This company is a joke. They "manage" this apt complex (Mediterranean Apts) but can't fix the ongoing issues. BIG PROBLEM here for years is no water because of piping issues. Every single month the water is turned off. I have placed tickets for maintenance since 2022 because there has been this very bad odor coming from the pipes and under our stairs, which leaves us smelling human feces and dead animal throughout the morning and night! Maintenance will come in to check it out and say there is a dead animal under our apt. How many dead animals is there going to be?! It leaves our home and furniture smelling like literal shit! I also placed tickets for our peeling floor, last year there was an over flow in our kitchen sink that lead to the living room, it caused the vinyl flooring to lift. Now we have cuts all over our feet because of the sharp vinyl corners. They still haven't fixed it. Molding on our bathroom walls keeps coming back because the fan doesn't work. read more

My review is as a new tenant...... I just moved into one of the properties they manage in Whittier. My application process was extremely easy I met with Karla at the property and did a walk through, I liked it and applied online an hour later and I was approved by Karla and gave a $500 deposit to hold the unit and take it off the market. I applied 2/23/24 and moved in 3/02/2024. I paid the the remaining balance the day I moved in and picked up my keys. Everything was done through their online portal which I loved and felt like it was so convenient. There were a few issues with the unit in regards to the gas line and a leak, but Karla stayed in communication with me the entire time until it was resolved. They also went above and beyond to replace the water heater, which most management companies would have just left it the way it was until it finally gave out and then replaced it. They also gave me a credit for the days that the gas leak was being repaired which I felt like that was going above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I turned in a couple of work orders and everything was resolved within 48 hours. All of my communication was Via Text and Email, which I prefer. read more

To answer the first paragraph of your response, the homeowner online portal link is not working. 2nd-3rd paragraph, my household did not receive the letter that everyone that is involved is claiming to have sent out. We did receive the form and completed it, attempted to submit it back to Stacey Garcia with no response. We were told not to walk in and submit, but no one answers on the phone when trying to make an appointment. Hence, this review written. UPDATE 1/14/2021 This response is not responsible. It is self-serving and reactionary, instead of problem solving. We had a request in to your company, for they key (for instance) your reps came to assess the building and were to bring the key we paid $50 for! They were literally outside our door. Being reasonable, we did not interrupt. They didn't bother and it took a while longer to get the key. About the elevator; your company has had to review its maintenance records. Ensuring that the HOA sticks to regular maintenance for a problematic elevator is key!!! There are several seniors on the top floor, I and my husband among them. Imagine having issues taking stairs and not having an elevator available to you because someone is moving in!! Imagine an emergency situation!! Blaming the HOA is just that blame. You are the management "professionals" and should be that. The owner of the unit, as well as me and my husband have made numerous calls to the management company (idea) about this issue. Allowing seniors (and a veteran) to live with mold forming, ceiling dripping, windows peeling remains unconscionable, and there is no excuse. Even you becoming the second management company is no excuse, if you were responsive and professional, you would have conducted a comprehensive survey to find out issues. You are NOT off the hook. I expect YOU to contact our landlord and arrange with him to fix this. If not, you are complicit, should my husband become ill from the mold in our second bedroom/office. I have to give one star. I live in a rented condo that this management company manages. There is so much to say about this inept company. We have been waiting for over a year to get a leak in our roof and two windows fixed. We were given one key for two people, had to pay $50 for an extra key. It too 3-4 months for them to get the key to us!!!! This after numerous calls, texts and emails. We have had to wait weeks for the elevators to be fixed and two to three times a month we have had to spend the better portion of the day with our water turned off!!! This is a horrible management company. I have been trying to get someone to return my call for over a week. Every time I call I get transferred to someone's voicemail because the person I need to speak to is not in the office. I applied for 2 adults and they sure did take my money right away for credit checks that they most likely never ran. I've texted, emailed and called multiple times. Unprofessional and horrible property management!! I had to drop off property unit keys of where I used to live at sunrise fountain apt . I moved due to always having leakage issues, mold etc. I made it before 5pm. I knocked and rang the doorbell of the building, I literally saw people inside the building and there were cars on the lot but they completely ignored me and wouldn't open the door until I got of hold of someone on the phone after being transferred multiple times. I explained everything and the lady over the phone that seemed rude and annoyed said she was going to tell someone to open the door and get the keys which a lady who was dressed like she was in a night club open the door, and took the key. She was so rude she just extended her hand and took the keys never said a word, I instantly told her I was going to give them a bad review for being so unprofessional! I don't recommend this property management to anyone. In the bright side I'm glad that was the last time I ever have to deal with a rude unprofessional management company. read more

It is my home, so I can only speak my truth and speak from the heart, and as a former ABC affiliate news station journalist, I am careful in stating the facts. I want to address a few things mentioned in your narrative. You said it is important to follow the defined communication protocols. Are you suggesting I did not follow the proper protocols because I beg to differ? My concern was conveyed to Stacy and the board, and not once was I told I was breaking protocol. Moreover, after reporting my concern about the trash bin, Stacy replied that she called the vendor to ensure that the trash bin was cleaned by the vendor she had called earlier. On Mondy, August 29th, at our board meeting, I again brought up the topic of our trash bin and how I personally cleaned it myself after several days of it not being cleaned. Stacy reassured me that the bin was cleaned after I initially reported it to her, and she gave a date. It was suggested that what I saw occurred after I cleaned the bin, but I highly doubt it. You also said a member of Consensys Property Management's leadership team made several attempts to contact you, but unfortunately, you did not take his phone call. Please tell me when these attempts were made because I don't recall receiving any calls from Consensys regarding this most recent situation. If attempts were made and I didn't answer, why did your management team not leave me a message to call them back? Did your management team call from your Anaheim office because ConsensYs would have appeared on my screen? In my phone log, I have had no incoming phone calls logged from ConsensYs since I filed my complaint about the trash bin, and I stand by what I say. Also, you said I have "HIS" direct phone number. These people never get back to your inquiries. I can't believe I even have to sign on Yelp to get in touch with them. I am an agent for a home owner of their HOA. I sent SEVERAL EMAILS to info at consensyspm, asking for some forms but they never got back to me. I even wrote a note to Stephen and Stacy personally, no reply as of today. I called their office - both Rentals and HOA, no answer most of the time. Twice I was able to talk to an operator, and she said she would get back to me - of course never did. We've had a roof leak in our condo for a year. Consensys is unresponsive, have taken pictures, say they fix things but the leak only gets worse. This company is absolutely horrendous to deal with (if you can get them to respond). I've had several issues with them and it feels like pulling teeth to get anything done. I rarely get a response from Stacey Garcia and when I do it's days later. Currently, I'm being overcharged for my HOA dues and I reached out to get this rectified but got no help. They are quick to charge you a late fee if you don't pay on time but when they overcharge you, it's radio silent. The building's been warned to not reach out to board members directly as their service is voluntary, which I completely agreed with. But if you can't reach out to anyone from the HOA and the property management company doesn't reply to you, what do you do? read more

I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't write this review: ConsensYs let our building insurance lapse because of non payment. They mismanaged our funds and payed another large bill in full that wasn't due resulting in non-sufficient funds to pay our building insurance! This is going to force us to pay much higher premiums costing thousands of dollars! Our board requested proof of paid insurance multiple times! They stopped reporting financials prior to non-payment of insurance so we could not see if insurance was paid. This is the worst and most unprofessional experience I've had. STAY AWAY! I'm usually pretty graceful and hate writing bad reviews but my experience was so bad, if I save one other association from this I will have done some good. Please beware! read more

My experience with Consensys began last year. My HOA was in need of an experienced and qualified property management company/representatives. Our HOA recently went through a transition to a new board of directors and Stacey was there to assist the old board and new board during that time. I am in contact with the property manager and feel that Consensys will be able to assist our board as we embark on new journey with support and service during this transition, all should be full steam ahead in the coming weeks. read more

Those other people must either be paid to give good reviews or have very low expectations for property management groups because I have never seen such bad communication and lack of service as Consensys. I had emailed them multiple times and even called without an appropriate response often getting passed to the next person so that nobody takes responsibility. ConsensYs is your typical corporate-structured management company. I hired them a year ago to help with an issue that arose at my family's Shopping center. Based on their performance, we elected to make them the property mangers for these businesses. My interactions with Laurel and Xacil have been pleasant and they are the ones at this company that actually make feel heard when I have owner issues and concerns. My primary contact is Xacil who property manages the shopping center and deals with all the interactions with tenants. Recently, we converted an older style home into a rental property and I am happy to say that she found us nice tenants with good credit who are due to move in at the beginning of the year. read more

Still no response to ANY of the 4 messages I left nor any of the 3 or 4 emails. I did speak to someone at the office finally and was told they send the statements out every month regardless. Makes zero sense and it's funny how that's the first one I received and it said i had NOT paid when I had! This is a terrible company and should be out of business judging by the myriad of negative reviews here and the refusal to accept culpability or actually ADDRESS or FIX anything by their apparent figurehead here Jamey. Very happy with the service and quick responses from their agents. They have excellent communication and we're very polite.

When I was moving out I was pleasantly surprised they didn't nickle and dime me for all the little minor cosmetic issues, I was totally prepared for a big fight and they were super understanding that little things happen. They are so unprofessional. Angela is incredibly rude to the tenants. They like to communicate via email, which I think is bizarre. The south Yale apartments are infested with cockroaches and they seem to be just fine with that. They also made an insane busybody, Blanca, the "onsite manager". Which is weird because Blanca is on disability so she either bartered lesser rent or is getting paid under the table. I would call them and never receive phone calls back. Probably too busy peddling their egregiously terrible apartments to people. They also have no issue giving out personal information. What a nightmare! This ones for you Angela! (I am sure you have seen this coming for months because even you know how awful of a person you are..) I finally thought I was out and then i get slammed again by these CROOKS. Since they wont talk to me on the phone and I have to enter all disputes in writing (the front desk wont let me speak to anyone in person), I thought why not write my disputes for everyone to see: DO NOT EVER RENT FROM CONSESNYS OR USE THEM TO RENT OUT YOUR OWN. #1 I rented an apartment that they showed me which was the room we agreed on and then on move in day, they gave me a different apartment in a dark dingy corner and told me , "sorry, you already signed the agreement." #2 Moved for work which it is CA Law that if your work moves you a certain amount of miles away, you can get out of your lease if you find someone to take yours over, which I did and then had my lawyer write up a letter, of which the only response I ever received from Angela was "Please see page 10 in your Rental Agreement", which is SO VAGUE. I had to pay off the last 3 months of rent without even living there because it would have cost me the same to just break my lease. #3 I cleaned the entire apartment all weekend scrubbing the walls, floorboards, windows, blinds, stove, fridge, floors, etc. It looked better than the day I moved in. I am a VERY clean renter and was there about half the time, got take out instead of cooking, etc. Had verbal confirmation from the Landlord and Angela that the place looked great and that all my money would be returning. I asked to be present for the walk through (which I have in writing) and they did it without me. I wasn't upset because they told me I would receive money in full. Today I received my check with $190 deducted for "cleaning". The agreement states that you can be charged for cleaning but really?? I can see if a tenant left a place without cleaning, but it was SPOTLESS. I have never had money deducted after vacating an apartment. #4 I called Consensys to discuss this situation with Angela who has always been so rude to me when I have called in the past. This time, the front desk took the reason i was calling, put me on hold, and then told me I have to put all disputes in writing. I asked again to speak with Angela. I was refused. I asked to speak with anyone in a Management Position. I again was refused and given the same by the book answer I kept receiving to send the dispute in writing. I forced her to take a message for me. We will see when she calls back if she will because it wouldn't be the first time I have been ignored. #5 Even the landlord is very upset with their services because he will leave messages and wont get a response for weeks. Last time, it was because Angela was on vacation. Shouldnt she be forwarding her business to others in the office instead of neglecting those that are paying her? I event took Angela a bottle of wine the day I moved in and get treated so disrespectfully. You guys wanted a written dispute? Here it is. I live in a condo in Long Beach (Casa Del Obispo) and every time their property managers commit to doing something, they never follow through. You leave them multiple messages, text them, email them...NOTHING! Finally when they FEEL like calling you back, I always ask them, did you get my messages the common response is "no I did not review them yet" and that's pretty much it! Thank you for responding to my concern. Please note that I am aware of the issues that you stated. However, it took Stacey a while to return calls. There were several times where I was told that she was going to call or had responded to me when she indeed had not. YES, I definitely have a grievance with the Board because they were not straight forward in their directions on how to resolve my issue either. My feelings are that Stacey should have responded in a more timely manner when dealing with me and her interactions with the Board to handle the mold and repair of my unit. I still feel had it been Stacey's or one of the Board members' unit the lack of urgency displayed would have not occurred and the slow handling of the mold remediation and the lack of the repair of the unit would have been unacceptable. AND BEING SOMEONE WITH ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES, the living conditions are horrific. NO ONE DESERVES THAT!! My unit is still in disarray. Had Stacey been more proactive the situation would not have dragged on as long as it is still dragging on. I have to wait for the new property management company to get up to speed. Property management companies are supposed to help alleviate these types of situations not allowed it to occur. I have been a HOA president and board member on several of my properties and no way would any of the owners have had to endure a situation such as this. my manager id the best, but when management went corporate, everything went down hill. toilet backs up ok. maintenance people don't know what they were doing. they took of my toilet, flooded my apartment with poop water, they left poop smeared on my walls, then through my rug away. it took over a month for them to clean my carpet. many good people have moved because they were totally disrespected by the maintenance department. nice apartments, disrespectful maintenance workers. read more
