We went to a Christmas party at this location. The event was beautifully decorated. It was very elegant, with the winter feeling and the table scapes were just delicately decorated. The food that was catered was actually quite tasty. The charcuterie tables looked very delicious and pretty at the same time. The drinks served were ok, I was surprised that the bar didn't have Bailey's Irish cream, or amaretto liquor on hand. Over all it was an elegant event attending this location.

This hotel is all about location, location, location..:.:The hotel is just down the street from Ventura Beach. A short walk to Ventura Pier...and just a couple of miles from downtown Ventura. Beyond being in an ideal location, the hotel has had a major rehab from when I last stayed. The bedroom decor and furnishings are all new. The bed affords comfort that a Marriott should have in their rooms. New bathrooms exist in rooms too! Although, After all this money, a big miss was that Marriott did not invest in soundproof windows. The windows are still original thus you can hear highway and outside traffic. And the rooms are not soundproof so you can hear guest next to you as well as above you. With that said, if you are a light sleeper then this is not the hotel for you. As for breakfast; platinum members and above receive a complimentary breakfast buffet on weekends. Unfortunately the breakfast is horrible and bland. Supposedly breakfast buffet for two is 52 dollars. The coffee was even bad. During weekdays, breakfast is in the M club. Parking is a minimum of 16 dollars per a night for guest.

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend as we were attending a Weekend to Remember event. Our hotel experience was great. We checked in easily and went straight to our room (4th floor) to drop off our luggage. The room was clean and tidy. There was a safe available, but no fridge or microwave. The bathroom and shower were clean and well lit. There was also closet space and drawers for storage. To be honest, we didn't spend a whole lot of time in our room. I mean who wants to stay in a hotel when they can go to the beach and check out LA?! By the way, the beach is within walking distance of the hotel! There is an In N Out across the street, McDonald's about a block away , and gas stations nearby . The only thing we didn't pay much attention to was a $30 parking fee per day. I wish we would've caught this when booking the hotel on Hotels.com Also, while walking down the hall to our room we could hear other people in their rooms. Overall, the hotel stay was nice.

Stayed here with my husband for the weekend! It was super clean, quiet and they have a gym! They seem to be busy with work conferences and have a convenient location across from in n out burger and the walking trail next to the beach! Super beautiful area. I grew up in Ventura and will stay here again when visiting family and friends!

My wife, our puppy, and I, spent a few days in this hotel and it was so nice. The room accommodations were wonderful as the design was well thought out ! Space utilization was matched with the correct size / placement furniture and indirect lighting while giving enough of a widened traffic pattern to not be claustrophobic or overcrowded. The balcony, surprisingly, had only one small chair. However, it was a rainy stay so no loss there. The bathroom was well designed with a beautiful and larger walk in shower coupled with great water pressure. Sliding doors on the shower, as well as, the bathroom assisted with space management. Color coordination and room design was simple, yet location appropriate. The bed was firm, yet comfortable, and the temperature control worked well. There was secure parking and plenty of spaces, despite the convention that was happening. Room service was prompt, food was fresh, and served on actual porcelain plates and metal flatware brought on a tray by a well dressed waiter with a food cart. I know that sounds silly but I have not seen that since before the pandemic. Thank you .. It was so nice to encounter that again !! Please keep up the great work !! It is sometimes the little things that mean a lot to your patrons. Smiles and being nice is free and that is exactly what we received from the staff !! Cheers !!

This is included in the buffet but they don't tell you

This is a nice basic Marriott with unhappy, bad service. Looks recently upgraded but the furniture they chose has worn quickly. The floor shakes as you walk around the room which is unsettling. Tiny balcony good for drying beach stuff. Small fridge. We had a suite which had 2 TVs, 2 closets and 2 full baths. Close enough to everything but you need a car. Our elevator smelled like grease and oil the whole trip. Babies/unattended children in the hot tub with alcohol/glass every time made us not use it. You would think security checked on things once and awhile or any of the staff, but not so much. Gym looks nice. The staff from "security" to the front desk to breakfast was all really unhappy. No good notes there. The staff being rude and unhappy can really ruin a vacation. Overall, we expected more but it was fine.

Ventura Beach Marriott Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ventura Beach Marriott

Is the beach good for boogie boarding or rocky?

No boogie boarding there. It is beautiful though.

Does this hotel offer EV charging?

Does this feel like a beach hotel? How far is it to the beach and is the nearby beach good for littles?

I would say yes it feels like a beach hotel. It is only ~1 block from the hotel until you're in the sand; very easy walking distance. It's very close! I think the nearby beach is acceptable for kids, yes.

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

For many years, Ojai Valley Inn was one of my favorite destinations. I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

During breakfast the first morning, there was an older couple, and the wife burned her finger on the waffle maker. She then got pissed and started yelling at her husband because he didn't react the way she thought he should. Then a second couple came in the next morning, and they were fighting too! People seemed to be disturbed by something here. During the second night is when things got interesting. About 1:30 am I was awoken randomly. As I laid there in bed, I could hear some very loud but muffled screaming. It was a man's voice. I sounded like English, but I couldn't understand it, even though I should have been able to. As the screaming and yelling continued, it sounded like a large bowling ball was being thrashed around the room. It rattled the wall as I had my ear pressed up against it trying to figure out what the in the hell was going on. It was pretty scary, and I don't scare easily. It's actually really hard to explain and convey what I heard and felt. This went on and on, as I debated waking up my wife and getting out of there. It was at that point I decided to pray. I said, Jesus, please make whatever that is stop so I know my wife and son will be okay. The very second I ended my prayer, the noise stopped completely. I was really surprised, which led me to believe that may have been a spirit because the prayer ended that nonsense immediately. After a 2 second google search, it was documented many times that this hotel is commonly haunted. And the breakfast is greasy paper like bacon, and sausage. There is a waffle maker though!

I used about the $25 fee nor did they quote that when I called the day before they just said call after 9 AM. It was clean, spacious and had everything I would need. They have done some updating. The fan they now provide is a new small but very efficient Woozoo fan, not the one they show in the older review pictures. The fireplace was nice and the bathroom was modern and updated. There is a desk & chair along with two charging outlets on the desk and dresser area. They have an ice machine that was always full alongside a vending machine. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a plastic bag for the ice bucket, for sanitary reasons. Luckily, I had one with me. The balcony was very nice with two comfortable chairs and a nice size table. The views were spectacular of the beach. It was very foggy during my stay so no sunset but that happens sometimes. There are several restaurants within a very short walk from the hotel and beach access is easy. It was quiet at night and the sliding door to the balcony had a security bar so you could leave it open a few inches or all the way if you wanted to. The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore made for such a peaceful and restful sleep. They have a good size refrigerator in the room that kept everything really cold and a coffee maker with the regular & decaf pods along with powdered creamer & sugar. The complimentary breakfast consists of cereal, muffins & pastries along with coffee. I thought it was a nice touch. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends and my brother & SIL are already planning to stay here soon. I can't wait to come back, this is my new go to when not camping here in Ventura!

Staff were fabulous - especially Angela whom aided us when we got stuck on the balcony when the latch on the door locked on the inside. The included continental breakfast is light but still ok. Parking is available on the premises.
