Location is amazing!! Amenities are great! We enjoyed our stay here. We enjoyed the spa at night…read more The spa is the size of a small pool. The pool is also heated. Main courtyard is full of activity. They offer beach workout and yoga in the morning on the lawn facing the beach. No breakfast included so we bought a $20 breakfast burrito at Sugar Beats which is an Airstream in the middle of a courtyard by the spa. The coffee in the room was good so I had that. They offer surrey rentals to use on the bike path in front of the resort. They have a small but well equipped fitness center. Couple of issues: ants in the bathroom, completely empty shower gel and sink had drainage issues.

Rooms are not cleaned daily by housekeeping, so don't expect that. The pool is small, but the hot tub is big. We tried to order drinks and food at the pool, but that wasn't available despite having order tags on all the chairs at the pool. They do have a small bar next to the pool, but I didn't venture over there. Towels are at the pool and there is an attendant there who takes your room number when you pick them up. But, they constantly leave and that's a problem as they take your room number when you pick them up! So, I'm hoping I didn't get charged for any towels I returned. On a positive note, the hotel has direct beach access and that was the highlight of our weekend getaway! You can walk directly from the hotel to the sand and you can rent beach at the hotel which is nice. The rest of the hotel, outside of our room was really nice.

This is a great little hotel right on the beach! Check in…read morewas easy and the staff were so friendly. Had a king room on the 2nd floor. It was clean, spacious and had everything I would need. They have done some updating. The fan they now provide is a new small but very efficient Woozoo fan, not the one they show in the older review pictures. The fireplace was nice and the bathroom was modern and updated. There is a desk & chair along with two charging outlets on the desk and dresser area. They have an ice machine that was always full alongside a vending machine. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a plastic bag for the ice bucket, for sanitary reasons. Luckily, I had one with me. The balcony was very nice with two comfortable chairs and a nice size table. The views were spectacular of the beach. It was very foggy during my stay so no sunset but that happens sometimes. There are several restaurants within a very short walk from the hotel and beach access is easy. It was quiet at night and the sliding door to the balcony had a security bar so you could leave it open a few inches or all the way if you wanted to. The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore made for such a peaceful and restful sleep. They have a good size refrigerator in the room that kept everything really cold and a coffee maker with the regular & decaf pods along with powdered creamer & sugar. The complimentary breakfast consists of cereal, muffins & pastries along with coffee. I thought it was a nice touch. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends and my brother & SIL are already planning to stay here soon. I can't wait to come back, this is my new go to when not camping here in Ventura!

Staff were fabulous - especially Angela whom aided us when we got stuck on the balcony when the latch on the door locked on the inside. The included continental breakfast is light but still ok. Parking is available on the premises.

Showers caused neighbor's toilet to flood, there was a hole in the wall,…read moresmoke detector was hanging off the ceiling, sheets and comforters were stained, and the hospitality was even worse! While outside smoking, the owner of the hotel insisted we go back into our rooms because we were causing a disruption. He then threatened to call the police (note we were only outside smoking, hardly talking to each other). Our disruption was listening to the guests tell us how crappy this place was when they had to be moved from one room to the next because their toilet flooded after the adjacent room to them finished showering. The pool was filthy, the place is just a complete mess, and the owner is a jackass and a liar. After threatening us and telling us to leave, he insisted that we hadn't yet been charged. Wrong. A quick check on my phone showed that my credit card was charged approximately $600 for the 5 nights we planned on staying there. We quickly left for the Embassy Suites in Oxnard. This place was gigantic, really nice, and extremely accommodating. Even though the pool was closed, the lady let us into the jacuzzi to relax after a long day. Our room was huge, clean, and even had a nice patio. After telling the hotel what happened, they were willing to give the room to us for $100 whereas it normally costs $300. Go anywhere but Del Playa Inn. Sleep in a parking lot if you have to, you'd probably be more comfortable and it just might be a tad cleaner.

The staff seemed to be trying hard, but it felt like they were either understaffed or not properly trained. The biggest issue for me, however, was the lack of service in the M Club Lounge. I arrived Friday night and checked out Sunday morning, and during that entire time the lounge was never properly restocked, refreshed, serviced, or even cleaned. As a Lifetime Titanium member, that was extremely disappointing. At that point, it makes you question why you chose this Marriott property in the first place when the key elite benefit isn't being maintained. I honestly would have considered another Marriott property -- or even a Hilton -- had I known. I brought the issue up to the front desk, but they seemed somewhat oblivious to the fact that this is a core guest amenity issue, not just something reserved for weekday corporate travelers. The hotel definitely has potential, but it needs stronger management attention and better operational oversight to deliver the level of experience expected from the brand.

The room was comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi , & breakfast--the waffles and coffee were great each morning. Other than that, the family that works at and also lives in the hotel came across as pretty unprofessional. I also had a bit of confusion about a situation where I thought the breakfast area was closed, but their teenage daughter was cooking hot meals during that time. When I asked about it, the lady was very rude in her response, which made the situation feel uncomfortable. Overall I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, but because of the rude interaction I had, I probably wouldn't stay again since it might feel a bit awkward. Especially since the family with Indian heritage work and live there.

Everything was clean and comfortable. The AC is an older floor model, but it worked well and kept the room cool. The beds were comfortable, and our two-queen room felt spacious for two , a little tight for family of 4, but doable They now offer a small complimentary breakfast with muffins, bagels, waffles, fruit, juice, and coffee. Staff mentioned they plan to roll out a larger breakfast with eggs and sausage in the coming months, which will be a nice addition. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and there's plenty of parking. The property also has a gym and pool, although we didn't get a chance to use them. The location is convenient too , there's a Starbucks, Smart & Final, Denny's, and other food options nearby which made grabbing coffee or a quick meal really easy. Overall, it was a comfortable two-night stay with my kiddo and a great value for the price.
