My wife and I visited this establishment for lunch today and were very disappointed. Not the Conley's of the past. We inquired if there was a change in ownership and were told that yes approx 1.5 years ago the restaurant was sold to new owners. I ordered a Rubin sandwich and my wife ordered a cheese steak sandwich. The Rubin was very dry with little Sauerkraut or Russian dressing . My wife's steak and cheese tasted like reheated leftover roast beef that had been sitting in fridge for some time. Even though the food was terrible or, the service was excellent. Needless to say we were both Very disappointed and don't plan to return. read more

My wife and our friends visited Conley's Pub last weekend and we hadn't been here in some time. We and our friends live in Watertown and we enjoyed ourselves immensely but when the check came, we noticed an "administrative fee". When we asked our server, Sarah, about it, she explained that it was was a fee imposed by management. This is separate from taxes and tip. This was completely a scam on the part of the establishment. It is a money grab for literally nothing but a way to pad the restaurant and doesn't go to the server. Sarah (our waitress) was outstanding ! - We were a larger group and she was so attentive and friendly. While the food was good, atmosphere very nice, the administrative fee (basically theft of the consumer) is a dealbreaker. We will NOT be back despite living in Watertown read more

Local townie pub with sometimes friendly and sometimes slow indifferent service. Plenty of space, food is mediocre, beers poured in old pint glasses with names/logos half missing. Will leave it to the regulars to enjoy. read more

Sad to report that Conley's, a long-time local favorite has slipped--apparently a second set of new owners is in. The waitress was lovely and nice, but the food quality has declined. Fish tacos were cold--the tortillas actually seemed to have come directly from the fridge. The buffalo wings were served with buffalo sauce on the side--something i have never seen there (or anywhere actually.) Also cold. This is a very sad turn for the neighborhood. read more

I went there with my family on a Monday night! Service was quick and friendly! Drinks were refilled promptly and the food was delish. I highly recommend the pastrami sandwich. I'm a gluten free girl and I'll tell you I don't like gluten free bread. They have THE ONLY ONE I will eat. Served with a baked potato. They're so accommodating and kind and reassured me gluten free is a priority to their patrons. We had the Irish nachos as well - baked in the oven to make sure they were gluten free. I'm coming back and ordering the same thing. It was emotional to be able to eat safely AND the food was amazing. So happy about the changes made in the restaurant.. it's shining!! read more

A great local spot! They have a pretty big menu and there is something for everyone. When it's warm they have indoor and outdoor seating, and the indoor seating is 3 rooms big! They have tasty cocktails and a great rotating specials menu that I'm always excited to browse. The servers make you feel like they've known you for years. Nothing better than a local pub. read more

Went to Conley's for the first time last Friday. The restaurant side was busier than the pub so we sat there. The food was delicious! Ruben egg rolls, hand breaded chicken fingers, Salmon entree, Surf & Turf, Fish Tacos. ( seafood was very fresh!) We were a big group that was hungry and thirsty and everything was so good. Waitstaff was attentive, didn't feel rushed at all. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again!! read more

Didn't realize they had new ownership until after my visit. I felt something was different as the place was not busy on a Saturday night. In the past there was always a wait. Slow service and unapologetic staff for their mistake. We came here at 1 on a Saturday hoping to get a quick lunch for the kids, restaurant was empty and Food took over 30 minutes for 2 burgers, 2 chicken fingers and a grilled chicken over salad. We asked to cancel because we did not want to wait any longer. They said we couldn't cancel the order and deflected the blame back to us because we ordered a grilled chicken which takes a long time to cook. 20 percent gratuity automatically added to bill on top of 3 percent kitchen charge. Food was okay but on the pricier side $19 for burger and fries. Moozy or Ritcey east are faster options in the area. read more

Stopped in to watch the football game late this afternoon, and decided to get some food and a drink. Unfortunately, even though it's listed on the menu, they don't have any shepherds pie yet. It's listed as "coming soon". Ended up with an overpriced burger ($25) and an overpriced Moscow mule. Food was actually good, and the servers were friendly, but the service itself was poor. Took a long time for someone to take my order and a long time for the food to arrive. Once the food arrived, no one came back to check on me. I wanted a second drink, but after bringing me the cocktail menu, the waitress never reappeared. I had to go to the bar to finally ask for my check. I would have stayed to drink more and possibly order dessert but the service was so incredibly slow. I Have been going to Conleys for years. I went tonight and I had the steak tips, they came with cherry peppers and a roll, along with a baked potato. It was excellent. Tender and full of flavor. My friend had the swordfish tips which were awsome. New owners are doing great keeping the old atmosphere alive. Of course our waitress was excellent. The entire experience was great. read more

The food was average and overpriced. The service was fine but we found a mysterious charge on our bill that has something to do with "rising costs" but it wasn't disclosed in advance and it's not clear that the money goes to anyone but the owner. I went to Conley's for dinner and drinks and had a great time. The pub is fun and a nice ambiance. Staff were very friendly. I got the pastrami sandwich and it was delicious. A generous helping of pastrami and fries. A great list of beer and drinks too. I was very happy they had Maine Lunch beer! I will definitely be back to Conley's Pub & Grille. I met my family and friends for a get together on St. Patrick's Day. I believe it's under new ownership. The restaurant was very clean. The menu had a ton of variety. The service was excellent. I only went in here for a beer, but this place is pretty cool, I've passed, but the Lord knows how many times, but this is my first time coming in. First off, let's start off by saying Thomas the bartender is super cool. He really makes you want to just sit there and drink because he has good conversation and I will chill vibe. Now that we've gotten that out the way this place is way bigger than I thought it was going to be they have like one side for dining or maybe two but there's the bar in the Middle where she can just go and sit down or you have the option of sitting down and ordering food. On this day, I didn't get to eat anything, but the menu did look good, so I do plan on going back to go eat. I was there during the day around 4:00 it was a really chill spot to just sit back and have a drink. Party of 4 at 530 pm. We ordered Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips x2, and a pastrami sandwhich. Food was poor across the board the board. Fish and chips had an odd coating on them almost breaded...fish taco would have been ok if fresh off the grille. All 4 dinners were cool and appeared to have "sat" for a while. The waitress was very attentive and the expediter was busy. Im not sure where the fall down was but I will not be returning. New ownership rolls in and takes off the most popular menu item which they are known for their amazing steak tips and also their amazing steak fries for the worst burnt Dom's steak tips that I could make in my backyard and the worst french fries and also they got rid of the cherry peppers that came with the steak tips. I don't understand why you would tinker with and ruin what made a place great and w loyal following for so many years, I hope they read yelp and I hope they bring back the original steak tips steak fries and cherry peppers what a disheartening experience...smh read more

It seems with the new ownership the iconic steak fries have fallen subject to cheaper alternatives. I think the new ownership underestimates how much the loyal following enjoyed this staple it's these seemingly small details the customers notice the most. Don't mess with a good thing. read more

It's so sad when a restaurant goes downhill. We used to love this neighborhood place which has been around for years, but its under new ownership and the food is pretty bad. The sweet potato fries, which were delicious under the previous management, are now oily and nearly inedible. The basic burgers are small and expensive. The service is slow (it took us 45 minutes for our food even though the place was half empty). Really a pity. read more

Some of my favorites include the Garlic Cheese Steak (I struggle to not order everytime) Outdoor dining is setup in response to Covid-19 and seating indoors is available as well. Best burgers and steak tips! The Conley burger does not disappoint. The beef patty was very good. Goes well with the onion rings. Onions rings were not too greasy. Portions of sides were big. Fish tacos were very good and filling. We ordered 3 but were full after eating 2 of them. House steak tips is another must try. read more

Conley's has outstanding staff & food. Also, comfortable prices and portions. Their ambiance has the grounded elegance of a European pub, the casual environment (TVs) of a sports bar, and the roots of a long-standing local business. In Watertown on border but w/ Belmont-centric community culture. They have skilled Cooks making distinct food decisions. Their menu appears fairly NE pub classic on paper. But, the dishes often have the tiniest twist or are "marked" w/ a culinary signature down to the details. Their buns are not just buns. They are rich & doughy and stabbed with butter. Their fries are not just fries. They are broad steak, sweet potato, or waffle style fries. They offer perfect Sliders, Onion rings, Buffalo Chicken Potato boats, a Scallop & Steak tip combo, and Good Beer in Pitchers. Their vegetables are fresh and cooked just-tender w/ many healthy menu options. They don't cut corners on ingredients, effort, good judgement, experience, or skill. I haven't visited during CoViD proper or at peak hours pre-CoViD, only speaking to pre-rush dinners. But, the food is ridiculously good w/ zero weak spots, they cultivate a relaxed neighborhood vibe, and their staff are lovely. read more

Stopped in a few times for a beer or a bite to eat and grapped pickup once during the pandemic .There are not a lot of bar options in the area so it is a good thing that Conley's is a great place to grab a beer. They also have a dining room and a pretty large menu with a lot of good options. My personal favorite have been the BBQ boneless wings, lots of crisp and flavor. read more

Only my second time posting on yelp. I am all for supporting local business so I wanted to give an Honest review to give them insight and opportunity to improve. I then read Antonella's post from two yrs ago! The Greek salad is not a Greek salad! Same thing she said Lol this is what I came here to post! Not a Greek salad! With a teeny tiny container of dressing which def was not enough for the amount of spring mix greens included in this (not a) Greek salad. It's a salad and not that difficult to use the appropriate lettuce. They also had the post from Antonella 2 yrs ago. Why not fix it? Get it right or don't do it. Use yelp to your advantage. When in the food service, accuracy matters. It could mean life or death, literally, when so many people have food allergies. Also, got takeout so it was in a cardboard container with the sections inside. I was cutting and stabbing the hidden cardboard underneath the lettuce! A $20 salad, I'd expect to be in a round container, not in 3 squares. I'm over it. I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 because I'm not saying I'll never return but I'll never order the salad again.
