On Friday at 10:20am I was leaving my house when my garage door suddenly fell off the track. Of course I had a flight to catch and needed to leave my house by 1pm. I panic and call our typical garage door service. My garage door is half down and crooked with part of it just hanging off. They say they can't be there for 4 days. Nope, not happening. Still panicking I call everyone on yelp. McElroy listened to my story and could probably hear the panic in my voice and he said he'd be there in an hour. Kevin arrived around 12:20 and was out of the garage with the door completely fixed by 1pm. My garage door was fixed and I made my flight. Plus they have VERY fair pricing. My garage door was tilting..i screwed uap and had tried to reverse out before it was fully open. I called three people, using the yelp reviews as a guide, at 7 30 at night. Two of them said they would come out at 2 pm and 3 pm. Then i heard from Mcelroy and he offered to come over at 11 am. I asked him his cost and he said he would charge $125. He identified the problem right away - a cable and come out from the right side pulley. He fixed it and tried the door a half dozen times making sure that both the remote opener and the attached opener in the Garage worked. The best $125 I ever spent - highly recommend him. read more

I have had at least 3 (maybe 4?) service calls for McElroy door over the past 15 years, most recently two weeks ago when my car hit and pretty well destroyed the still closing door. They arrived the next day, hammered it back into shape so I could close it, ordered the new one, then this week installed it, and then did a final adjustment to smooth it out. Have been a satisfied customer for over 20 years for both new installations and repairs to my home and also rental properties. Owner Kevin Christian shows up on time, gives best value and stands behind his work. On a rental installation of a new garage door opener, a series of remote transmitters kept failing due to a bad run of a major manufacturer's units. Kevin stayed with the problem until it was fixed, requiring a couple of return visits. A recent failure of an opener at my residence was diagnosed by Kevin as a failed antenna wire which he supplied and would not charge for the service visit. I called McElroy Overhead Door for a repair. The garage door had hit our car (we exited too quickly before it was all the way open) and was off its track and the bottom panel was bent. Kevin was working in the neighborhood and was at our house within 15 minutes of the call. He had originally installed the door over 8 years ago and we were happy with his work then. He quickly got the door back on track, adjusted its opening so the bent part would not hit the upper frame, fixed the weatherstripping, and bent the door back a bit. He even recalled the name of the color so that he can get us an estimate if we decide to replace the panel. The $89 charge will be applied to the cost of the new panel if we take that route. What more can you want: immediate service, reasonable price, knowledgeable, and excellent work. read more
