This used to be a one pump fuel and bathroom stop. Now it's a small Chevron, and burger stand. The old fuel station is an ice cream shop and a fenced in lot of u haul trailers. I didn't check if it was the same family owners. The single cellular tower on the property that was an income source is still there. Bathrooms are clean and neat. Progress Update: They don't have burgers yet but are specializing in cold things like ice cream treats and the Favorite of the desert highway Traveler, Date Shakes made from date fruit from date trees grown in the desert. A family favorite for over 40 years. We ll be back soon M.

Missed the exit for Gila Bend 28 miles to the east. Got off here instead, not knowing what else was ahead - didn't want to chance it so reluctantly filled up for $4.99/gal for regular gas. Word to the wise, do your homework before hitting I-8. If you're in a bind, then get what you absolutely need if you have to get gas at this rip off gas station and fill up elsewhere for $3 and change down the highway. The Chevron in Gila Bend, 28 miles away, is $3.39/gal - not sure how the same gas magically costs $1.60/gal more 28 miles away. Even gas stations in CA or NY aren't this expensive. Price gouging ripoff. $125 for 25 gal of gas... unreal.

Jarred Thrifty's mint chip ice cream!!!

Honestly great stop. Do yourself a favor and take your stretch/snack/bathroom break here! Clean. Can confirm an old puppy behind the counter. & Caden (Kaden??) at the dessert cafe was nice and cool. He told us about the oldest train depot in the US that got relocated outside the stores. Selling jarred ice cream was his idea--inspired from his US travels. Only pieces of feedback is to add seat covers in bathrooms and yummier cones for ice cream. :) Will likely be stopping here on the way back.

What a great little gas station! Everything is clean and looks like it is a brand new store. Attendants were friendly and told me they were the 3rd generation to run the gas station. Great selection of snacks and drinks and clean bathrooms! They also recently opened an ice cream shop on the other side of the building. Would stop there again!

Road trips have enough surprises, I don't need my bathroom stop to be one of them. That's why…read morewhenever I see Love's travel stops, I'm pulling in. I couldn't even tell you whether the gas is the cheapest because that's honestly not always why I stop. I know they're going to be open, I know the employees are going to be friendly, and I know, without fail, the bathrooms are going to be clean. Not "pretty clean." Not "clean for a truck stop." The cleanest bathrooms of any travel stop, period. On this particular visit, the gas pumps were closed for construction, so if you're planning to fuel up, just be aware of that. I wasn't there for gas anyway, I stopped to use the restroom and was going to grab something afterward, only to realize I'd left my money behind. The gentleman working didn't make it awkward for even a second. He simply smiled, wished me safe travels, and told me to have a good evening. That's exactly why I keep choosing Love's. Spotless bathrooms, genuinely kind employees, and a level of consistency that's hard to find when you're on the road. Five stars every time.

Pulled into Love's Travel Stop in Gila Bend somewhere between "I need gas" and "I need to get out…read moreof this car for five minutes before I lose my mind," and this place hit perfectly. First impression, it's big. Wide open, easy to maneuver, no weird angles or tight turns. After hours on the road, that alone feels like a luxury. You don't have to think. You just pull in, find a pump, and breathe for a second. Inside is where it really stands out. It's clean. Not "someone wiped this down an hour ago" clean, but consistently maintained. Floors aren't sticky, shelves aren't wrecked, and everything feels like it's been looked after instead of just survived. Grabbed a coffee and something quick to eat, and it actually felt like there were options. Not just sad gas station food sitting under heat lamps. You can tell they expect people to stop here, not just pass through. Staff had that steady, road-tested energy. Friendly without overdoing it. Quick, efficient, a couple casual words exchanged, and you're on your way. Exactly what you want in a place like this. Bathrooms were the clincher. Clean, stocked, no hesitation walking in. If you've done enough highway driving, you know that's half the battle right there. This is one of those stops that resets you a bit. You walk out a little less tired, a little less annoyed at the road. Five stars. No question. If I'm coming through Gila Bend again, I'm not even considering anywhere else.
