Their loaded wiener - chili, onions, mustard

At one point in time, Cumberland, MD was known as the "Queen City" because it was a key road, railroad, and water canal junction during the 19th century; in fact, it was once the second largest city in Maryland. However, after reaching a population of 39,000 residents in the 1940s, today Cumberland is a small quaint town of 22,000 with museums paying homage to its industrial past. If visiting Cumberland, stopping by Coney Island Famous Weiners is a good place to grab a quick bite and dine somewhere which has been in business since 1918. Walking into the place is like being transported to a 1970's era diner. Composite wood booths along with low stools by a counter, along with Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia is an homage to the working class character of Cumberland. While this place offers a few other items such as burgers, the main reason to visit are for their hot dogs, or more appropriately, their weiners. The classic version is a boiled dog on a steamed bun, with their house chili, mustard, and chopped onions. No frills and all flavor. The casing has that nice snap which comes from quality meat, and the chili is seasoned well without being too salty or spicy. I might recommend asking for 1/2 the onions or have them on the side, since the amount they load on can overpower and mask the taste of everything else. As of this review, a classic weiner is $1.65 each. So order yourself two (or three or four, but honestly two should be enough), a drink and you can get out for under $5 ($6 if you want to leave a tip). Not too shabby for a place that's been in business for over a hundred years.

I have been going here since I was little when we l would come into town. I don't know if it's nostalgia that makes me love and crave it, but each time I take a bite I feel like I've been missing it forever! Get the an everything, fries, and a chocolate Ricky. The best.

Unique stop in Cumberland for hot dogs!! I'm in a group of cyclists who take the GAP & C&O Canal Towpath trails from Pittsburgh to D.C. and this place was recommended. It did not disappoint! Food is good. They are small so get several. My buddy got fries too.

How can you not love a place where the servers memorize your orders?! I go there twice a month - not too often- and they know my exact order. Super fast, never have to wait, kind of retro in the fact that you don't see places like this anymore. Western Maryland staple. Right on the bricks of Cumberland to add the historic value. He even flattens my ketchup packets every time! I hate when they're mushed. Lol

They are proud to have been serving weiners since 1918! Drive past the fast food places just off I 68, and you'll find Curtis' (really part of the name) in Downtown Cumberland. It's been there since, "before 'Johnny Went Marching Off' to War!" A shabby, greasy spoon, serves up a traditional coney dog. The chili has a bland taste, but pretty good. Disappointment with my hot dog led me to order the Cheeseburger (frozen beef patty fried to extinction served on cold bun.) Couldn't eat that, so ordered "Fish Tail Sandwich" to go. Very tasty, flaky, cornmeal coated, fried plank of fish with cheese. Next time I stop in Cumberland, I'll go marching back and get the "Cheese Sandwich" and chocolate milk with french fries to go -- the healthy alternative.

Stopped in for a couple of hot dogs and fries. This joint has been here since 1918. Old school luncheonette with spinning stools. A lot of history in this place. They have a limited menu here. Dogs, burgers, fish sandwiches, French fries, shakes and a few other items. Prices are rock bottom. As for quality and quantity you get what you paid for. If you love hotdogs it's worth trying out if for no other reason to see the places history.

Nice place and the dogs are pretty good. Be aware they take cash only. They are friendly and fairly cheap.

This place is great, Curtis has created the must eat place while visiting Cumberland. Makes me want to go get a hotdog as I type.

I have had their hot dogs and I was unimpressed. Typical hot dog with typical 'coney' sauce. It will make a turd. Could be a lot better.

We were about to get up and leave when finally another server who had just came out on the floor asked us if anyone had been over to us. When we said no, she went and got Michael, by this time we had been seated going on a half hour. He asked if he could get us some drinks, we told him we already knew what we wanted and were ready to place our orders. Then waited about another 30-35 minutes until our food came out. Cold and on stale bread. We both asked for drinks with no ice, received ice in both drinks. I asked for Swiss cheese on my sandwich and boardwalk fries, no cheese and then he said these were boardwalk fries (see Pic). The service was subpar and the food wasn't much better. My order was wrong and cold. One server clearly refused to serve us, but served literally every table around us. The other couldn't be bothered to even try to get our order right. If you go Rocky Gap, I definitely do not recommend Signatures Bar & Grill. The other restaurants in RG, the food was decent and the service was much better. The servers at Signatures Bar & Grill were blatant in the fact that green was not the most important color to providing decent let alone good service.

The cleanliness of the bar detracted from the experience with the small of cleaning product creating an unpleasant fragrance inside. Service was great and attentive.
