Jimmy has quite a bit of knowledge with garage doors. It's nice to see an owner operator actually on-site. My daughter called me last night and couldn't open the garage door. After seeing a broken spring, I called Jimmy at 5 pm. He told me he would be at my house this morning between 8 and 10 AM. He arrived at 8:45 AM and replaced both torsion springs. I first met Jimmy around 8 years ago when he and his father installed a new garage door for my home. Actually, it was Jimmy doing 99% of the installation with his father just hanging around. Jimmy was great, very knowledgeable, courteous, and wanting to please. He was not a hard sell, just gave you the positives and negatives of the different types of doors. A few months ago Jimmy came to my house to check the rollers of the door that had been installed 8 years ago. One of the rollers had jumped the track. No problem, Jimmy in a very short period of time, replaced all of the rollers. Job done...not quite. After Jimmy completed the repair my wife decided to she wanted a different look and asked Jimmy about available doors today. Again, Jimmy was not a hard sell. He explained to my wife the myriad of choices for a door, but did suggest a new door motor if we were going to replace the door, as the old motor was at least 20 years old which also had been serviced in the past. A happy life is a happy wife so she ordered a new style door from Jimmy and a new motor. With the new order, Jimmy waved the nominal repair fee he would have charged for the installation of the rollers. Jimmy came back a few weeks later to remove the 8 year old door (which really was in good shape) and installed the new door and motor. Everything worked like a charm. Jimmy was neat, efficient and very thorough, checking out the working of the door like a fine watch movement. I had a wheel of my garage door sheer off after we accidentally closed the door with something in the way. It's an older metal door that's heavy so I was concerned about the metal warping if we didn't get it fixed fast. Jimmy came out quickly to help us out and replaced the broken wheel while also walking me through the signs of wear and tear on the other wheels and hinges. He replaced only what was needed but his attention to detail helped me feel comfortable with his overview and confident in the decision to make sure the rest of the door was sound. He cleaned it up tested it with me and even made a few more adjustments to make sure the first issue was resolved and that the door was actually tuned up. Had a difficult Thanksgiving week with first my garage door stop working only followed by having issues with my water heater. So my door actually always wasn't perfect as I would have to assist lifting it and it would stop several times before opening completely. Bottom line I had several issues going on with door and opener itself. Was incredibly fortunate to get introduced to Jimmy at CV Overhead and he was attentive and listened to all the aspects of my situation. Although I had a new opener I'd just bought on Black Friday sale, after speaking with them I decided to see if they could help repair my unit from 2005. Not only did he get me scheduled quickly, he was able to even get me an appointment on a Sunday! The technician arrived on time, was very well mannered and also knowledgeable and we were always on the same page. More issues arose between the door and the motor but they whole team preserved to do their best to repair as opposed to going a more involved route. After spending a decent amount of time, they AMAZINGLY got the motor and the door so it was working like normal, with no assisting the door to open. Bottom line is they were exactly what anyone hopes for when hiring someone, professional, capable, reliable and trustworthy.
