On the very first night, I managed to get a brutal kink in my neck thanks to a questionable timeshare pillow. The pain and immobility were so bad my wife insisted I see a chiropractor. Even though they were out of network and I had to pay cash ($125 for the new patient assessment and $75 for the adjustment), it ended up being some of the best money I've ever spent. Dr. Tim was incredibly kind, thorough, and generous with his time. He didn't just focus on the immediate neck pain -- he took a deep dive into my history of injuries, mobility, and overall fitness goals. His approach felt truly holistic. After some time resting with CBD cream and a heating pad, he came back in and delivered what I can only describe as a "bomber" adjustment. The relief was so immediate and powerful I actually teared up. I told him, "I feel like I should give you a hug." With the calm confidence of someone who is one part Kurt Russell and one part martial arts sensei, he said, "Well, that's okay," and gave me a good‑natured embrace. I was able to see him again a few days later to reinforce the work before our 10‑hour drive back to Los Angeles, which made a huge difference. If I lived in Tahoe, I'd be in his office regularly. If you're visiting and something goes sideways with your back or neck, I can't recommend Dr. Tim and his wonderful staff highly enough. Next year I'll be back -- but since I'm over 40, I'll also be bringing my own pillow.

Shah called me right away and within an hour I was in Dr. Tim Schoeder's Office getting the care and healing I needed. No X-Ray's needed. Dr. Tim went right to work with a variety of modalities. His experience in Karate gives Dr. Tim an extra boost with his hands and the ability to seek, find and penetrate into those areas especially painful. I find myself compelled to offer this commentary on my experience at Tahoe Forest Hospital because…read moreI have read some of the reports and cannot believe those people were at the same facility. I am a 94-year-old male adult who believed himself to be in reasonable health for his age. I was visiting family at Donner Lake when I found myself short of breath and the left arm swollen beyond normal. My son drove me to TFH. I entered the emergency room and was immediately seated at the in-take desk. There were two other patients seated in the ER waiting area. My information was recorded quickly and efficiently. I was seated in the waiting area for about 5 minutes before being called to go to the treatment area. The staff helped me get to bed in the ER and shortly I was examined by Dr. Amy Little. We described all my symptoms and she ordered tests. About 20 minutes later she returned and very comprehensively explained that I had problems more serious than I had thought. More exams were ordered and treatment was initiated. Dr. Nicolas Vargas performed a thoracentesis on my left lung cavity and removed 1.15 liters of fluid I did not know was there. This was done in the ER with no pain at all. Dr. Haven Ritchie recommended I be admitted for an overnight stay to make sure there would be no complications from the procedure. She also carefuly outlined other issues about which she had concern in terms that I could understand. By late afternoon I was transferred to a room on the second floor. I was received by Nurse Anne and made most comfortable. I remained in the hospital for another day and a half while they were making sure it was safe for me to travel by air to my home in Arizona. During this time, I was being cared for by Dr. David Richie and Dr. Ann Little. At no time was I left I the dark about my condition. Nurse Anne was extremely attentive and there was nothing I needed that she did not supply immediately. She was the day nurse. I received the same quality care from the night nurse, Amy. I must mention that the quality of the food was excellent. It was more than I could eat and the nurses were very good to me, they allowed me to leave food on my plate. By the third day they had me up and walking in the hall. I was deemed eligible for discharge. The discharge activity was conducted very efficiently. I ruptured the anterior tibial tendon in my left foot playing pickleball…read more Following an MRI, I saw Dr. Dodd on a Friday morning for a consult and he was confident in telling me that he could repair the tendon with surgery. He got me scheduled for surgery the following Tuesday (amazing, right?) and the surgery went extremely well. I suffered virtually no pain following the surgery. After a week on crutches in a splint, I went for a post-op appointment and had the stitches removed and transitioned into a weight-bearing boot. I will be four weeks in the boot then six weeks of PT before being able to get back to playing pickleball. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dodd, his PA Gil and the entire staff at Tahoe Forest Orthopedics and Tahoe Forest PT. Dr. Dodd was great in explaining the surgical procedure and clearly has fantastic surgical skills. The folks at Tahoe Forest PT were able to immediately get me scheduled for twice-weekly PT sessions immediately following my post-op meeting with Dr. Dodd. I would highly recommend Tahoe Forest for any type of sports-related injuries. My entire experience has been amazing!
