Attitude is EVERYTHING !!!! Don't bring your pets here !!! I arrived less than 20 minutes late for my dogs grooming appointment. Unfortunately, it was my mistake and I owned up to it. Right when I opened the door to enter the place, the so called "owner" looks right at me and says "next time you come late, I am NOT taking you !!" No hello, no hi, no nothing ... not even a professional way of saying "sir, I understand you're about 20 minutes late for your dogs grooming appointment, but please next time, try to come at the appointment time as it's very important for our business and everyone's scheduled appointment". Saying something in that way, I would respect .. not a nasty attitude, tone with a demeaning look like Im a piece of crap. Lady... I am a paying client !!! You're in business because of paying PEOPLE !!!! Attitude drives clients and business away!! I've been going here for my dog's grooming since 2018. I've had no complaints. Grooming done professionally and with care. Since my dog has lost both her eyes due to Glaucoma I thought it may have been harder for them but I see compassion still exists. I recommend this service to anyone. read more

I left this review on google. I brought my dog there twice. First time Lora, groomed him very beautiful and we were happy. Second time when I brought my dog I had a pleasure to meet her. She did not seem nice at all. My husband and I asked her few questions about the grooming she looked at us like we are asking for weird things and I though : ok, she knows better. After I picked up my dog he was acting very weird, few hours later he was throwing up (we are giving him same food, so it was not a food poisoning) The next day he stop walking, 2 days later tears all day long. I brought him to our doctor. He immediately said his back is stretched and muscles are swollen which most likely after the grooming. So we ended up with steroids and antibiotics. I guess my heart felt when I was giving my puppy to Lora that something is going to happen! Dear Lora, my friend recommended me and I was pleased with your service ONCE! However after I met you, your attitude and most important what I had to deal with after the grooming is UNACCEPTABLE! P.s.One day later I received from the owner respond back that my review is fake. Dear Owner, This is NOT FAKE REVIEW! My pet's name Chinggis Khan Pomeranian 1,4 year old. We were at your spa January 4th! You know very well who is this and that makes you even look worst right now! As a owner you lie right here in google review! I will tell you more, I will make sure to tell our friend who recommended you because they were bringing their dog to you spa for awhile! I did try to call you and left a voicemail! Nobody never ever called me back! Moreover , I can attach the receipt from your spa because we paid with credit card! Took my pekingese mix there for the first time and couldn't be happier. He looks and smells amazing. He came in with that long luxurious pekingese hair and I asked for a summer cut. The new hair do is even and clean. Very dapper. It looks like they really took their time and didn't rush- and I know he does not sit still. I'm not a reviewer of many things, but I have to celebrate the team at Coney Island Pet Grooming! I messaged them on Thursday of last week and received a response immediately regarding the requirements needed to bring in my baby Lucy. I made an appointment by phone and Monica was polite and very accommodating when I had to make changes to my appointments a couple of times. Since Lucy is a rescue I recently adopted and very scared of anything new. Monica and Laura (groomer) made her feel right at home! I was nervous to leave her. My husband picked her up at the promised time and she looked AMAZING! A brand new girl! I am so happy with the service! I will bring Lucy back for her regular baths and grooming! read more

This place is great! My parents had taken my Maltese to get groomed here a few years ago and it was the best cut he had ever gotten, but it was a bit far for them to travel to from Rockaway. This weekend, my family had an emergency as my husband's grandfather passed away, and we had to hop on a flight to Florida for the funeral with no time to plan anything. We have a beautiful sweet pitbull who we had to put in boarding due to no time to find someone to watch him, and that was a stress for us in itself as he is a rescue who is very, VERY attached to us and has extreme separation anxiety. I called Coney Island Pet Grooming and inquired about the boarding, and the guy I spoke to was so patient and accommodating with all my questions and concerns. We dropped our pit off on Saturday morning before our flight, and next thing I know I see pictures of him looking like a model with other dogs on their instagram stories, and show my husband and we're just ecstatic that he looks like he's having a good time. I called in and checked in on him, and was so glad to hear that aside from being shy with the humans, he was doing great. My husband picked him up when we got home yesterday, and we had asked them to give him a bath, cut his nails, groom him etc., and when I saw my baby boy, he looked so gorgeous and shiny, and just looked great, and my husband told me they said that he is welcome back any time because he's a good boy. I am so grateful for Coney Island Pet Grooming for being so accommodating when it was all so last minute, and I am so glad to know that if we ever need to take a trip, we have a place that we trust with our boy. read more

I'm not a person that likes to criticize. But if I do, things are usually ugly. My sister had her appointment on 11/22/21 for two dogs. We took 40 min ride to the place only to find out cuts on our dogs. Both of them! Big cuts around the stomach and small cuts around the ear. Combined with other comments, seems like this kinda stuff happens quite frequently. I mean I understand accidents happen sometimes. But two dogs? several cuts? Absolutely disappointing. read more

Whatever you do stay away from CONEY ISLAND PET GROOMING! Took my dog there for past two times and they have cut him twice once his paw and the other time his stomach. When I called the place to let them know and to take care in the future they said we are no longer welcome at their establishment! I came there with my dog for grooming and left with three deep cuts on my dog's stomach and groin area. The poor dog was suffering for a week and a half. We had to take the dog to the vet to get antibiotics. The staff was very rude when I called and didn't do anything to help me. They didn't care and felt no remorse about what they did to my dog. Tried to make an appointment for this weekend and she said because i missed my previous appointment I'm not allowed to have a weekend appointment cause other people need it , we'll I work weekdays and no one can take my pup to your location. I have a rescue dog named Cocoa. he is poodle and bijon mix. I have taken him to numerous groomers. Just to name a few, 2 Petco, and Gloria's. He was butchered and cut up. their answer was, he must have moved, or just put baby powder on the cuts. Petco actually gave me back my money. I wish Gloria's had done the same. They had my dog for 6 hours! I should have called the police! I was referred to Coney Island Pet Grooming and was very apprehensive. I took a chance because of her raves. I cannot put into words how gorgeous and adorable Cocoa was groomed. I am sure he also felt proud. they did EXACTLY what I wanted, only 3 hours and not one nick on him! I don't usually write reviews but I felt this needed to be said. I have been coming to this business for almost two years now. They have done a great job with my dog. My dog has also stayed with them on at least 3 occasions for boarding when I went away. Recently after her last grooming appointment I noticed my dog was bleeding in her anal area. I have never had any issues with my pet and I was concerned. I called my vet and she told me to take her to the veterinary hospital because she could not see her right away. The doctor at the hospital notified me that she could have gotten this injury due to being groomed too closely to her anal area. I called them to notify them however not accusing them. They asked me to send them photos which I did. Immediately they took offense and started to act different. They took it way overboard. They even asked me to go to "their vet" since they felt she was a more credible person. I went out of my way and did that and she told me the same thing. Fast forward Two months passed and I called to get a grooming appointment and now they wont even service me. As a customer and someone who cares deeply for their pet I would never treat anyone like that. I will find another business to support but beware when coming to this place. If you have any issues with your pet afterwards they may cut you off as well. read more

I can't tell you how much I LOVE this place. Everyone here is so amazing I wouldn't trust my Dalmatian to anyone else. By the time I get there not only does Kannon not want to come home when I get him home he is fast asleep for the night. Anyone who knows Dalmatians knows this is hard to do wearing out a Dalmatian is almost impossible. He is like a ADHD child on a sugar high on a normal basis but thanks to this day care I get some quite time. They are always smiling when you go there and just so sweet. I don't know where to begin to describe how amazing the ladies of Coney Island Pet Grooming are. We've been bringing our Goldendoodle there for over a year for both daycare & haircuts. They take care of our baby like he is their baby. We joke that he likes them more than us!! He has some food issues that they are careful about, and they often send us photos & videos while he is there. All different kinds of dogs go there, and it's easy to see how much they care about each of the animals. Please don't hesitate to bring your pets there - let's support our small businesses!! This is the best place to bring your dog for boarding and daycare! My doggy is always so happy when he gets home. The socialization with other dogs makes me feel more confident with him at a dog park or just simply walking him, because before he used to attack other dogs.
