I ate dinner here a few weeks ago on a Sunday night and experienced the worst service. First, when I came in nobody greeted me at the door. I wanted to sit at the bar but it was very crowded due to the Irish band playing. So I asked the bartender if I sit at one of the high tops in the bar area will a server come and take my order. She said yes but I waited patiently for almost 10 minutes then I asked the bartender if someone was going to come over. She said yes. Waited for another 10 mins then I waved down a server and said can I order a drink and some food? She said yes, I'll be right back. Waited another 5 mins. then someone finally came over and took my order. Honestly, I would have prob. walked out after being ignored for 5 mins but had to catch a train and Malverne really doesn't have many options. Sorry, I grew up in this town and used to love coming here when it was Ickle Bickles but this is a poorly run establishment. Somebody should tell them customer service is the most important thing jn the hospitality industry. read more

Place has an old time traditional feel to it. Food is pretty good and above average for some things such as the steak, the french onion soup, and the ribs were also very good. I have been contested on my feelings for their Burger by a friend; however, I enjoy the Burger at Connolly Station very much!!! I think because its simple...I am so tired of all the crap these places put on the burgers and then hit you up for a 16 dollar burger that is dwarfed by a Quarter Pounder with Cheese from All American in Massapequa that costs you under three bucks!!! Its a great Pub to hang at, cozy bar, low ceilings, and again a classic Pub feeling whether you sit at one of the 100 year old booths, or the bar to eat. read more

Very disappointed with my order tonight ordered Sheppard pie and a soup, didn't get the soup. This is the 2nd time I didn't get my entire order. I was perusing these reviews and got to one by A.S. - those initials stand for more than your name, As(s). How can you begin a review by saying a Pub can only rate 3 stars? You're reviewing the Pub against other Pubs, not Delmonico or Le Cirque, you tool! Now that that's out of the way...my wife and I have come here twice - for brunch the last two New Years days. Each time, we've been treated to an almost empty establishment with friendly service and soft seasonal music. The menu is completely open, including specials or the regular Sunday brunch menu which consists of an entree and unlimited (huge points!) Bloody Mary's, Screwdrivers or Mimosas. On our recent visit, I had a fantastic Chicken Pot Pie, with an immense puff pastry crust. My (7 months pregnant) wife enjoyed a beautiful 8oz Shell Steak w/Eggs and my 2 year old son had a Kids menu Chicken Tenders. We also shared an order of fried Zucchini sticks with horseradish sauce. Each of us was left stuffed and I was left tipsy from my 4-5 complimentary screwdrivers. The bill was under $60 - a steal for a brunch menu with unlimited drinks. Highly recommend this place for Sunday/holiday bunch or a night of friendly drinking and eating. Tons of Parking right next to the Malverne LIRR station. read more

Been going here for years. Good pub food Burgers chicken and my favorite steak tidbits on garlic bread. I go here every month or two and that's all I get and it's always perfect. Steak is tender garlic bread is perfect and a little pricey it will be about 16 bucks for the tidbits with fries or onion rings but definitely always good quality meat. Service can be a tad slow and metered parking can be a little tight. read more

Left the shuttered Koenigs in Floral Park and drove down to Connelly's to eat. Needed an old standby to assuage our disappointment. Ordered the chicken Madeira and my son the chicken cordon blue. A local favorite in Malverne village thats's been around for many many years but this was actually my first time at this old-school Irish establishment and I can see why they've been around forever, it's exactly what an Irish pub/restaurant should be, super friendly Bartender staff especially Natalie who waited on my brother and i on New Year's Day,She Was so friendly and attentive making us some great potent drinks including a nice bullet Manhattan and the beer was ice cold out of the tap,We were starving so we ordered up some wings and mozzarella sticks, the mozzarella sticks were fantastic with the marinara sauce, very cheese pull worthy! LOL, the wings were delicious as expected, good crunch with nice meat on the inside smothered in plenty of buffalo wing sauce with a little kick!The place was very quiet as I assumed everybody was hung over from the night before, Lol just some locals at the bar and a couple families came in later for dinner sitting in what looked to be a very nice dining area with private wooden booths in a cozy dim lit ambience,Looking forward to coming back and having a nice shepherds pie real soon! read more

My husband and I have been here a few times for dinner. Or I should say we have tried to come here a few times for dinner. On Friday, March 23 we came in and were seated at a booth with menus. We decided what we would like and placed our menus at the end of the table. No one came to the table To ask about drinks or let us know the specials. We sat there for 10 minutes waiting. At that time another table was seated at the table across from ours. Within 2 minutes a waitress was at their table taking drink orders. We waited an additional 5 minutes to see if she would come by. She walked right by us without another word. We promptly got up to leave. The hostess who had seated us saw us getting up but did not come over to address the reason that we were leaving. I wasn't happy qith their dinner for Valentine's Day.. I went to Connolly Station for dinner last night for Valentine's Day and I must say it really was not that great at all.. We ordered the Porterhouse Steak 20oz split it, which had a lot of fat and grizzle on it and for a Porterhouse steak that's not rare.. The onion soup was so salty and they threw in a beef bouillon cube that you can smell to high heaven, which we sent back of course.. Had Margaritas that were in small glasses , I mean small, which the waitress said were $7 each..but was charged $8 and she said because we had ice.. my salad was good, plain salad and the mashed potatoes were okay, a little bit salty and whipped a bit much. I'm almost 40 and haven't been here since I was 21 doing Irish Car Bombs. Tonight was the first tint back. Decor is still the same dark wood.. but it's cozy. Mozzarella sticks were delish. I got a regular cheeseburger medium rare and it was cooked perfect. Delicious. My date got the Irish burger, and said it was great. Finished w an Irish coffee and cookies and cream ice cream Truffle. Yet another neighborhood place here in Malverne that we hadn't tried yet since our move here last year. As I would walk past Connolly's, I would always think it's just a bar. When my wife and I decided to give the place a shot tonight, we were more than pleasantly surprised. The hostess brought us to a super comfortable and private wooden booth, and we joined about 50 other folks in their booths in the dining room enjoying a lovely evening. Lots of couples, friends, and families were there, all happy and laughing and eating their food. I haven't been in such a laid back and comfortable restaurant environment in a long time. Our server Jennifer was so sweet and friendly, talking about the different food options and the neighborhood in general. Even the bus staff was friendly and extremely attentive. On to the food. We started with medium wings and jalapeño poppers. The wings were meaty and crispy with good spice - and the poppers were hot and tasty. I had a pint of Guinness that was fresh and nicely poured. We moved on to some classic pup cheeseburgers. The patties were nicely flavored and cooked medium as asked - served on a toasted brioche bun along with tomato and red onion. They came with a fries and onion ring mix (great fries!) and really hit the spot. The menu has a lot of options and we are looking forward to coming back again. Five stars for excelling at what they are - a friendly neighborhood Irish pub with quality food to match. Great place, great staff. read more

Dingy, dirty and dark. Bar flies, gnats and stale beer in the air. If this is your style for dining then this is the place for you. Been here a few times over the last 5 years. Seems to have gotten worse as time goes on. On a previous dining experience we had asked the waitress for Mac n cheese for our 4 year old. She said its not on the menu but she'd ask the kitchen. They wouldn't do it. I asked if they had noodles, butter and American cheese and I would put it together at the table. We were refused again? Crazy. Came here on a Tuesday cause our other "go to" spots were closed. My wife ordered a blackened shrimp Caesar wrap and I had fish n chips. The shrimp wrap had a whopping grand total of 4 small shrimp in it as it was mostly all overdressed lettuce. The shrimp were also not blackened, they were barely seasonal at all. The fish n chips were ok at best. The main reason for this review is the ketchup. That's correct the ketchup. I began to try to pour some ketchup on my plate for the fries and had some difficulty. Eventually it started to come out along with some French fries that were clearly smashed into the bottle by a previous diner. When the waitress came back to check on us, we told her what happened with the ketchup. She laughed it off and informed us the at some kids the night before were seated at our booth and she could tell they were up to something. She then walked away leaving the contaminated ketchup and small plate (with all the contaminated ketchup and gross fries) at the edge of the table where I had placed it after wiping it from my dinner plate. We were assuming she went to get us a fresh bottle of unopened (at least debris /old food free) ketchup, but she didn't return for another 15-20 mins empty handed. Clearly we wanted ketchup, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. The ketchup remained on our table edge until we signed the tab and left. We didn't stick around for the exciting conclusion, but I can pretty much guarantee that bottle of contaminated, dirty ketchup is still at that booth. Perhaps they wiped the outside of the bottle, but who knows. They certainly didn't remove and trash it immediately like it should have been. Connolly's cleanliness practices need some serious attention. There are several other local bar/pub restaurants in the area that have much cleaner environments. I urge anyone looking for "bar food" to go elsewhere, that is unless you enjoy rolling the bacteria dice and eating off of some random children's hands. We are not uptight fanatical people looking for Michelin star quality food and service from a local pub, but seriously, taking into consideration what we have been through since Covid one would think some businesses would step their cleanliness game up, not the other way around. Best of luck to Connolly's in the future (as we support many local businesses), but this was without a doubt the last time we ever set foot in there. read more

I have only ordered take out here twice and was disappointed both times. The first time I ordered a Reuben and it was served with mustard instead of thousand island dressing. How could they not know? I let it go and recently thought I would try them again, this time for just a burger. I asked to be prepared medium-well and it was well done and a little burnt on top. The burger was dry and the bun slightly burned so I threw it out. They also failed to give me ketchup for my fries. Never again. read more

My sister and I stumbled into this place after attending a funeral. At first glance we were sure we would have a few beers and some bar food. What a pleasant surprise. Nice menu options and the food was outstanding. Calamari was fresh and the French Onion Soup was absolutely delicious. My sister had the 10oz and I had Chicken Frances with veggies. The food was amazing and certainly comforting after the day we had. Our waitress was extremely attentive and provided outstanding service. If ever in the area we will for sure return. Had bowling plans down the block, decided to stop in and grab some food and drinks before heading over and so glad I did. Prices are great and portions are big! I had the reuben and my hubby had steak. We started off with the fried zucchini app and some beers. Service was very quick and our waitress was super nice. Honestly, I have only good things to say about this place. My dearest wife and I ordered the french dip and a chicken quesadilla and each had half of each plate. Both were delicious. I asked the waitress if there was happy hour (5 o'clock) and she looked at me like I had ten heads, so I opted for an iced tea rather than pay probably $7 or $8 for some beers and ride up the bill.... My only complaint is a very loud patron, that often sits at the bar, using the "F" word. It's not the word that bothers me, but this is family restaurant, and always has kids and elderly patrons. Great local place that has a wide variety menu and gives back to the community; has renovated beautifully right before COVID hit; and stayed open to feed our village and the surrounding area during that time. Connolly's employs so many local residents and teenagers - my 3 included - and they make great $ and learn the value of hard work and customer service. Short staffed during COVID, if you are friendly and polite, any order can be changed or taken off your bill. I think everyone should work in the food service industry - then they will understand all the things that go in to running a great establishment. This is one! I've eaten there in the past and found the food pretty good. But...tonight we ordered baby back ribs, which was delicious in prior years and absolutely dried out, chewy and difficult to even cut the ribs apart with a steak knife. After finding it hard to swallow the one dry piece of rib meat, which resembled one of those hot overcooked chickens left over in a supermarket, I sent it back. It was replaced with a delicious piece of salmon of a generous size. My boyfriend's London Broil was very chewy, but we didn't want to go to the trouble of also sending that back. I shared my salmon with him and we went out for pizza after to make up for the missed dinner. We were very disappointed in the food tonight! read more

If you find yourself stranded by the Malverne LIRR station or plan on going bowling by Sandee Lanes or live in the area and enjoy a fresh pint, Connolly Station meets the bill. It's a cozy Irish pub with booths for a meal, a small bar fixed with several small screens to catch a game, a stretch for darts, music player, and if you look hard enough, the nudie photo hunt. All the essentials, if you will. Bartenders were friendly as were the patrons here. I enjoyed my pour of Sam's Winter Lager here. My visit was brief, but I'd say prices are your standard $6/pint. I wouldn't label this a great place to watch Sunday football since the screens are small, but if you're in between plans, waiting for a train, pulling in after work, or here for Irish brunch then this place is welcoming by all standards. read more

Connolly Station is a place where I don't mind spending time for some drinks and appetizers. On a couple of occasions, the music has been unacceptably loud; however, that is mostly offset by the generally clement vibe of an older crowd. The drinks are decent, and most of the staff members whom I've encountered have been pleasant and attentive. Other pubs are in closer proximity to my dwelling; if that wasn't the case, I could see myself wandering here for a relaxing afternoon once in awhile. However, I just cannot hop on-board (Hah...) with the majority of the food. For years, (actually decades, but I don't necessarily rely on my childhood taste buds to guide a Yelp review) I have sampled a different option each time with hope for improvement (as I am wheedled into visiting approximately once per year), and I am always left with the same impression: If some of the food here isn't frozen and simply heated in the oven or microwave, it tastes as though it is. Upon my most recent visit, the fries fell into this category. Even my husband said that the fries were "off," and you'll find no trace of my partner on Yelp. We were a party of 6. We came here on a recommendation. Everything was so delicious. When you sit, they bring to you joy bread and Irish soda bread. It was so delicious. I ordered the cheddar bacon burger. ...delicious. we also had the garlic steak tidbits and chicken tidbits which looked outstanding. All the food was finished completely with stuffed bellys!!!!! I have never been here before. Met some friends here on Sunday night. We got there first and got a table in the back. The place had a nice ambience to it. Not too crowded in the dining area but bar was crowded. Our friends arrived and out waitress Christine, A very nice person took our drink order. We did get separate checks so we got seafood bisque soup which was excellent. Turkey club sandwich with fries and chicken tidbits with fries. Everything was really good. The friendly service, food and the atmosphere. The prices were not overly high either. We finished everything off with a piece of cheescake and coffee. As we were finishing up, the place started to get crowded. I would definitely recommend this place and will return. read more

Connolly's is a great local bar with friendly bartenders and a welcoming atmosphere. The crowd here is older, not many young people hanging around even on a Friday or Saturday night. If you are looking for a bar with a dance floor and a bunch of immature college kids trying to impress each other, maybe you should go some place else. If you want to sit, relax, and have a good time drinking while hanging out with a few of your buddies, then go to Connolly's. It's a good place to begin or end an evening of drinking if you decide to go bar-hopping. There are plenty of televisions scattered throughout the bar if you want to watch the big game or local news, and on those nice evenings you can sit outside in the patio area and enjoy your food or drinks. The food served here is traditional bar food. Don't come here expecting a gourmet meal. If you decide to eat here, stick with the fried foods...chicken wings, calamari, Irish nachos, french fries, etc. Very hard to mess those up. read more

This restaurant is the go to place for relaxing and a great reasonable meal. When my mom passed away in February 2020, this is the restaurant we went to in between the viewing. I literally came to them 48 hours before and they did a magnificent job. The food was great, the service was great and I must mention that Jen is the one that put it all together for me, telling not to worry about anything. She was right! There is a certain atmosphere, which makes it a little more unique than the normal diner. I walked away with a full stomach and the prices were not bad. The only negative is that we had to pull the waitress over to our table, but considering it is a saturday night, I will let it pass. read more

This is a great Irish pub with excellent food. I'm originally from Iceland and I'm a big fish snob. I rarely order fish at restaurants because I'm always disappointed but never at Connelly's. The fish here is always fresh and delicious! Highly recommend their seafood. The specials on their menu are always excellent too. read more
