Nowhere did they tell me they were gonna charge me an 18% tip. All I did was bring up a bag of packaged candy and they rang it up so we gave them a cash tip. Sweet Tooth Sweet Tooth I hear ya calling! Not the Netflix series but them teeth waiting to gnaw on some tastiness. Thank goodness for Kilwin's Chocolatier Shoppe being in the nearby vicinity. First off, can we just talk about St. Augustine for a second? This place is PHENOMENAL!!! Seriously, what a GEM of a town, loaded with beautiful beaches, historic landmarks and sights, with great dining, shopping, and yes... great treats! This shoppe is just off the main walkway and it caught my daughter's eye. She's a sucker for some tasty treats, and she was in the mood for something like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in the PNW. And it did not disappoint. We walked out with some chocolates, caramel apples, and the wife grabbed some fudge for the hotel room later. The aroma alone immediately put in mind of what Willy Wonka's factory must of smelt like with the caramel being pulled, the peanut brittle being hardened, and the chocolate tantalizing our heart's desires. It's in the popular St. George Street area and the smell of the treats fill the air with mouth-watering smells. Open late, Kilwin's is a nice stop after a meal or for an ice cream while walking around the area. I had the caramel apple, and it was fresh, sweet, and rich without being too. My cousin purchased a scoop of ice cream, which she loved. I would go again for sure. My only con is that it can be a bit pricey. read more

It was very busy on a Saturday night so it was a long line when we entered. It was a reasonable wait time considering the popularity. They had an efficient system and the line constantly moved so it didn't feel like people were standing around. It was worth the wait because the ice cream was fantastic. I don't like apple pie but I'm glad I decided to ask for a sample of their apple pie ice cream anyway. I originally came in for ice coffee but since I had to wait in the long line with people getting ice cream I figured I would at least get a sample. I didn't expect to love the apple pie ice cream and completely change my plan. I highly recommend that flavor. The small waffle cone bowl is more than enough. Ive been going to different Kilwins from all over (Tennessee, other parts of Florida) for a couple of years now, and have yet to find myself disappointed. Their prices are always competitive, and the smell always brings you in the door! We walked in and ordered some ice cream and fudge and were out in a minute or two and enjoying everything by the waterside close by. My cappuccino ice cream was fantastic with big chocolate chunks in it, and the chocolate chip cookie dough was great as well albeit the main star definitely being the big chunks of cookie dough. We also got a quarter pound of their Kilwins Mud fudge which is vanilla fudge with caramel and dark chocolate in it...Impressive to say the least! I love that they have so many options, and you can smell the sugar before you even get inside. It's always fun to get a treat here and enjoy it while walking down the historic street window shopping. After visiting the Castillo, I came to this shop to grab a little treat and was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! They have everything from ice cream to caramel apples and various assortments of fudge. I got a chocolate dipped pretzel covered with nuts, which was chocolately, sticky, and very sweet. I recommend it for the sweet tooths out there! I also tried a chocolate covered rice crispy bar, which was more moist but also very good. I really enjoyed the chocolate covered Oreos! I'm not a huge fan of Oreos (unless they are crushed up in ice cream) but for obvious reasons, they tasted even better covered in chocolate! The price of each was $2~$4, which was reasonable for a touristy chocolate place. read more

Stopped in to browse as we were walking St. George street. Bought a half a slice of maple fudge and grabbed a bag of their peanut brittle. I'm no fudge connoisseur by any means but I thought the flavor was great. On the negative side, I felt it was a little to loose and could have been packed tighter. I envision fudge as something denser than a brownie but I could be mistaken when it comes to "real" fudge. The peanut brittle (sold in pre-packaged bags) was fantastic. This alone would make me come back and when I do - not if but when - I'll be grabbing some cashew brittle as well as some pecan brittle. What we did buy was sweet and light but still had the perfect BREAK for what I would consider fresh brittle. Again, I'm no expert but I do know that I liked this stuff a lot. read more

We stopped in here for some ice cream as our family was determined to try every ice cream place in St Augustine. This ice cream landed toward the bottom of our list. The place was clean and had A/C and appeared fully staffed (about 6 workers). The workers were younger and had to finish hanging out and chatting before taking our order. The ice cream was soft and melting when scooped. The taste was ok but the experiment gets ruined when your ice cream is already running down the side of your cone before even getting to the register. As soon as you walk by you can smell the deliciousness through the air. Kilwins is definitely one of my favorite ice cream places. Vibe- traditional and old fashion charmed. They have s cute little railroad train that goes all the way around the ceiling. The stores goods have the chocolate caramel apples and fudge to the left. Then to the delicious ice cream. They do carry boxed goodies of fudge and chocolates. Everything is delicious! The yummies- my favorites are the toasted coconut ice cream and the turtle cheesecake. You can tell the ice cream was fresh and they really use natural ingredients in the cream. However, they have a whole selection on choices to choose from. Service- everyone I had encountered working there was super nice. I have yet to find a rude worker. It does get packed and busy since it is that good!
