I have been visiting Connection Cafe since the beginning of my pregnancy. One of the most recommended things my pregnant friends suggested to me was going to a chiropractor who specialized in prenatal care. After some yelping I found Connection Cafe and found Dr. Patricia and Dr. Emily. The model is unique in that you pay a membership fee and drop in whenever you want during their open hours. For me this works because I am usually over at Hippies Brew or working from home so my schedule is flex and I like going around lunch time. I have no preference in who I see both Dr. Patricia and Dr. Emily are great! I will say I likely get adjusted with Dr. Emily more often and at this point she knows my pain points. In my last months of pregnancy going to the chiro has been a lifesaver for some of the third trimester pains I've been experiencing (hip pain that makes me want to tear up in the middle of the night, leg and hip pain when I walk or stand). If I didn't go to the chiro I feel like these pains would be rampant and just never get better. I also just gave birth a couple weeks early at 38 weeks and feel like going to the chiro helped me have an optimal birth! Head down baby, was able to push him out in 30-45 min vaginal birth with an epidural, still had a second degree tear but overall healing well. read more

I've been coming here regularly for a while, and I've loved the services and overall vibe of the office! My wife and child attend also, and we have always received the best chiropractic care. I could hardly stand up straight, it hurt to move, and carrying my daughter up a flight of stairs was agonizing. For a total of three days, my life was turned upside-down from this rapid onset of intense back pain that made my 30 year old body feel like I was 90. I walked like it too, hunched over and relying on railings just to get to my front door. When I got adjusted by Dr Patricia, she did a thorough examination and found my problem area. Background: I am an avid athlete and enjoy fitness/volleyball. Before seeking out a chiropractor, I did my own research with various at-home rehab on my problem areas (ankle, neck, shoulder). I was referred by a friend who commented on how their sleep quality improved from sessions here at Connection Cafe, so I decided to pay a visit. Dr. Patricia was extremely nice and inviting, even over our first phone call. Just from the initial phone screening, I knew that I felt comfortable making an appointment for her chiropractic services. On my first visit, she spent about an hour getting more information on my history with my body - injuries, lingering pains, etc. The first round of adjustments felt very good, and she showed me areas of the human body that should have certain levels of movement, and then compared those general ranges to what my body currently possesses. It was helpful to see what I should be working on for my general health. Since my first visit, I have gone about 7 or 8 times for general check ups and adjustments. My quality of life has gone up significantly after adding chiropractic visits to my routine. My sleep quality has improved where I sleep through the night. My ranges of motion feel good when I am playing sports, and overall I just feel happier and less stressed. I have Dr. Patricia to thank for this bump in my life, and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone that is interested in this type of service to reach out to Dr. Patricia and see for yourself what it is like. I sought out a pediatric chiropractor for my two month old to help with her reflux. We had two visits with Patricia, who was very kind and seemed to be very knowledgeable. On our third visit I asked if she would be willing to put on a mask while she adjusted my daughter after hearing of the recent uptick in Covid cases. She said she would be willing to wash her hands but she was not open to putting on a mask for my baby's 5 minute adjustment. My issue isn't with her cleanliness, it's with the fact that during her last two appointments she was within a foot of my daughter's face with hers. The unwillingness to put on a mask for maybe 5 minutes for the assured health of an infant, left a very nasty taste in my mouth. They are dealing with multiple people coming in and out of a small space everyday. It's concerning that they are so against masking up that they are willing to risk the health of their most vulnerable patients. (It's "they" because I asked if they all felt this way and she said no one would be willing to mask up.) So, unfortunate and very much risky. read more

So where do I start. Let's start with I am a 49 year old male who has worked in the trades most of my life and over the last 10 years and have been living with chronic pain and to young to just give up on life and my profession. The only thing you will regret is not coming sooner. The background story is that my 3.5 month baby was having terrible reflux, sleep issues, and was generally a bit colicky. He barely slept 5-6 hours at night and just 20 min naps at night. His pediatrician was ready to start him on rice cereal and antacids and I just wasn't prepared to that. I'm a nurse practitioner so I was slightly unsure if a chiropractor would work but I was willing to try anything. So upon a recommendation we decided to bring him here. So the first visit was with Dr. Derrell and my son was having a crying fit. He was seriously crying at the top of his lungs the whole time he was being examined and being adjusted. Dr. Derrell was completely calm and pleasant the whole time my son was crying. After the adjustment that day my son slept 9 hours that night!!! I was completely sold. His spit up and reflux also got better over the next few days. We are currently going 2-3 times a week for him. My mom and I also added ourselves and already seeing some improvements. I cannot overstate my gratitude for Dr. Morgan and her caring work. I started seeing Dr. Morgan when I was 3 months pregnant. I had never done chiropractic care before so I had no idea what it was about. She was informative and walked me through what I can expect and what the sessions were like. I was seeing her once a week in the beginning then more frequently during the final weeks of my pregnancy (love their open hours!). Dr. Morgan was always able to provide me with relief when I was experiencing physical discomfort due to my growing and changing body. Under her care, I experienced better posture, better sleep and much less back pain. In the last weeks of my third trimester, I started getting some hip pain that would spread to the lower back. Dr. Morgan would help me work through it and explain what was happening. She'd try different things to help me feel more comfortable, and they always worked. Eventually I could feel my hips move differently, more fluid and smoother. The way I walked felt looser and comfortable, not stiff. She really listens to the issues I was experiencing, and was open and honest about what she was feeling during my exam. My visits to her during the later stages of my pregnancy helped me so much. I had a very painful lower back, a friend told me to go see a Chiropractor. I was a little hesitant but I didn't want to go to a regular Doctor and have more pills shoved down my throat so I decided to find a Chiropractor. I really didn't know where to start and my friend told me to look on Yelp, here I am. I choose Dr. Derrel because I liked his reviews, especially the part that says he's gentle, I was already in enough pain. Very hesitate, off I went, little did I know that this was going to change my life. My first visit, he explained what he was doing and why, I had my first adjustment. He was leaving on vacation the next day but he knew how much pain I was in so he agreed to meet me at 7am the next morning before he left to do a second adjustment, I don't know of any other Dr. that would do that. By the second adjustment I was walking and feeling 100% better. This is the good part! I suffer from chronic migraines, 18-23 days a month. I've tried everything, meditation, pills, Botox, neurologist, etc. with little success. The only thing that really helps is the pills but they take a toll on my body and cause other chronic problems. Because I decided to continue seeing Dr. Derrel 3 times a week I noticed that I had gone 11 days without a headache and, when I get a headache they only last a couple of days instead of 5-6 days. I admit that it was my back that brought me in but this keeps me coming back. 11 days without a migraine, that is life changing. I would like to say one more thing that I haven't seen anyone address, the fee. When Dr. Derrel advised that he would like to see me at least 3 times a week in the beginning, I was a little nervous because I'm single and I wasn't sure I would be able to afford it. When he told me that he charges a monthly fee for unlimited visits, I was sold. One of my friends sees a Chiropractor in San Jose, my monthly fee was less than 3 of her visits. The Dr. told me that he would rather charge a monthly fee so it's affordable for his patients to get the number of visits needed to help improve the quality of their life. This alone told me that he really cares about his patients, I really believe that his goal is to help me live a better life. Connection Cafe - A Chiropractic Center aka CCCC Background: I was seeing another Chiropractor in the area before coming here. The previous chiropractor was trying to up-sell me in other services he offered, even after I repeatedly told him I was not interested. It really made me uncomfortable that he didn't respect my boundaries and kept up-selling. Reviews & Price: I read the yelp reviews for CCCC, and even with all the positive reviews, I was still nervous because there was some mention of one of the doctors up-selling their services. When I was going there the only service they provide is adjustments. In my opinion, the "up-sell" would be on price of either each adjustment, or unlimited adjustments. When I was going there, it made more sense for me to get the unlimited package because I went to their office at least 1 visit per week. The price for the unlimited package was absolutely worth it for the number of adjustments I got. Visits: I went there for numerous injuries, misalignments, and pain: - Both wrists - They feel brand new. I don't remember how they felt with pain. - Collarbone - My collarbone needed realignment. They gave suggestions on what to pay attention to when I was working out. - Hip alignment - My hips were aligned before coming in as of June 2017. I was working on this when I was with my trainer too. - Ankles - This was an on/off problem. I often asked the staff there on suggestions on stretches and what to keep an eye on as I went on my day if there were specific pains. I also took notes on what I was doing when the pains would arise. I was going there for 11 months before I packed my bags and moved to the east coast. However, when I come to town, I know where one of my first stops will be. Staff: CCCC staff is really friendly and down to earth. I had the pleasure to get to know each staff member on a more personal level.
