Initially I came due to needing assistance with losing range of motion in my neck and having arm numbness, Dr. Yoon was incredibly transparent with the intake and the therapies he offered. He was honest as well letting me know that there is a chance he may not be able to help. Evidently, he helped return range of motion and I have continued to see him for my Migraine Maintenance as my neck is often a trigger for my migraines! I've been seeing Dr. Yoon for about three weeks now, going twice a week, and the improvement has been noticeable. Parking is easy and there's always spots available. Inside the office, it's clean, modern and it doesn't have the cold & emotionless atmosphere of a typical medical clinic. It has a warm and welcoming vibe, and they even have these little treats (i.e., mints, lifesavers, and cough drops). Best of all, they have hair ties. For all my ladies who go to chiro and/or massage appts, how many times have you forgotten to bring a hair tie/hair clip? I'm guilty! Anyways! Dr. Yoon and his staff are amazing. I was previously seeing a different chiropractor and didn't realize that I was treated like just a number. As a student who has been using microscopes for the last 6 years, it is very difficult to find a chiropractor who knows how to manage my treatment well. In terms of care, weekly treatments with Dr. Yoon have significantly decreased my neck and shoulder pain, and I find it much easier to resume tasks at work. I have had poor posture as a student, as well, but feel like it is gradually improving due to my ability to focus on it better after receiving treatment. I've seen a lot of different chiropractors in my 10 years here, about 4-5 different ones to be exact. All of them have been good but I think I noticed the most immediate difference with Dr. Yoon. I've had chronic headaches most of my life and usually when I go to a chiropractor, the headaches go away temporarily but it feels more like an adjustment to fix the existing headache vs a plan to prevent them. I've become pretty " in tune" with my body and this is the first time i've felt "right" vs just placated. I loved that I felt Dr. Yoon's plan was custom made for me, and it never felt like he was trying to get as many paid sessions from me that you sometimes feel with other chiropractors. He didn't even try to sell me a pillow! I think he also has the best blend of technology vs hands on approach. With a couple previous chiropractors, I was left to machines to do muscle relaxations and then stretching; the adjustment was probably only 2 minutes. With Dr. Yoon I get a combo of EMS and hands on massage before getting my adjustment. I highly recommend Dr. Yoon's practice! Began seeing Dr. Yoon after cervical spine stenosis, which caused arm and shoulder weakness. Pain in my neck and shoulder were immense in the beginning. Was taking 2-3 pain meds daily. After a month, was able to wean off all meds. Had one steroid course, that first month, and none since. Was advised surgery was best option. Was going to chiropractics 2 times a week, initially. Now, I go once every other week. I like that Dr. Yoon listens to my issues, and adjusts the program accordingly. I get the laser treatment and muscle stimulation with my adjustments. Every visit, they cater to which areas need work. When I was at my worst, my MD had prescribed meds and once a week PT. That was not nearly enough. We were traveling to Irvine to visit my son for a week. Right before we suppose to be back to the Bay Area, my wife developed a really back pain that she was not able to get up without my help. We were kind of desperate as we don't know anyone in the area. Fortunately, we looked up yelp for a licensed Chiropractor. From the patients post and office photos we went to Yoon Family Chiropractic. The office was clean and present. As we explained our situation as out of towner, Dr. Yoon was nice enough to squeeze in time to see my wife that day from his already full schedule. Dr. Yoon took his time to talk to my wife and explain her condition before he started the session. Treatments included electrical and laser on the muscle to increase blood circulation, muscle relaxation and reduce inflammation. After those treatments were done, Dr. Yoon did the adjustment from the neck to lower back. My wife felt instant relief on her lower back pain, she was a lot better than when she walked into Dr. Yoon's office. I recommend Dr.Yoon to anyone who is suffering from pain caused by bad posture and daily activities like long screen times. He actually spends a descent amount of time adjusting positions and hand massaging knots, unlike most chiropractors I've been to who basically use couple strokes of theragun and leave you under the laser machine for the rest of the session. I definitely enjoy his manual therapy the most and find it most effective for my pain. It has been almost three months since I started my treatment and the results are promising: my uneven, curved shoulders became even and are no longer hunched, my hyperextended back improved alleviating the intense back pain, and my pelvic pain has also improved. Dr.Yoon is more focused on long term plan for his patients than instant gratification of alleviating pain- for this reason he always recommends exercise over coming to his own chiro sessions. Although I am yet to follow his advice myself, it has positively influenced my perspective on taking care of my own body and health.
