The children get tickets after each session they can use to reward themselves and they also get little certificates when they advance to the next level (belt color). I sent my bow there for tying in the peep sight. Should have been a one day job. Turned into six days. And had no call back, email or communication on my bows status. I called a few times and was told it was not ready and I decided to pick it up and attempt to tie the peep sight myself. Before picking it up I called and spoken to Greg. Very good guy and friendly. He said there was not a full time bow mechanic. But should they not update their website to reflect this? Anyways, when I got there I got my Bow. And all be darned if the peep sight was not already fixed. I paid them $25 for the service. And Reggie did a great job. However, I wanted my cams looked over and inspected and that was still not done. Any bow shop I ever been to usually inspects the cams after working on a bow. Made no sense to my why this was not done same day my peep sight was finished. And having to deal with 3 or 4 people to retrieve my bow was a bit of a hassle. Anyways, What I am saying is that Nova fencing and archery is a great friendly place. But, they need to work on communication and update their website saying they currently don't have a full time bow mechanic. And work on contacting their customers. Like I said. I have to leave a critical or negative review. And wish I could leave 5 stars. But, sadly I cannot. I feel like the Bow department needs to work on internal and external communication. Great place for people and children to learn and take up fencing and archery from some of the best instructors in the NOVA area. But their archery shop needs improvement. No hard feelings.

It was definitely over-crowded and quite hard to find a table to sit down. We eventually found one right at the back of the store. The kids had the best time but scramble employees were no where to be found! There was no one monitoring kids. My kid got hurt a few times by slightly older kids and it was quite chaotic. The staff were not cleaning at all. You have to remove your shoes before entering the play area but the toilets are located inside the play designated area which means you have to go into the bathroom with socks on which is very gross. They should allow shoes in the bathroom area. Also the soap dispensers were empty and the lady that cleans the bathroom just hung out in the bathroom not really cleaning or filling the soap. The cafe - there are food options for kids and adults. We did try the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was fine( cheese) but the fries were not good. It tasted like they fried it in very old oil. They do have coffee but I did not try it as the didn't have an option for skim milk. They do not allow outside food or drink but no one seems to really monitor that. Security - ok so this is non-existent. There is a door that divides outside area with inside play area but kids can easily open the door and leave the premises. The lady that stands by the door doesn't monitor kids matches with their guardians. She just opens and closes the door and often she is not there at all. They do not give wristbands at all or any form of security feature. So watch your kids closely while you are there as once they go into that massive play area it's difficult to locate them. The kids seemed to enjoy it as they don't worry about germs , dirt or food. I mean it's fine for an hour or so but honestly it was the last resort when deciding on a place to take the kids too. They also charge the adults an entry fee!!! ‍ I mean it's not like we are playing in the kids areas . I think we paid $55 for entry (2 kids and 2 adults). Would I go back? Not by choice but if the kids asked then I would consider it for an hour or two. ( definitely not on a weekend though).

The humidity was high, the air was thick, and there was no working A/C to keep the space comfortable. Kids were flushed and sweaty within minutes, and the lack of ventilation made it feel unsafe for extended play. Scramble usually does a good job with cleanliness and staff friendliness, but climate control is non‑negotiable. They need to fix the A/C before welcoming families in these temperatures.

I have two children attending, one in preschool and the other has been there a few years and started in Kindergarten (no preschool when we started). The school has been changing, for example, the addition of the preschool program and a new principal after the other one left to get married. The current principal seems alright and is older, so more likely to stay. She is also better at communication than the old principal. I like that the school has more diversity that St. James, which also seems to be more conservative in its parent population. Tuition is reasonable, with discounts for multiple children and aftercare. The teachers love the students and there are some really involved parents that make the school year fun for the kids. It's like a family. I also like that the classes tend to be small (15-20 kids on avg). They have Spanish, art, music, and music classes as specials. CYO sports, band/orchestra, choir, are some after school activities to name a few. I don't like vendor run lunch program that costs more than I spend on lunch, so we mostly pack lunch. It would be nice to have two classes per grade, so there were more kids. I would also love if they switched over to a Spanish-immersion program for the diocese. Several of the teachers are bilingual along with the students. Some may have heard rumors about the proximity to Bailey's Crossroads. To date we have had no issues and the school has modern security, like controlled access to the school (i.e., badge or buzz in).

Each student receives plenty of attention, and teachers have a good understanding of students' personalities and needs in this small-classroom setting. Our kids think the world of their teachers, and the learning and advancement continues to exceed our expectations. I was particularly impressed with how the administration handled the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and 2021. In-person classes were in session throughout the entire school year with the option for virtual learning. Measures were taken to ensure students stayed healthy and in-person learning persisted. Any reported cases were quickly addressed with proper quarantine and sanitation protocols. I had full confidence my child would be safe when dropping her off at school each day. This was a stark contrast to the local public schools whose doors remained closed during this school year. If you are looking for a small, nurturing, tight-knit community for your child's education, I highly recommend making a visit to St. Anthony.
