You get a call saying you have to come in to the store and resign your paper work due to them not knowing that my stove that I bought uses a universal power cord. telling me if I don't my delivery for tomorrow would be canceled. This is 4 days after I purchased everything spending a little over 8 grand on all new kitchen appliances. Just to arrive and for them to say you never had to leave work to sign anything. ohh I get a token apology after driving 30 minuets one way lose a hours worth of pay and 30 minutes drive back to work. What a horrible return / exchange policy and customer service. We went to buy barstools and when buying the sales representative asked if we needed pub height or countertop and we said countertop and picked out the ones we liked that were "in stock." The next day we were suppose to pick them up but now all of a sudden they were out of stock. The following week we pick them up bring them home and find out we have pub height barstools that won't fit at our island because it's countertop height. Turns out Conns won't exchange them for countertop height and here we are stuck $700 because the sales representative put in the wrong height. Never again!! read more

I ordered a queen bedroom set. I was told it would take 3 weeks to come in. The delivery guys were awesome. However, they were given the wrong order. They had the right cest of drawers, mirror, mattress, and box spring, but the wrong bed. I had to wait another day to get my queen bed. I got the same delivery, guys. very nice, but they were given the right headboard, footboard, and side rails but no slats. One of the delivery guys had to go back to the store to get the slats. When the bed was finally put together and the mattresses were on the bed, it turned out to be a king-size bed. We called Alex the manager and explained that the store made another mistake. Alex apologized and stated that the queen bed was no longer available and wasn't sure when it would be. What he could do was up grade me to a king size mattresses and box spring at no extra charge since they had made the mistake. I would have to wait another 30 days to get the king-size mattress and box spring. I told him I would gladly pay extra if I could get the mattress and box spring in the next few days. Alex told me that he couldn't do it in the next few days because it was their policy that the customer had to wait 30 days. He reiterated that he would take the loss, and I would not pay extra. That was the least he could do. The 30 days were up on 5/19. I called Alex to ask him when I would be getting my mattress and box spring, only to be told that I had to pay another $500.00 because his district manager said that they don't give anything free. I told Alex this was unacceptable because that wasn't what we had agreed on, and not only was it their mistake, not once, twice, but 3 times. I had been waiting almost 2 months for the rest of my bedroom set. Alex said that he could take $200 off, but I had to come to the store to pay on May 22nd so I could get my mattress and box spring on May 24th. On May 24th, the same delivery men showed up. They were shocked that I was barely getting my mattress and box spring, except they only had the king mattress with no box spring. The delivery man immediately called Alex and told him that the warehouse did not put the box spring in their truck. Alex told the delivery guy and myself that if I wanted the box spring, I needed to pay an extra $700 because it was a king size or I could wait another 3 weeks to get the queen bed that I had originally ordered in March. All my conversations with Alex were on speaker phone, and the delivery guys heard every promise that Alex had made, and Alex backtracking and tried to blame their mistake on me. Today is Memorial Day. I have a king-size mattress with no box spring. I do have the queen-size box spring that the delivery guys had to leave because their truck was full, and it wasn't on their manifest to bring it back. Alex called me today, and I just passed the phone to my daughter because I would have called him every name in the book. My daughter said that he kept back peddling and then tried to blame me again. Never buy furniture from Conn's HomePlus. The sales representative at the Tucson store sold us pub height barstools instead of counter height (They should know the difference), and to exchange them it takes store, regional, AND corporate approval. This only happened because they have substandard, uneducated sales reps and mediocre customer service. And that's not the only issue. We only purchased them because they said they had them in stock. After we paid, they told us they were not in stock and we waited over a week for them to come in after getting the run-around from the store manager. How can retail be your business if you have such garbage customer service? Hopefully they allow us to exchange the barstools, but it's not looking good if the "President" of the company has to approve it. read more

We bought a fridge and the delivery drivers were rude as hell but it's there only drivers so we keep seeing them, first the fridge never cooled then they replaced and the very next day the shelf in the freezer shattered overnight and now they wont do anything about that, it's not there responsibility once they leave, there name really does match they are nothing but a con but they will keep on coming until they get sued and go bankrupt which I'm pretty sure wont be to long read more

Okay first of all,this is my first visit to this store. Heard about it and never bother to check it out until received a letter from conn's saying you are pre approved for credit. I check there website all looks good then fill out app and mailed it. One week goes by got call from them saying you are approved. Salewoman on phone ask me to met her at store, we met 3 days later. I decided to get printer and DVD player blueray to start out. Upon enter store, was greeted and told her saleswoman by name then lead me to her. There was no aggressive sale. I said wanted two things that it.she showed them to me and said yes I will want them. While she on computer do paper work, I just wander around to look,there are Variety things and very spacious which I like not too crowd things. The prices tag not too bad. I add warranty for two years and was told if pay off by six months no interest . Store was neat and well lit!! Paper work was done and sign and sign with no sweat,no crying,no make mistakes and no running to mommy. Choice what you like and make payments all with smile..... My experience with conn's was good and with good ah air. Where should I start! RUNNNNNNN If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. I don't want to make this long but I def need to. You will see why. Quick facts: COUCHES ARE UNDER A YEAR COUCHES BECAME A SAFETY RISK FOR MY ONE YR OLD CHILD (Ill explain below) lets start from the beginning. Purchasing the furniture was probably the best experience, because of course they are making money and they are treating you excellent. So the people on the front lines make it seem the company is amazing .... UNTIL you need any repairs. I'm going on a month long waiting period to get my couch repair. Let me explain their ridiculous process. They only use ONE repair furniture company in Tucson which is U.S quality AND they only come out on FRIDAY'S. If you request another day they say you need to contact conns back and request or through WTH (mind you this is the only company they use). This is not the worst part, it gets worst. I call conns back and let me jus make clear that they lack customer service. It's like you're talking to rude and dismissive human beings. They have no CS training skills or people skills. The guy that initially took my repair order blew me away, and not in a good way, with his so call "professional" way of communicating. I couldn't believe it. I was ready to get off the phone with him. My second interaction was when I called conns back to do a follow up with my repair order because it has now become a safety risk for my daughter. She was playing near the sofa when the sofa leg came off AGAIN (for the 30th time, and now waiting for 3 weeks) and she hurt her back and little hand. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I escalated this to CS and asked I needed someone NOW and get this fixed because I cannot allow this couch to be coming lose and injuring those who are around. We temp place the leg back in its whole but it comes off because it's not secured. There are also staples that are exposed from when it came off, that's the reason we TRY to put the leg back in so my child wouldn't try to play around and cut her self. Ends up being that some staples are still exposed because then my dog went down there to get a toy of some sort and he got hurt as well. It is now end of February and I began this ticket in January. It will be 3 months with a broken unsafe couch around my home. The repair company came after a month into the ticket has been issued. And they just ASSESSED the couches. So basically I wanted one month so someone can come and take a look and I need to schedule ANOTHER appointment so they can fix the couch and wait 4-6 weeks for the parts. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE!!! I've talked to the highest person in CS and they kept saying there is nothing they can do although I keep saying it's a safety risk and we are now going on 3 months with this issues. Not to forgot that managers lie to you. She said that the repair techs will come to my home and "determine" if it's a safety risk and they will escalate it. I was upset because I've told them it is and they needed an expert to determine that exposed staples are dangerous. The technician showed and ashes him to please determine if this is unsafe or not and she said they don't do that. I explain what CS told me and he said that information is false they never to that. So basically this lady was lying to me and saying anything she could to get me off the phone and I about had it!!!!! Bunch of lying, unethical people. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! I purchased a 42" Samsung tv & tv stand from this location Jan 2013. I've waited to post a review to make sure everything was ok. 3 months later so far so good. - When I first walked into the store my husband and I were actually in the market for a computer, initially that is what we went there to look at. The first thing I noticed, is the store is pretty big and clean. We walked around for awhile checking out everyting from furniture to washer/dryers to kitchen appliances. We spent a long time looking around, we had a few sales people approach us, but nothing that I would consider pushy. We finally made our way to the computers, specifically the desktop models, they had like 3 or 4. I found one I liked, along with a printer and a computer desk. I waived down a salesperson, who first asked if I had been working with anyone specific because he didnt want to steal anyone's 'sale'- I told him I had not and told him the items I wanted to purchase. He went to the stockroom only to come back and advise he was out the computer and the computer desk. Bummer. We were offered the floor models at a discount, however my husband and I were not interested in purchasing floor models. We continued to look around and I found a Samsung tv- we had been talking about upgrading our 32" to something a little bigger, so the 42" Samsung looked to be perfect. The tv stand we had been using was not big enough for a 42" tv so I started to look at inexpensive stands- I again waived down the same sales guy, told him I was interested in the tv and the tv stand- he went to the stockroom, they had the tv, but did not have the tv stand I wanted. Bummer. I picked out another stand- and this whole thing repeated a few more times, he went to the back to see if they had one, came back out and said they did not. My husband at this point was ready to say forget the whole thing and leave. The sales guy apologized and stated they went through a lot of inventory over the Holidays (we were in the store Jan 1st) -- I finally found a tv stand that we liked AND was in stock....SUCCESS! Next delivery.. We did not want to pay extra for delivery, however I only had my car which would not fit both the tv and the tv stand. They were nice enough to allow us to make two trips to get our items home. we got everything home that night, set it up and everything worked perfectly. 3 months later, the tv still works flawlessly. I go to the store to make my monthly payments because they did not have a payment option on their website. They do now have the option to pay online, but because it is a new system I am hesitant to use it. It is worth the short trip for my peace of mind knowing it is paid and I have a printed receipt in my hand. I have read a lot of reviews regarding their collection practices, to ensure I do not have any experiences with that I make my payments several weeks early. My only close call was my April payment, I got busy and didn't get a chance to make it into the store until April 1st, which is my due date. I made my payment but half expected to still receive calls the next day- no calls have come in today, so I am still happy. my only complaint was the lack of stock in the store- it seems just about every item I wanted was out of stock. They should put up signs on the items that state out of stock or pull the floor model off the floor- this would save their sales reps a lot of back and forth. overall I am happy with the item I have purchased and the limited amount of customer service I have received after the purchase. Out shopping for a new washer and dryer the other day I spied the word "Appliances" on the old Circuit City building as we drove down Broadway. We did a quick u-turn and found ourselves at Conn's. Prior to that point we had no idea this place existed. Up front I'll let you know that I didn't make a purchase here so my review is based on only half the customer experience. We were greeted quickly as we came in the door but not stalked as we walked around. Always a good thing in my book. The salesman explained the current financing and delivery option and then gave us the freedom to explore. The store was laid out nicely and felt spacious. I really dislike cramped stores with stacks of product that you trip over at every turn so this made me happy. Their prices were reasonable, they offer financing specials, etc. like your typical store of this type. My impression is that they don't carry a lot of variety of brands, maybe 3-4 in each category, but they have a wide range of products within each brand. Overall good impression, and I'll definitely check them out again next time I'm in the market for electronics, appliances or furniture. read more

We tried out this place over the weekend and I will have to say-- all in all I am impressed. We were in the market for a new dishwasher as a family with a new baby, my 6 year old GE finally kicked the bucket. A friend suggested that we try this place as we needed a nice one but did not have the cash to buy a new one outright. First I applied for credit on their web site and I was approved?? With my credit, that was a minor miracle. The application online was rather easy and I got an answer in my email box within about half an hour. The next day, my son and I decided to drop by and see what they had. I already had an approved credit app and had decided which dishwasher I wanted (compared online) so it was going to be a quick trip. I did not get accosted when I walked in the door (might happen at other stores but not this one-- at least not yet). We wondered over and looked at the cooktops (which I need one of those too, but not right now) and then right to the left sits the dishwashers. We found the one I saw online and it looked great, so I looked around for someone to help us and could not find a soul. The manager was walking around so he ended up getting us started (nice guy). He then handed us off to a rather bumbling and inept underling. This guy did not have a clue about their POS system and we sat there for a while-- while he tried to figure it out. I also felt highly pressured to buy a warranty with the dishwasher. He was a bit of an a-hole about it. We ended up buying a 2 year just to have him shut the f up. Whatever-- with a new baby and massive loads of dishes, we might end up using it. The delivery guys were much better. They took their time and did a great job. I will definitely shop here again. They have all the brands for the various appliances that you might be looking for. Their prices are good too. The price on the dishwasher was comparable to prices online. We looked at their other merchandise and it looked like to me that their prices were all good-- across mattresses, other appliances, furniture, and electronics. We were in the market for a new refrigerator and after looking at Home Depot and Lowe's, we decided to go to Conn's on Broadway. Good decision. We were met by Richard Roberts, yes, Ricky Bobby in the flesh, and found him to be very professional and laid back. He allowed us to view all of the French door refrigerators on display and when we asked him a question, only then did he step forward to answer us. He pointed out a feature in the LG that is not available in any other brand - the Trimline Ice Maker in the door, rather than in the refrigerator section which frees up space for food. We decided which one we wanted and from there, the entire process was smooth and quickly done. The manager, Pablo, came over and introduced himself as well. Delivery was scheduled for the following day and it too, was professional, smooth and completely satisfying. We saw clearly and experienced the bottom line for this store, for Richard, Pablo and the delivery men - Ricardo and a partner, is Customer Service. Looking for furniture, appliances, electronics - try this store and ask for "Ricky Bobby". You won't be sorry. read more

My wife and I went in knowing exactly what we wanted. We had been told by synchrony that we had a 6k limit that we could use today. Picked out our fridge and when we were filling out the paperwork found out that our synchrony card had not been updated to the home card yet. Both conns and synchrony told us there was nothing they could do even though we had been specifically told we could use our home card today to buy this fridge. We wasted our afternoon and both walked away very frustrated with both companies. Will most likely be cancelling our card and not shopping at conns anymore. I'm surprised this store has more than one star!!! Let me just say, if you plan on financing anything or using their delivery option (which is the only option)- DON'T DO IT! Everything that could have gone wrong with our purchase, went wrong!! We financed a washer and dryer set and it was a nightmare. My boyfriend sat with the salesman for over an hour, who continued to ask him for his SSN and continued to reprint the contract. The only reason we purchased the set from Conn's was because the salesman promised 2 day delivery. However, after the contract was printed for the 3rd or 4th time, my boyfriend noticed that the delivery date on the contract was WELL past the 2 day delivery he promised. He assured my boyfriend that the manager was going to override this, and that the date was simply a default on the contract. Of course, this was a lie. We went almost 2 weeks without a dryer. We kept playing phone games with the delivery company, Conn's customer service, and the store itself and all 2 of them referred us to another department for an answer. After all the headache, the salesman promised my boyfriend FREE removal of our washer and dryer. Well, THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN EITHER. The set was finally delivered and the delivery guys didn't load our old set up. When we called them, they said they were already in route somewhere else and that we would have to contact the store. After multiple phone calls to the store, I got a hold of the salesman who said he would take care of it and it should be picked up by the end of the week. It has been well over 2 weeks and we still have not received a phone call. I am really debating whether or not to try and call again...At this point, my boyfriend would rather load the washer and dryer himself and pay the fee to dump them rather than deal with Conn's again. read more

I was online looking at a few things and saw they do monthly payments. I was trying to get a gift for a family member and couldn't afford it outright, so thought this was a good alternative. They have it saying that no credit or bad credit is ok they will "make it work". I walk in and they ask me to sit down and start to take my information. She states that she wants to run a credit check and see if I can do a credit card. I said sure, thinking they would run it and then either get approved or then we could talk about payments. I got denied for a card, but they she said she needed to run ANOTHER hard check on my credit for payments. Why couldn't you just use the one that you had just run. Two hard checks within 5 minutes of each other? Thats just ridiculous!!! So I decided to just walk out. Went to another store and was approved for payments within 10 minutes. Well, first I have to say that their sales people are VERY aggressive. We actually were followed the first time we came in after politely stating that we just wanted to check out the store. The store is big, clean, well lit and have a nice variety. But, the sales guy was so aggressive that we left. We looked at the site online, applied there for a line of credit. They claim to have "Yes Money" and they will finance almost anyone. let me say that the online app was worthless. They take basic info and then just end up calling you, verifying the info on the phone and then you have to bring in paperwork, paystubs, references, etc. But - whatever - it's all part of the process I guess. So we returned. Soon as we walked in, THREE salesmen started to circle us, almost like vultures. We stopped the closest one, and told him, "yes, we have been here, yes we applied for credit, and please leave us alone so we can look at stuff and decide." he obliged, but managed to stalk us throughout the store and approached us 4 more times. I appreciate trying to make a sale, working on commission, etc but it was too much. But, we also found out that if you don't qualify for their financing, then they refer you to another choice which is managed by RENT-A-CENTER. Um, no thanks. I'm not interested in rent-a-center, rent to own, and paying double for merchandise. So, we told them, thanks but no thanks. So, short story is, only come in if you have a high tolerance for aggressive, pushy salesman and good credit. This establishment is filled with dishonest sales people! I enrolled in the 12months same as cash and was informed by "John" that the loan would not accumulate interest until month 13. I had my final payment of approx $300 dollars for month 13 that I was going to pay off with the added interest for the month but to find out that since I did not pay off within the 12months all the interest that was accumulated for that year was added to my account. So a $300 payoff turned into a $1300 new loan. I called customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do even though it had only been less than a month to resolve the issue. Worst purchasing experience I have ever had! It started off well and we made a decision in 10 minutes - should be easy right? Wrong. Salesman could not seem to get the application right. Told me I would get 12 month interest free if I financed the purchase. So I thought why not? I should have just bought it outright. It took over an hour! I even told him I was about to walk and that the process was painful. He asked me for my social security number at least a dozon times. I finally walked up the main desk at the front of the store and asked for a manager. One gentleman came over to help but he was not a manager. Finally the manager came over but he did nothing to smooth over the situation. Just said that Saturdays were really busy and they have 85 stores. So beef up staff on Saturday, Conn's! I was watching the salesman and he just didn't know what he was doing. In addition he said there would be a survey in a few days, he was more concered about getting his 5 stars than about the customer. Then we realized the salesman didn't put the full order together. So another delay and writing the application again and yes my social another time. He told me that for my inconvenience he would give me the 12 month interest free - didn't he already promise me that? And when it was all said and done, it was only 6 months interest free and there were two tickets opened under my name which meant the delivery guys had two sets of furniture on the truck. So a refund process would have to begin. I will say the delivery guys were great. I had to call the store back and asked for a manager, a supervisor answered and he spoke to the main manager then he called me back in a professional and apologetic manner. Never once did the general manager speak with me following my purchase. They did refund the delivery charge. The delivery I didn't mind paying for because at least that was done correctly. Conn's - Take a lesson from Jared where we had just received exceptional service. The executives of Conn's should immediately come to Tucson's new store and retrain the staff. I received a letter in the mail inviting me to to apply for a line of credit with the company, I was approved for a $3000 credit limit with no money down all i needed was a drivers license and the print out. A store associate called me within the hour to invite me down to the store to shop, they verified the amount and paper work for me that I needed. I drove down on a Saturday morning with my approval paper work, me the wife, and kids picked out a TV we liked, and so we started the finalization process when the computer for the credit amount changes, I spent 3 horrid hours in this store wile the employee tried to straiten out the credit issue it was not the stores fault they fought for me, but the credit office was unbearable and unprofessional on a level that can only be described as gross negligence and blatant incompetence the call center rep was rude aggressive, and should not be in her line of work if she is not a people person. I was told as the customer what my paper work says is not relevant, and not valid and will not be honored. I quote " If I don't like that answer I can take my business, and shove off, to take my business else where." I have never been treated so badly by a company who reached out to me in the first place for credit i didn't go looking for them, they reached out to me to try and gain a customer it makes wonder if they treat all their customers this way and if they do how are they still in business i wont be going back and I'm going to take mine as well as my family's business else where in the future. read more

My experience with Conn's was excellent. My husband and I purchased a number of items from one of their professional sales reps. Although there was a slight problem with the timing of delivery of our items, the rep made it right by running down to my office to get a few more signatures that were needed. At the same time the warehouse called me to say they were sorry for the mix up and would be delivering our furniture tomorrow. I gave 5 stars for the customer service and especially the follow up when their was the slight problem. The furniture is just what I expected and we are very happy customers. As an Immigrant to the united states having a 10y greencard, a job as process manager (fortune 500 company) employed 1y (since I got my greencard),...making twice of the average income of the town. 2 Months ago, I received my first credit card also. Now I thought, go to Conn's and apply for a credit to upgrade to some luxury furniture. Due to the fact that I still have no credit score (due to immigration)..they denied my even for less than half of my monthly income. Reason mentioned by Conn's employee, your social security number is temporary, thats why they denied you. First of all, my social security number is NOT TEMPORARY, it is valid as long as my permanent residency and I will become a US-Citizen anyway before this happens. Conn's credit sniffing is not, what they claim it would be. Making twice of what the average is and not having any debt and they DENY me? Shame on Conn's! read more

Okay this is an update from my original review I think it was worth letting other's know a few things about this place like you must have read in my initial review first impressions were good however this has change a bit.... WARRANTY ISSUE The dishwasher I bought malfunction and I did purchase the extended warranty well it took over a week from them to come and see the dishwasher when asked the reason of my appointment be so far out their response was that they had to contract a 3rd party tech to come out thank god it was something minor it was fixed on the spot not requiring to order parts... CREDIT REPORTING Also I have notice that they report you 30 days late if a payment has not been made within their billing cycle even thought the 30 days late has not passed I'm currently disputing this thru the credit bureaus because I could never get a resolution thru customer service this is why in the future I will not make business with them again. read more

bought an LG French door refrigerator and microwave. Sales people were courteous and made sure all my questions were answered. I have excellent credit so it only took a few minutes to set me up with a Conn's card. Items were promptly delivered the next day, all set up unpackaged and delivery people went through the instructions to operate. They were professional, helpful, clean and quick. I received a follow up call from the manager later that day to make sure I was satisfied. I will shop there again. read more

My husband went in last week to look around for a bed set . A gentle men cane to help him I'm sure he looked lost and confused trying to look for furniture with a 6month old baby and a 2 year old isn't the easiest sometimes. My husband had told me the gentle men was very nice and helpful and proceed to say he would liked for me to go back with him as he thinks I would like a couple of beds sets they had. I went back to the store was was greeted and received excellent service I picked my bed set signed the paper work put our down payment. The bed set was delivered the next day and installed in our master bedroom. Although while processing our paper work the gentle men did get stumped on some online paper work and asked the manger for help and he was very rude and looked younger then this gentlemen that had been helping us out ... the other Magee whom was a women helped us out and read over our paperwork before l leaving (as it was procedure to double check shipping address and items purchased) which was very nice. But still upset that this gentlemen would treat a co worker like shit . Especially in front of a customer. All in all it was a quick and easy process and I will be going back to make another purchase soon read more

DO NOT buy from these people. Do not believe them when they say you get free delivery. It took me 6 months to get my rebate check. They make unauthorized payments on my debit card without my permission. Every time I call their customer service I get transferred 6 times. Go somewhere else and pay more if you have to. This company hires the most incompetent people and they are not interested in making the customer happy. All they want is their money. I finally had to cancel my debit card to stop them from charging it. WORST experience ever!!!!!! read more
