As for my data problem, the gentleman provided instructions for how to move the data without losing it. After speaking to an Apple tech, who advised I get a new phone because my version 11 phone has only half the capacity of the newer phones out there because "the upgrades require more just to run the phone" and since I can't afford one at the moment, this is the perfect opportunity to learn a new skill !
