio PhD student, and a regular chiropracter recruited for NFL teams today = that's pretty cool! And he has healed me mind & body. I have been cracked back in place and feel rejuvenated w/ each & every visit. What really struck was when I was going through a very personal struggle one time. As always, I was asked how I was & how was I feeling. I briefly explained that I was in fact pretty bad & what was happening. He dropped everything & was very concerned. What was supposed to be a regular visit turned into that + a good 20-30 minute pep talk! & to further, I felt comfortable as a patient explaining myself & listening, there was nothing inappropriate or weird about it. I went to Dr. Moore about 15 times. He himself is very nice but he was always in a huge rush and could not answer how long treatment would take, except that he always needed to see me again that week. So it seemed just like a money game instead of actually healing me. I also had terrible trouble with billing, even though I have insurance. When I started treatment my insurance didn't cover a certain procedure, which they explained to the office staff. However, I was told by the office staff they would do it anyways and not charge. The straw that broke the camels back is that after a disagreement about another billing issue, I was told they are going to go back and bill my insurance for all the free procedures. I don't know if this was some type of a threat, but my insurance isn't going to pay for it, and I'm sure not going to because they told me it was free. Either way, it wasn't professional for them to change their word like that. Although my deductible is small, my wife's chiropractor waves the deductible and is much nicer. I think there are many other doctors offices out there worth pursuing. read more
