I bought 12 fat Albert Spruce trees from this nursery. I spent over 500 dollars. I was expecting at least 16 to 20 inch trees. Instead I got 10-12 " trees, that I could of got at home Depot for 12.99. I live in Oregon where the nursery is so shipping costs were minimal. If you decide to purchase from this Nursery (Con Kingdom) you will not get your money's worth. I feel like I was Robbed. read more

The plant came in and it was frost bitten, the leaves were brittle, probably the roots were frost bitten too? They said its fine and they wouldn't exchange at the time. I trusted them. So I planted it, and now it's dead - it didn't survive. I asked them if they would replace and now theyre claiming it was already out of the timeframe for their guarantee. Really? These guys cannot ship maples! I've ordered maples twice from them. There will not be a 3rd time. The first time, they sat in a box for 8 days! When I got my plants they were COOKED and Ukigumo (5 gallon) looked terrible. This was over a $350 order! It had an ugly graft and the whole middle of the tree was bare. At the time I ordered, they had a lot of them in stock. It felt like the person that picked it out just picked the most terrible one they had in stock and sent it to me. I emailed them and told them everything and they basically told me that it wasn't a "health issue" and literally ignored me after that. The second time I purchased maples from them they put them in a box taped together but they still had the ability to move up and down. All 4 of the trees showed up damaged. 1 of them looked like the leaves had been crunchy for weeks. I emailed them and told them about the damage and they told me "sorry to hear the Aureum maple had some damage in transit. We will most certainly provide this feedback to FedEx in the handling of their shipments." Also, "The rest of the tree looks healthy. This shortening of the tree height will actually help with next year's growth and encourage more side branching development!" What a ridiculous thing to say to someone. Order from someone with real customer support! Like MRMAPLE! I ordered "Hot Blonde" from them a few weeks ago and it showed up broken. I emailed them, they apologized, and a new tree was on my porch 2 days later! read more

Purchased two trees over the winter which they said would be sent in March. Upon shipping and without asking, they gave me a small discount citing poor form. If I had seen the trees before purchasing them, I would have passed. I will not be purchasing from them, again. read more

I purchased a Gold Drift Norway Spruce to be shipped to me in Michigan. As you can see from the photos, the first photo is from their website, which has since been taken down as they claim they are "Sold Out". The second photo is the tree I received in which you can clearly see there are two "Leaders" One of which has been cut and the other is bent in a 45 degree angle as depicted in the third photo. The tree I received does not look like the one in the photo on their own website. When I contacted them I was told in no uncertain terms that my problem is cosmetic and does not fall under their warranty/guarantee. So because I assumed I'd receive a tree that at least resembled the one on the website it's my problem that it doesn't. The rep told me to cut off the second leader if I wanted it to look like the one on their site. Don't waste your time and money with this disreputable company. read more

I've been buying conifers from C.K for many years because I'm a bit of a rare plant nut and I retired from grounds/landscaping profession. There are but a few places to get such gems, anyways as others have said their guarantee policy is not the best but generally I've been satisfied with what I've gotten from them, some plants are quite hard to come by. Here's one good tip to planting, if you have heavy soil like here in Pa. when you get the plants, prepare the hole first, mix in a good amount of peat moss, unpot the plant, hose the root ball off with a strong stream of water getting as much of the potting soil that came with it off, spread the roots as much as possible, plant a little high, work in the soil mix with your hands, water well and mulch. Water once a week when you don't get a real good rainfall first year. If you use the free shipping order by March or early so you receive before you get hot days as they take a beating in a truck in the 5-8 days to get to you here on the East US. read more

Although the other spruces and pines are healthy it just these two have me concerned. They should pick the healthiest ones to ship and clean the unhealthy ones read more

Poor specimen, poor packaging, poor value, and poor Customer Service. I noted at purchase that I collect conifers, would be viewing them 360 degrees around, and wanted both miniature specimens to be shaped in the characteristic globe form of the species. There were 44 specimens in stock. What I received in my $200 order was one gallon placed on top of the other in a narrow shipping box. To make that happen the conifer in the bottom gallon was occupying only 1/2 of the pot and was severely misshapen; the height and width on one side of the trunk was more than double the other. At most we are talking 5 inches; the smaller side at 2 inches. It was 1/2 a globe at best. The gallon that was placed on top of it had further compressed the 1/2 globe so it was smashed. Lower limbs were limp and flattened also by the bag of conifer fertilizer placed on top of the bottom pot beside the second gallon pot. These miniatures grow 1 to 3 inches a year so the side that is less than 1/2 the other will never catch up unless I start taking off the "good" side that is 5 inches and has a thickened branch. Customer service totally ignored my input that on a miniature growing a mere inch or so a year, the misshapen form matters a lot. They totally ignored my input that my ordering notes specified the characteristic globe shape. All I wanted was an exchange for a decent specimen. I was told I had the best of 44 specimens and would be given a refund to return but could not get a globular form. For a collector and someone who noted in the ordering comments that I collect and wanted the characteristic form, comments which were totally ignored, this makes Conifer Kingdom a company that cannot be trusted in their selection choices and Customer Service. I was told that they place one pot on top of the other to fit a narrow shipping box so they can save money on the cost of shipping. I would gladly pay shipping to have decent specimens chosen and to avoid packaging damage. I was told all that was needed was to fluff out the limp and squashed limbs--limp and squashed limbs do not fluff out. Their website descriptions are inaccurate if they fail to supply specimens that match or can reasonably match with a bit of time or pruning--not so with these miniatures. read more

I was looking for a Japanese Maple that does well in my region. I reached out to them and they were very helpful in picking the right one given the temperature and conditions. They recommended the Tamukeyama Japanese Maple so I ordered that. When the transportation time was right they shipped it and soon after I received it. It's absolutely beautiful. I was planning to get two Seki No Kegon Japanese maples from Mendocino Maples, but they were out of stock since I first looked into it, I think early 2023. I figured on trying to get some next spring and perhaps at some point late this year one would be able to order some to get in the spring. But I really wanted these trees so I looked for some other source. And I noticed that Conifer Kingdom, which I was not familiar with, had some in stock. So I ordered two. They are more expensive than the price Mendocino Maples shows, but the shipping was free, so it wasn't as big a difference. I'm not sure if the free shipping was just based on meeting the minimum order or also was based on that I live about 100 miles or so away from the nursery. At any rate, I just got the trees and I am extremely pleased with them. I have previously gotten one Japanese maple from Mendocino Maples and a few from Mr. Maple and these look the best of ones I have bought online. They pack the trees extremely meticulously. I would bet it is very rare for anyone trees they sell to be damaged in shipping. (only drawback of the packing is it takes a while to unpack them) I planted them yesterday and they look nice in the yard right away. Considering the high caliber of these trees, I consider them well worth the price. read more

Top notch - informative, quick turn around on my zillion questions, and polite beyond belief. The plants arrived precisely when they said they would even though they came from Oregon to Maryland. They were so well packaged they could have been shipped to Hong Kong by boat, and I am confident they would have arrived intact and healthy. I have ordered from many nurseries, and these guys are the best. Pricing is fair, selection is excellent, and quality is superb. Total professionals who know how to do it right. I ordered a Korean Fir from Conifer Kingdom. Two weeks after it arrived the needles were turning brown. I reached out to them and they blamed temperature stress claiming the my temperatures where higher than those in their nursery. When I showed their local temperatures where actually higher than mine they then shifted their claim that it had to do the plant being unable to enter a state of dormancy on a daily basis. When I pointed out plant dormancy is a seasonal and not daily occurrence, and that neither of our regions were cold enough for the plant to enter a dormant state as it is in the 60s and 70s for both of our regions, they then circled back again claiming it had to do with temperature shock in a circular argument. They then referenced the exclusions in their 45 day guarantee, however none of these exclusions supported their claims, as it was limited to "In certain regions of the country, particularly southern states where extreme heat and/or humidity may not be conducive to the health of the item(s) ordered, it may void the guarantee", however I live in the Chicago, not the southern states, where it has been in the 60s/70s the entire time i've had the plant just as it has been in their nursery in Silverton OR. In short their guarantee is worthless, and they're a bunch of compulsive liars who cant be bothered to perform due diligence like checking weather reports before they make baseless claims. So be sure to pay for this with a credit card, as you can initiate a charge back for the reason code of product not as described for 90 days after your payment. Its what I did, and my bank has already given me back my money and charged them for the amount plus a transaction dispute fee. read more

Last August I purchased both conifers and an autumn moon Japanese maple. The maple looked stressed when it arrived so I contacted the nursery with the only less than customer friendly reply being to return it if I wasn't happy. This spring the maple started leafing out and then just shriveled up. I again contacted them via Facebook sending pictures and requesting a refund. They only offer a 45 day guarantee on their plants which is not enough time. Most other nurseries offer a year guarantee. $125 is a lot of money for a plant that doesn't make it 9 months. I have many Japanese maples and this is the only one dying. If you're planning on purchasing from this business I suggest visiting in person and not ordering via mail they way I did. I am going to echo Bryan's sentiments re Conifer Kingdom. My wife and I visited the grounds and we came away so impressed with the diversity of plants, particularly japanese maples, as well as the owner's knowledge and passion on the subject. It was a fantastic learning experience and we plan to come back with my parents in summer when it is even more beautiful. It is a real shame that there is so much red tape when it comes to shipping plants up to Canada, otherwise I would seriously consider their services. I was so nervous ordering trees from an online nursery. Two phone calls with fantastic employees eased my jitters and an order for 2 'Stowe Pillar' trees was placed. Do not buy from this company. Buyer be ware. All of the nurseries in my area guarantee their trees for one year, as well as, places like Lowe's and Home DePot. This place doesn't even guarantee their merchandise for two weeks. My cypress tree came damaged and I thought it would come back to life. But is turning browner every day and they refuse to make good on it because I waited too long to inform them. I waited not even a month when it was reported to them. I also purchased a red maple from them and all the leaves fell off. According to them, it is too early in the season for this to happen. But they will not make good on this tree either. Because the trees obviously came damaged they could put in a claim with the carrier and be fully reimbursed for the trees, but they refuse to do anything to satisfy or accommodate the customer. read more

Fantastic! I love this nursery! I ordered a 3 foot tall Ukigumo Japanese maple tree and received a free plant with my order; a Thuja plicate Whipcord! The plants were shipped and received within two days. They were both extremely healthy, great root systems and in excellent condition! I expected the Japanese Maple to be dormant, but it still had a full covering of leaves on it.
