We were just going "to look and see what they had" mentality going in to the store, we left with a brand new mattress, box spring and a new friend in Pam the sales representative! She's really good at her job, loves being in the "mattress business", has two cats and lives in Simi Valley. My husband and I recently visited Conejo Valley Mattress as we were in need of a new bed. When we went in, there was only one person there and after a minute or two she had acknowledged us. We took a look around and worked with her (I wish I could remember her name) to pick out a mattress and then a bed set. She was very kind and had good intentions, although on occasion she kept trying to direct us to styles we stated we weren't interested in. After about half an hour there, we got everything picked out and on order for the bed. We were told it would take about a week, but it may come in earlier and they would arrange to have it delivered then. The day before we were scheduled for delivery, I called to see if it had by any chance come in earlier. The person who I spoke to on the phone was not the same woman that helped us and was a bit short with me and almost sounded irritated that I was calling. When I told her I was checking to see if our order was on track or possibly coming in early, she told me they didn't do deliveries outside of the weekend and it would come on whatever day I was told and then promptly hung up. The next day I got in touch with the original woman that helped us and she worked with the delivery guys (they use a college moving company) to have everything delivered and set up. It was discussed previously that they would dispose of our existing mattress for us, but the movers had no idea they were supposed to take anything. These guys use their own trucks, so they don't have a lot of room to work with. The guys who delivered our stuff were just a college kid and an older gentlemen in a small pickup. They thankfully made it work and were very nice about everything. They were in an out quickly and I was pleased with the set up. Overall we were happy with the purchase. The mattress is very comfortable, but I was a disappointed with the quality of the bed set we got. She kept mentioning how wonderful and well built the wood set ups were. The headboard and footboard appear to be made of some type of plastic and not wood. You can't put any sort of pressure on it. When I leaned over the edge to make the bed up, there was concern that I might break something. I guess we'll just have to be conscious of that. The setup does look nice though, even if it is a bit "cheaper" than we were led to believe. If you are in need of a new mattress/bed set and don't want to spend an outrageous fortune, I would suggest checking them out. The prices weren't terrible and so far everything seems to be pretty decent. read more

Went mattress shopping with my wife this weekend and thought we would give Conejo Mattress a shot. We tried calling the store 3 times and no one ever answered the phone. If I could do 0 stars I would; I came in looking for a memory foam mattress... first Susan ignored my Wife and I...and walked to the back of the store and said excuse me I need to go eat some candy. Then we looked at the first mattress she became very pushy and insisting for us to lay on the bed and we were hesitant and uncomfortable to do so the store is very small and crammed with old mattresses, when we went to sit on the bed she begin to rub my 1 year old infants back without our knowledge on the bed.
