He acted as if I had nothing wrong. I went basically to establish a relationship knowing that I wound need surgery in near future because I like Connecticut orthopedics having had good experience before. I also like their surgical center. Well Dr . Moran suggested a brace and some ointment, not even mentioning a cortisone shot. He ended the visit in a few minutes not even telling me the ointment or suggesti g fitting me for a brace knowing I can't wear a brace for work. Low and behold I didn't have a good experience and I'm going back to my original doctor who did my other thumb with success and diagnosed this one the same way.

I went here in 1996 for an ingrown toe nail. They performed a procedure on me that was incredibly…read morepainful, as they had not given me enough local anesthetic. The toe nail grew back, so they performed the procedure again. And again. And again. After the 4th or 5th time the problem came back after undergoing the same painful procedure over and over, I went to a general practitioner in Guilford. The general practitioner performed the minor surgery once (with effective anesthetic), and the ingrown toe nail NEVER grew back. These people have also recently performed an operation on my employer which has kept him laid up at home and practically bedridden for the last month. If a general practitioner can outperform them at their own game, that's a red flag. Proceed with caution when dealing with Drs. Grippo, Lazarus, and whoever else they've added in the last 18 years. I needed a podiatrist for a painful corn. I found this office at random. That was my first…read moremistake. The office is very old. The equipment is ancient (X-ray machine is many decades old). Poorly Maintained. The staff was nice. The doctor was ok. He dug out the corn. Buttttttt.....the follow up visit he grabbed my foot and looked at my toe and said "wow this has healed perfectly I can't believe it". I almost fell out of the seat. I looked at him like he was crazy and said "doctor you have the wrong foot". So he grabs the other foot and says "oh yes". If that still does not deter you look for the mold on the wood trim by the floor. He did the job, but I will never be back.
