Came here for lunch today. The chef proprietor very kindly opened up early for us even though she was not actually serving until 3pm. I had a mac & crab & shrimp bowl and my husband had a Big B! burger with bacon, smoked brisket and onions. She even added a side of mashed potatoes for our toddler. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. Shrimp was boiled in a wonderful seasoning mix. We enjoyed lunch in the park since the establishment does not yet have table service. Absolutely delicious! Truly a hidden gem in a small town in western MD. Extensive vegan menu! Had the fried chicken combo with jerk shrimp. Both were very good however, it was the dirty rice, Mac and cheese, and fried oyster mushroom that really stole the show. Saw the yelp ratings and had to stop. We were kindly greeted by t as we entered and I found another purple lover. We were shown the menu and directed to special and asked if we wanted vegan or regular menu. I see they also have gluten free options which is a plus. Sadly they did not have brisket or greens today but we'll be back to try them. Ordered pulled pork sandwich and Gouda Mac & cheese and they were tasty. Fried chicken strip platter and cornbread were really tasty and made to order. I loved that the waffle fries were crisp. Was surprised by a couple of hush puppies hiding under the chicken. Ww were looking for a place to eat near the visitor center. First, I ordered through the page on yelp. There was a glitch and the order didn't go through though credit card was charged. The owner called Grubhub and helped resolve the issue. We had the Spicy Jerk shrimp hoagie, fire bomb chicken sandwich and Cajun fries. The shrimp hoagie was delicious, could have been more spicy for me, but I have a thing for spicy food. The chicken sandwich was amazing. I've not had fried chicken this good since my mom made it when I was a kid. Tender, juicy inside, crunchy and spicy outside, not greasy. We nearly fought over the Cajun fries...next time we'll get two orders! Easy access from and to I68. It's an older building in historic downtown. As others have said...don't judge thus book by the cover or you'll miss out on some of the best food we've found in Cumberland. read more

I was in town visiting the parents when my mother said she was hungry for BBQ. I grew up here and thought, great where am I going to locate decent BBQ. Yelp & "All That 2 Go" came to my rescue. Placed the order via Grub Hub and off to pick it up. I was greeted by a pleasant woman upon my arrival. She even stated that she put something extra in our order. Long story short the two brisket sandwiches and Mac and cheese and coleslaw were a hit with my parents. The shrimp sandwich I had was very tasty as well. My father ate up the Dirty Rice which was so kindly added to the order. We stopped here for lunch on our way home to Dayton Ohio. One of the specials was a fried chicken sandwich which both of my teenagers ordered. It was the largest chicken sandwich we have ever seen. It was nice and moist. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and some yummy baked beans. She makes everything fresh which was a concern that it would take long but we only waited around 10 minutes. I've eaten there about 4 times in the last week. Each meal was fantastic. Don't judge a book by its cover, their homemade meals are fantastic. If you crave a home style meal, they are the place to go. I just finished off a steak sub and it was really good! I've kicked back some desserts as well. We are traveling and passed right by Cumberland. We decided to try this place and will be returning because of how amazing the food was. This is by far is the worst experience I have ever had in my life! The customer service here is horrible. It took a while before we were greeted. When we were greeted she ask if were we there for a door dash pick up. Once she figured out we wasn't she became annoyed to wait on us. She then proceeded to tell us she was busy in the back and we could place an order when she comes back to the counter. We waited because it gave us time to look over the menu. When she came back she literally waved her hand for us to move out the way so she can handle the person who walked in the door after us because she was a pick up order. We were still patience after all this is a small establishment and looks like it only ran by her or maybe just two. She finally gets to us and we order and she told us we couldn't order certain items. Not that the items were out of stock or unavailable at the moment, like any professional would have stated. She just repeatedly kept saying these are the only sides you get with your choice. I asked over and over again can we just pay the up charges; and was ignored. She just kept pointing to the menu items we can order in a very rude manner. Once we left because she told us it was a 20 min wait for our food. My partner and I discussed how we should have left long before we placed the order. However, we were so hungry we just didn't feel like the hassle of looking for something else, and the food looked promising from the online photos. She tried to recover the vibe when we came back to pick up the food, but it was too late to save face in my opinion. Well after all the fuss the food was absolutely horrible. The condiments were cheap and watery and disgusting. We nibbled due to hunger and the rest hit the garbage where it belonged. It is also a ton of things I could tell you about the food and what exactly made it horrible, but I have written a long enough post. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone. I don't care how hungry you are go to Baltimore street grill. And if it Sunday and they are closed which was my dilemma then go to Sheetz because this is not worth the price or the hassle. read more

I have never had a bad meal from here. I like the seafood offerings best, especially the shrimp boil on Friday, my new favorite as of tonight. The fried fish sandwich with homemade tartar sauce is a close second. The Gouda mac and cheese...you couldn't serve me a big enough portion. It's unbelievable. I ordered early today just to make sure I could get a piece of the strawberry lemonade cake and was so happy I did. My husband is really fond of the pulled pork sandwiches and hamburger sub. I've eaten here several times and each time has been wonderful. The food is flavorful and definitely home made. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. You cannot beat the quality of food for the price that you pay. I was able to feed both me and my son with dessert and leftovers for less than I would pay going to a typical "fast food" restaurant. Stopped in Cumberland for the night and needed a place to pick up dinner to bring back to the hotel. This place was exactly what I was looking for to end a long day on the road. Everything we ordered was really really good, but fried chicken sandwich and the brisket sandwich were especially excellent. The fried okra and homemade coleslaw we got as sides were just as good as the mains, and the strawberry cobbler brought back delicious childhood memories. That was the worst meal I have had in a long while. I got the turkey, mac and cheese and stuffing. When I opened the container there was a turkey drumstick, mostly bone, with very little meat. The mac and cheese was good, but had collard greens mixed into it. it looked as though the spoon had been reused with washing. I had to pick out the greens before I could eat it.
