I came here with my daughter on a Saturday afternoon. The place was empty. We asked for a booth and were seated promptly. The waitress watched us sit in the booth. After about 5 minutes she came back and said, "I told you to sit in the other booth because this table has a reservation". Uhhh? What? Okay. I wasn't purposely disobeying orders but, you saw us sit in the booth and said nothing for 5 minutes? We moved to the other booth. (There was nobody in the restaurant). We ordered a burger and chicken fingers. The burger came without any lettuce, tomato, or onion. The waitress wasn't rude but, was not friendly or welcoming at all.Maybe they aren't used to having kids in there? I wanted to get out of there as quick as possible. Place is okay, but I had a bad experience. My girlfriend and I sit at the bar (Both of us are 23) and the bartender asks for our IDs. My gf is from out of state and she looks at us and rudely says "go try somewhere else" I really believed she was joking with us. She told us were both underage and had to leave, I have lived in Malverne for most of my life and have gone here so many times with my family. I've been to Connolly station several times in the past few years. Each visit gets worse and worse. Yesterday will be my last time there. A pub that can't master basic bar munchies shouldn't even be in business. Buffalo chicken tenders should be renamed Double Microwaved buffalo chicken tenders. The chicken was so chewy, gray and inedible that it's hard to imagine they would serve it. My nachos were stale and glued together by hardened melted cheese. The chili they served with it looked like a can of Heinz baked beans with a minuscule amount of beef. Truly gross. Chicken quesadilla wasn't too bad but loaded with red onion as was the nachos. Such a shame. Connollys is in a great location and has a legitimate Irish pub feel. But is the worst dining experience I've had in years. I feel bad leaving such a bad review but I don't suppose they felt bad about taking my money and serving me food that was something out of Gordon Ramsey kitchen nightmares read more

Great, oldtimey local Irish pub. Friendly service. Very decent pub grub. A juke box that has the download option. Live music on weekend nights (check their schedule as i'm unsure which nights). They have TVs right behind the bar for sports but not very big TVs and u have to look straight up with the lights shining down, so not the most comfy place to view a game but adequate enough. Some friendly tips for the bar: Get better olives for your martinis. The current ones are tiny and taste like wax. Maybe bigger ones stuffed with pimentos or something? A bigger/more varied beer selection would be appreciated. Even a few new ones in bottles if u don't have room on the taps. read more

This is an old school Irish Pub with a great Sunday brunch. The onion soup the Reuben sandwich, onion soup and bloddy Mary were the best that I have had in a long time. Around 7pm this evening we walked in to the restaurant. This was our first time and I was excited because I didn't have to cook/clean! It was unclear where to go since there was no hostess stand or sign. I figured it out quickly. I asked a lady if she was waiting to be seated and she said yes. A waitress came over and seated the couple in front of us. Not one word or hello was spoken to me or my family! Not even a smile. We stood there for 10 minutes without being greeted! We weren't the only ones. There was a family of five behind us waiting to be seated. I drive past this place twice a week and had been looking forward to trying it out. Ate there last night with 3 others and it exceeded expectations. It is what it is which is a local Irish pub. Everything we ordered was delicious, my salmon was a 10!!!! I cannot believe all the items on the menu, we ordered 7 different things and all were a Hit. Jerry the owner really sets a nice mood in the place, very local, very happy. i'm sad connolly's doesn't have a presence on yelp! i will be the first to review. this is a cute little restaurant/pub right next to the malverne train station. you can feel the chairs and floors vibrate whenever a train comes in and out, which is part of the charm. it's a local favorite - my good friend from the area has been coming to connolly's for years. she swears by their burgers and gets them every time. i can say that the jalapeno poppers are yummy and the salads are fresh and good. it's good bar food and it's fun to sit in the big wooden booths! the waitstaff is super nice, and they have good beer on tap. now i know 2 places to drink in LI, croxley's ale house, and here. read more

What can I say, I love Connolly's! The staff here is always friendly and provide quick service. The drinks are decently priced and they have a good selection of beer on tap. They have great food (my favorite is the Connolly burger). After initially eating here and be extremely underwhelmed I got dragged back. I decided to order something simple, chicken tenders and fries, because how can they screw that up? There was a puddle of grease in the bottom of my basket of fries and the chicken was thin, curvy, rubbery, and not the slightest bit crispy. If you want to succeed I'd recommend canning your chef. If your lucky you can get a good steak dish here with a fresh veggie but I found not consistently good, they will serve you late at night which can be a plus. The rest of the menu including the specials and appetizers, I have had, and my family have complained about "sub par", but who expects a gastronomic treat at an Irish pub anyway? Went on a Sunday evening when they had a band. Early on the band played several Irish tunes that could be danced to - waltzes, the Gay Gordon, even a couple of figures from the Connemara Set. Later, Irish songs were exuberantly sung, and the dance music included jive/swing. The lively, versatile band kept the bar crowd engaged. I ate the salmon and it was tender and rightly cooked. The staff were pleasant and attentive enough, however, I'm subtracting a star because a number of wrong items were brought out. For example, a request for no cucumber in the salad was ignored. A request for no ice in the drink was ignored. A request for a club soda was replaced with a coke ( although this was cheerfully rectified). It seems that listening skills need to be worked on a bit to upgrade the service level. But fun place, and definitely going back! read more

Connolly Station is a great, casual, classic Irish restaurant/pub. Great food, great Guinness on tap (as some places do not know how to pour, Connolys does not disappoint). Wings are very, very good. Classic Irish pub fare ranging from fish and chips, to a personal favorite the Connolly burger (Irish bacon, cheese, and BBQ sauce), to chicken sandwiches, I have never had a bad meal. Very affordable prices, large portions, great service, clean, it checks every box. Nice Irish pub decor as well, as well as live music on weekends. Five stars...went there today...this afternoon before the Valentine Day crowd arrived. Our first time in the town of Malverne. I have to say, the waitress was as sweet as can be...helpful and def. efficient. I had the fish and chips - OMG it was sooooooooooooo good. My partner had the Shepard Pie. She loved it but could only eat half. Our desserts were average, ice cream and mine apple pie (with cinnimon) and ice cream. Yes, we will go back there again. We came to the town for the movies. let me preface this review by saying it was definitely not my idea to eat at connolly station on a tuesday night about a month ago. my father apparently had a free entree coupon. haven eaten here before, i understand why they are giving food away. this review, however is about the complete lack of customer service at this establishment. two bartenders, one waitress--not a look, a wave, no idea two people were standing at the door. these front of house people are completely oblivious as to whats going on. the young lady waitress was amazing enough to pop out and kiss her boyfriend, makes eye contact with me, then walks away never to be seen again. this place, i already knew, was not worth a wait. sadly, we left... one less free dinner to prepare. oh and i also called about an hour later to try to talk to someone who gave a crap... all i found was an older woman who said she may have been in the kitchen the entire ten minutes we were waiting. left name and number for a manager who wasnt "present" on that shift. never heard back. wear blinking lights is you want these employees to notice you. all in all, connolly station is NOT a stop you want to make! read more

My husband Mike and I have been going to Connolly's for over 12 years now and it is our most favorite pub ever!! We always bring our friends here for dinner and drinks almost once a week. I've never had a bad meal here because they have a little bit of something for everyone! I was told the fish is brought in fresh every day so I tried the salmon and it was delicious! Definitely does not taste like it was frozen.. I'd definitely recommend the steak tidbits, french dip, burgers and their specials are always changing as well as always amazing!! Plus, we are cider drinkers and only real authentic Irish pubs have Magners on tap. Connolly's is one of the only pubs I know that does! The feel of the whole place is just warm and inviting! It kind of feels like you are over in Ireland! I love all the waitresses, bartenders and bus boys as well. They have become our family over the years and they are always friendly to us every time we go in. So if you ever happen to stop by in Malverne, pop into Connolly's Station for a quick bite to eat and some drinks. I highly recommend it!! read more

This is a great place to go to hang with the locals for drinks and food, though I wish the food was just a tad better, it's not bad, but not outstanding either. Great food! The decor is a little dated, but it's a small quaint place. It's right next to the train station, but that line doesn't run very frequently and does not have service on the weekends so it's doesn't interrupt your meal. Great place to get a beer too! read more

Tried this place a few times a couple of years ago and stopped going because the food was not good . Gave it another try today and was highly disappointed. Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a finicky customer. I rarely complain or send back food. I ordered the fish and chips and it tasted like frozen, Gorton's type fish sticks . It had a horrible taste and odor, so I sent it back in exchange for a cheeseburger, cooked medium. What I got was a barely cooked burger, bleeding all over, that tasted horrible. Again, it tasted like it came out of the frozen section of the supermarket. My mom ordered the skirt steak and shrimp and was not impressed. My daughter's grilled cheese left a lot to be desired. And I should also mention the many flies hovering around our table as we were trying to eat . Needless to say I will not be going back for dining purposes. I guess it would be a good place just to get drinks and listen to the music. read more

Had dinner here this past weekend. I was really looking forward to it since I had heard it was a nice place. I ordered a Bloody Mary to start. When the waitress brought my drink I did a double-take. Bloody Marys are usually served in a tall glass with a celery stick. This one came in a short glass with a lot of ice, no celery, and it tasted like shrimp. I had about three sips and pushed it aside. For dinner I chose the Chicken Pot Pie which came with a salad. The salad consisted of some iceberg lettuce, a few slices of tomatoes and red onions. The chicken pot pie was a bit dry. When it came to dessert, I ordered the apple pie. I was then informed by our waitress that it was actually apple crumb cake and that they also did not have the Black Forest Cake that was listed on the menu. They were in the process of changing their menu. The coffee was decent. I couldn't help but notice that the gentleman at the table next to us sent his dinner back because it was too overcooked. He chose not to order anything else. There was a group of middle-aged women two tables away from us that insisted on shouting at each other instead of speaking in normal tones. I guess it didn't bother them that the whole restaurant was privy to their conversation. I found it to be pricey considering the quality of the food, drink and service. Will not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

We've been eating out regularly since the kids are grown and gone but we had never had a meal here until yesterday. The Saturday early bird special was not a disappointment. The restaurant was clean and the service was excellent. We enjoyed every morsel of food and $6 for a glass of wine is a sufficient incentive to try this restaurant. However, our party was seated in a booth that required a 'two step up' climb. Not sure why all the booths are elevated but there are plenty of tables Try it. You'll like it! read more

I'd really like to give a rating of ZERO but there isn't an option for that. Let me start off by saying I've been to this place before and never had an issue. However, came to have dinner with my sister here last night Feb 23, 2016 around 530pm and it was by far the absolute worst dining experience of my life. I'm not talking about the food but the customer service. The waitress only spoke to us to take the order and give us the check. That problem arose with the check. My sister and I decided to split the bill and I put in more than half the bill in cash and she put in her card for the rest. She brought back the bill with the ENTIRE bill charged to my sister's card and all the cash I put in was gone. This waitress stole the cash, mind you it was over 50% of the bill and tried to trick us into paying for our bill solely with the card. Obviously livid, we questioned the waitress whose response was " Oh I didn't realize and we can't do anything about the charges on your card now". We just got all cash back and left. Now this waitress must be one of 2 things, 1. a thief or 2. an absolutely idiot who can't count money. I bet on the first. Either way she should not have a job that gives her access to people's money and credit card info because if she was so brazen to pull this, its not difficult to believe that she's done it before and may have even stolen customers' credit card info as well. . We will never go back there again and will tell everyone we know if you value the security of your hard worked money dont come here because if you dont pay attention they are most likely stealing your money. read more
