It was time to put a cover on my poor bare patio. I'm a fan of alumawood so that's what type of cover I was looking for. I have one now that was put up on my other house six years ago and it still looks as good as when it was installed. I called three different contractors, well actually four but I cancelled that estimate after meeting with Chris from Patio Man. His estimate was lower than the first two. Chris had a great Yelp rating of five stars. Those stars are earned one star at a time. The job was scheduled for a week later from the estimate date. I was on site for the install. The crew showed up on time ....I like that! From start to finish it took the guys about 3.5 hours. This includes cleanup. Paco and Edgar did a real sweet job. Thanks guys! If you're looking for a patio cover I reccomend Patio Man!

Chris was a great communicator and we couldn't have asked for a better installation team - all three were very respectful, worked well together and did an excellent job with our patio cover and trellis. They left everything clean when they finished. Chris also came by to make sure we were happy at the end of the day (which is rare these days). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chris is a good communicator and he had the best design for our situation, which was not even suggested by the other people we got quotes from.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ran into an electrical problem during installation, my house was not wired in the expected way. He got his electrician out instantly and solved the problem. Chris knows what he's doing, has a positive attitude and very nice to work with. read more

Demolition and install were flawless. Installers were great and very responsive to any requests. Best part, they always asked me what my preference was when there was a decision to be made. Left me paint and stucco repair. NOTE: If they remove a ledger from your existing cover, they will not automatically paint dis-colored stucco. Negotiate this or do it yourself like I did. read more

To say I love our new patio seems an understatement. It has transformed our outdoor space. Chris didn't meet our expectations, he exceeded them. What I expected to have when he and his guys finished is nothing like what they delivered. As my daughter says, it's like we're rich. The ceiling is around nine feet. They installed ceiling fans, recessed lighting, electrical outlets, and a roll down screen on one side. We opted for gray columns and trim because our house color is gray. The contrast of the gray and white is stunning. The patio cover actually sits up above our existing roof, and there's a gap between the two. Now, if I had understood that going in I might have had my doubts (my husband got it, but I must have glossed over that detail in my head). It adds immensely to the beauty of the patio. I have this peek of sky with no sun, like a sky light, and it lets the heat escape. There's a gutter running along the whole length, so I have nothing to worry about when the rains come. We didn't add a patio cover; we added a room to our home. On top of that, Chris's price was better than anyone else. You won't be disappointed. read more

What can I say that hasn't been said before... Chris and his entire team were wonderful to work with. Extremely professional, polite, always on-time. The entire process from design, to demo of the old dry-rot wood patio cover to installing the new Alumawood patio cover was great. Chris was always reachable and easy to communicate with. We realized after his team had gone that the lights were cool-white instead of warm-white. Chris came back and replaced all the lights himself. Other companies will take your money when the job is done, and you'll not be able to get a hold of them. Chris's after sales and post-install support has been fantastic. If you're considering getting a patio cover - hire him. He's reasonably priced - even if you pay a bit more you'll save yourself headaches compared to other contractors. read more

If you're in the market for a new patio cover, don't hesitate to call Chris "The Patio Man". My wife and I bought our new home a year ago, and the whole year I kept wanting to get a new patio cover. The wood patio cover that was here when we purchased, was too big for our liking and a bit too dark for us. I called around getting quotes from different companies, and after Chris came by for our quote, I was sold. Out of all the companies that gave us quotes, "The Patio Man" was right in the mix, but what set Chris over the top, was not only his knowledge, but his whole personality. Chris wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell us on his patio covers. He gave us the most options and just was very patient while we took our time trying to decide what we were going to do. He never once made us feel like we were wasting his time when we called to ask questions, at one point he even came by to show us a piece of the Alumawood solid patio cover and showed where it would be placed, how far out it would go and how high the ceiling would be. Not only was Chris outstanding, but his crew was just as incredible. I spaced and forgot the gentleman's name that came to demo our old patio cover was a true workhorse. He tore down our old cover, and it took most of the day, but he made it happen, and cleaned up real well after he was done. The next day, Chris's crew came out, the 2 of them were extremely respectful and just great guys. They got to work, not wasting any time. I thought it was going to take most of the day, but in actuality they were done in just a few hours. Everything turned out much better than expected. The LED lights are a fantastic touch, they are dimmable which is a huge plus. We are so pleased with everything Chris "The Patio Man" and his crew did for us. We are so in love with our new patio cover and are looking so forward to finishing up the landscape in the back yard so we can have plenty of backyard bbq's during the summer under our new Alumawood patio cover!! read more

We got 4 quotes and Chris, not only was his the most competitive, but he also included repairing our balcony. The others simply said to tear it down as they were sure we never used it. The workers were great and Chris checked on the work every day and went beyond to make sure we were happy. Even after all was paid and we had a few minor tweaks needed Chris was there. We love our patio! The railing on the balcony is stunning, the heaters on the solid cover side have allowed us to be using the patio in November/December. Highly recommended! read more

My parent's house had an old patio cover with lots of termite damages here and there. So we called many places to get a quote, and out of 5 to 6 places we called, we decided on The Patio Man. If you are looking to change your patio cover, don't waste your time, call The Patio Man, you will not be disappointed. Here are the reasons: 1) The Patio Man is an owner-operated business, decisions can be made on the spot 2) The company is local, not from out of the area. 3) Chris is the most knowledgeable and the most straightforward out of everyone we interviewed. We asked a few difficult questions, and Chris answered right away without any hesitation, which shows he is super experienced and delivered fully. 4) Chris recommended reverse rafter for the new installation which NO ONE else mentioned during the interviews turned out to be the best recommendation ever. My parents love it! 5) Everyone from Chris to the crew (both demolition and installation) were on time, professional, and courteous. Since everyone's needs are different we capitalize on many years of experience in providing unique and beautiful designs to fit our customer's taste and budget. Incorporating building techniques I have learned over the years with wood patio covers into Alumawood patio covers gives us a greater variety of styles than most of the competition.

History

Established in 1978.

I worked for The Patio Man as an installer for many years. In 2001 Dave, the owner, wanted to retire and move to Florida but was under contract with At&T for an expensive Yellow Page ad. Prior to the internet and Yelp this was the only effective method of advertising. I agreed to take over the advertising and although I was an expert installer by this time, was taught by Dave how to quote projects and order the various building materials for high quality patio covers.

However, the way this company has handled a clear mistake is extremely disappointing. During installation, their team drilled into the tile on our second-floor balcony and failed to seal the holes. When it rained shortly after, water came through those openings and caused damage to the ceiling in our dining room below. This was entirely preventable and directly tied to the installation. What's more concerning is what happened next. I've spent weeks trying to get this resolved. I've been in contact with their employee (Elizabeth), who acknowledged the issue and repeatedly said it would be taken care of. Despite those assurances, there has been zero follow-through. Communication has been inconsistent at best, and more recently I've been completely ignored. At this point, the issue is no longer just the damage; it's the lack of accountability. Mistakes happen. Ignoring a customer after causing property damage is a much bigger problem. If you're considering this company, just be aware: the install may go well, but if something goes wrong, you may be on your own. I'm still hoping they step up and resolve this properly, but based on my experience so far, I would proceed with caution.

I just had my patio cover and deck done by The Patio Man, and the owner, Christ, did a very good job. The price was very reasonable and within my budget. He used good quality lumbers, pre-selected, primed and painted them before start building the deck and the patio. After the sturcture was built, he painted and touched up again and make the finshed product looked beautiful. Once the work was completed, he cleaned-up all the trash and powered washed the whole area and everything looks neat and clean when he left. The whole project was done within the estimated time frame except a couple of days delayed due to rainning. Christ is very experianced contractor, he gave me many good suggestions about the designs of the deck and patio, and I went with his recomandations and it came out great. Chris and his team were outstanding!! We love the patio covers. He had some great ideas in terms of changing the look of the patio cover. We have had several social gatherings since the patio cover was installed and have received many nice comments from everyone that visits. In terms of work and workmanship - outstanding! Chris and his team arrived when they said he said they would, completed the work, when he said they would, and even went beyond to patch up and paint the house wall where the old wood patio attached. The job was complete when it was done - nothing left to "nitpick" about. My wife and I felt very satisfied with the fair price for the work and materials.
