I usually stop here for drinks while awaiting reservations at dirty taco down the block but there have been a few times where the waiting was too long that I ended up eating here & I was not at all disappointed! Their French onion soup is amazing & make a great Margarita. Definitely a solid choice if you're in Rockville center

Sat at the bar and had wings and a Goat Cheese Salad with chicken. Both came out well prepared and tasted very good. A little hint of heat on the BBQ wings (just right) and the salad had a nice preparation to it.

First time there. Sat at the bar. Nice laid back atmosphere. The bartender, John was great. Poured some beautful pints and engaged in some friendly conversation. Burgers and steak tid bits were excellent. Will be back again soon!!!

64 degrees terrible in late September it was freezing.

The food is great ! But honestly the service was terrible and it is September and it is cold out and the AC was blaring at 64 degrees and when we asked if they could lower it we were told no they cannot. Eating was super uncomfortable!

After a bad day of work, sometimes you just want, no, NEED, gluttonous bar food. I NEEDED wings and fries, but I didn't want them to be bad. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by Monaghan's since it is so close to the train station. Inside you will see an average Irish pub with basic Irish fare. My boyfriend and I split: Wings (not the best wings I've had, but they were good) Ribs (a little tough, but the honey/soy sauce it was covered with was delicious) Rueben Sandwich (a little greasy but otherwise tasty) It was very empty the whole time we were there, which was kind of nice. The waitress was very friendly. So far my favorite spot for bar food in the area. Not crowded with a million people getting crappy 10 cent wings at certain other bars (who shall remain nameless).

Lovely place. Good food. Staff very friendly and attentive. They don't honor the free drink check in--told me it expired.

Stopped into Churchill's for a late lunch on a Thursday. While the bar area was buzzing, the dining…read moreroom was quiet and empty. We opted for the dining room, which has a cool, broody, tavern-like vibe with nice wood accents. Service was absolutely stellar. I asked to substitute a side that wasn't officially an option, and our waiter went out of his way to check with the kitchen and make it happen. Much appreciated! For appetizers, the mac and cheese was served hot and fresh with a great breadcrumb topping, and the pretzels were pure perfection--the accompanying cheese cup and fabulous mustard were a huge hit. For our mains, we ordered black bean patties, a burger, and a salad topped with grilled chicken. Zero complaints across the board. The burger and veggie patties were massive--plenty big enough to take half home for later--and came with a side of perfectly salted, thick-cut fries. Best of all, we never felt rushed or bombarded by our waiter, which is truly becoming a lost art. Highly recommend!

My wife is blond and my hair is as white as the driven snow. I showed it to the waiter. He presented us with a $20.00 gift card. A few weeks later we went again. My wife had a chicken cob salad and she liked it. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich. The bread was stale, the meat was overcooked and dry and one side of the bread was burned black. The fries were pretty good. There was no reason to tell them about it. Another gift card does me absolutely no good because I won't be back. Great service requires great food and cleanliness. 1 outta 3 just don't cut it.

3-29-26. Went with a bunch of people for Sunday brunch…read more Ordered the French dip sandwich. Pretty mediocre. Roast beef was good, the roll tasted like it was store bought the day before and the au jus was a little on the bland side. French onion soup was just okay. I tasted a few bites of an eggs Benedict that someone else in my party ordered and that was very average as well. Home fries were a little dry and the hollandaise sauce was missing that "pop" I was looking for. The steak tidbits (which was sliced London broil) was alright but again, the hero bread it was served on tasted like it came out of a plastic bag from the grocery store and was possibly a day old (or more). The ambience of the restaurant was pretty cool and it had a rustic vibe to it. We had 2 waitresses and they were both very pleasant and attentive with drink refills and making sure we were taken care of. Overall, I left there somewhat underwhelmed. My 3 star rating is for the entire dining experience and if it wasn't for the really good service we received, I would rate them a little lower.

The food, however, was a bit of a mixed experience. The French onion soup was tasty on its own, but I was disappointed that it was topped with melted mozzarella instead of Gruyère cheese. Without the traditional Gruyère, it really feels more like onion soup than a classic French onion soup. The bread they bring to the table at the beginning was actually very good. Unfortunately, the fried calamari and the cauliflower crust pizza both tasted like frozen food you might buy at a supermarket. They reminded me of something from Trader Joe's rather than freshly made dishes. On the positive side, the Prosecco was excellent -- cold, bubbly, and exactly how it should be. Would I come back? Probably not. If the food tastes like frozen dishes, I could easily have that at home. That said, the total bill was around $60, so the price was reasonable and I can't be too upset about it. Was it worth trying? Yes. Would I return? Probably not -- but I'm glad I gave it a shot.
