Currently under construction! They have replaced the room furniture with nice new blue accented furniture. For some reason, they didn't change the curtains along with the furniture and carpet. Bathroom is the same. Lobby and breakfast area is in the front building. Make sure to take your room card to get back into the hotel building. The two are connected by a covered walkway next to the outdoor pool with no spa. They did add an outdoor fire pit on the west side of the busbut I do think they should add a hot tub. Location is in a marina so beautiful views of the marina. Park next dog where people play tennis, walk their dogs and play loud music. This is not walkable to a beach but you could ride a bike there. read more

Beautiful place. They just neglected to tell me when I moved from another hotel due to construction that they were doing renovations here too. Trying to relax and I have hammers and screw guns. Funny thing is they didn't offer me an unfinished hotel rate. Check to see if they're in repairs before you book here. Waste of hard earned money. Hampton Inn is often a budget choice among the Hilton brands but we found this one at the Channel Island Harbor a pleasant destination and a good deal. Room is spacious and clean, albeit simple and no frills. Staff was curious and helpful. Breakfast was complimentary and a great value - one of the best features of this brand. Location is okay - at the harbor but not much ocean view. The walk around the harbor is quite pleasant and there are some decent restaurants around. The Oxnard beach is nearby, about 15-30 minutes walk away and usually less crowded than other beaches along the coast. All and all a good destination for a relaxing and budget friendly stay. Great marina views. Clean enough but the walls are thin so bring earplugs in case you have noisy neighbors. We asked way in advance for a third floor room but they ignored our request. The breakfast was terrible and I'm not a picky eater. The fitness center is small but I was lucky nobody was on the one treadmill both times I used it. The blackout curtains work well. The TV drops signal every now and then which I have never seen in any hotel. This is our second trip. The first was great and this one wasn't so bad we would never come again but we have lowered our expectations. read more

Booked for one night on Saturday and was looking forward to the traditionally solid breakfast that Hampton Hotels offer on Sunday morning. To my horror, even though of course no one cares as long as it's included in the price, the breakfast went from an A to a F. It was so bad that I took down two stars Because the stay is just beautiful in this hotel I love the room and the marina view. There was no bacon. The turkey sausages dumped straight out of the freezer bags visible in prep area are absolutely disgusting (1 bite and spit out) and taste like UFO shit-logs. They used to have cheddar omelets they were not available when asked. Fresh fruit juices? Well at least the sign is still there. They even changed the waffle batter; it's even worse now gets cold and falls apart and unedible garbage. Salsa and shredded cheese to put on your eggs? Even that they cut. Hell there's not even a Thomas English muffin to toast anymore. They have plain bagel and plain bread. Can't believe I'm saying this but Best Western's breakfast trounces this. Their breakfast potatoes were lifeless limp cold and gross didn't even touch. Hell, I'm surprised the scrambled eggs are still yellow. Unless you're an extreme cheapskate there's absolutely no reason to inhale this junk whether it's included or not! Go have a nice breakfast somewhere else. Shame on you guys! You're a Hampton Inn not a Motel 6 . I would gladly pay 10 to $20 extra per room to have a decent breakfast this is pathetically shameful and horrifically traumatizing. read more

We stayed at this hotel during a family vacation late last year. We were pretty pleased with the location and room we got, so I wanted to share that with all of you. We found a deal online for a King Room for 1 night. The room was a nice size for the three of us (mom, dad and baby) and parking was free and got to park right outside of our room. That made loading and unloading easy. We found a local pizza place nearby and ordered food to go, which we got to enjoy in our room while relaxing. The marina was a nice walking area to get out with my baby stroller and check out the views. read more

Eventually, I unplugged the AC from the wall outlet. Next morning, I had work meetings until 10 AM, so I put the do not disturb sign on the door. I left by 10:30, put the sign back inside. Probably the most unique Hampton Inn that I've ever stayed at. First off, there are two buildings here. The first has the front desk and breakfast area, the second of which you have to walk 60+ feet to reach your room. Building #2 is on the marina, which also has a long sidewalk to get in your exercise or walk the dog. The hotel is located about 6 miles south of Ventura, and seems to be more into the Oxnard area (Channel Islands Harbor). This means that it's away from the major amenities, restaurants and shopping areas. However, close to the causeway area a couple miles or so from the hotel, you'll start seeing familiar chain venues, and some unfamiliar. No issues with the room. The property is well-maintained, and seems to either have been constructed within the last 5 years, or recently renovated. Overall, this location is a fabulous getaway out of the LA area or as a good respite when traveling up or down Highway 101. read more

Great location right on the marina. Half the rooms face the marina and half face the parking lot, and they all have a balcony. The rooms are smaller than most hotels, and even small by Hampton standards; there is very little space to move around and turn in the door/bathroom area. The shower is nice, a curved one with a footrest. The room was quite clean -- we used some disinfectant wipes all over and there was no dirt on them, so they are keeping the rooms and counters clean. The floor was also clean and free of dirt. The breakfast was warm every day and had a really good Hampton selection (it's the same at all Hamptons), and it was closely monitored and tended to by the breakfast staff each day, they kept everything clean and filled. The hotel had no kids -- not really a family friendly place, we saw mostly men (affiliated with gov't and boats,, likely) and retirees looking at potential housing. It was an old vibe and a 1-night stay kind of vibe. The "gym" had 3 machines -- total joke :-( I guess no one uses it -- it was sad. The pool is in the parking lot so there is no privacy and it just looks cheap - no shaded seats. There is a really nice seating are in the hotel adjacent to the park and it's enclosed so you're safe from all the unleashed dogs. There are signs everywhere on the property that the place is dog and cat friendly, so you can bring your pet. The channels are all streaming and not digital (as far as we could tell) so the tv cut out about 99% of the time and we were never able to watch a program from beginning to end unless it was a local channel. Even with a few downsides we'd stay again if we came to the area. The staff was friendly enough and it was quiet and had free parking, too. read more

Hampton Inn pleasantly surprised us in oh so many ways. Not only did we get a huge back room for our regular room purchase, there was also a microwave, refrigerator, and balcony patio. The extra space and amenities made our trip with our one-year-old, tantrum-prone son that much more enjoyable. Plus, the continental breakfast had to be one of the best we've ever had. There was even chocolate waffle batter for using with their easy-to-prepare mini and regular-sized waffle making machines. There was a prepared steak + egg + cheese scramble mix that was done so well that I swear the kitchen must be employing some previously 5-star restaurant chef. Seriously, it was that good. There were tiny bits of bell pepper and the perfect balance of complimentary spices. I was blown away. There was also a HUGE cereal station, as well as freshly squeezed juice and smoothie stations. The Hampton Inn is located right in the Channel Islands harbor and provides a great view of the marina. We were looking for a nice quiet get-away and this place served our purpose. They have a pool, spa and fire pit located on the property. It's located near restaurants and coffee shops, all within walking distance. The Hampton Inn provides a complimentary breakfast in the morning with the standard eggs, toast, waffles, fruit and coffee. The price was reasonable for a Marina view. We will be back. read more

This is a terrific hotel located right on the water in Channel Island. The rooms are nice and spacious and the staff is so accommodating. Honestly, I cannot complain about anything. Plus, you get a nice free breakfast with stellar service and a very comfortable atmosphere after you wake. The dining area was clean and the food was plenty. We were extremely tired and hungry and we arrived pretty late to the location. The front desk attendant had our parking pass and room keys ready and waiting with a luggage rack conveniently available. We asked if there was any place to just grab something to eat nearby. The kind staffers let us know about Toppers Pizza next door that was open late, served drinks and very casual. We were so grateful. Overall, we had a very nice short stay here and they even have balconies which I absolutely prefer. I loved my marina-view room. Prior to my stay, I had concerns (based on a Trip Advisor review) about my view being blocked by a palm tree. I called the hotel and Grace, the General Manager, actually went to the room, took photos and emailed them to me. Unfortunately, that's where the great service (and great review) ends. Upon arrival, I asked to meet Grace but she was off work for my time there. When I got to my room and went to turn on my fridge, I couldn't find the power switch. I called the front desk and was informed that the switch is in BACK of the fridge. The fridge is enclosed in a console that I couldn't move to REACH the switch. So, I called for maintenance to assist. That took two calls to get done. I later asked for a 1-day extension to my stay. That took two trips to the front desk to get done. As a result of my stay not being updated on time, I needed my digital keep fixed. That took two trips to the front desk to get fixed. So, the moral of this story is : if you stay here, take your patience with you. And be prepared to ask for everything twice (unless Grace is there). I'm giving three stars because I LOVED my room . I also am cutting some slack because I realize that there is a shortage of experienced employees. The staff, as pleasant as they were to me, were likely trainees. (If not, there is no excuse for having to request EVERYTHING twice.) read more

The room and hotel I would actually give a 5 star. Great location and even better price. Easy to get to the beach and other local attractions. Toppers is walking distance. Pool is heated and complimentary breakfast was nice. Now where my 3 star comes from. I love animals. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Karen. BUT I do not want to stare at a dogs balls and but hole while I'm eating breakfast. There are signs every where saying no animals in the breakfast common area but I guess that doesn't apply to everyone. Having your long haired dog walk all around the breakfast area is not ok. I wish people would be more respectful and the staff would enforce the rules. read more

THE BALCONY VIEW!! We booked 2 rooms on the 3rd floor facing the marina. Gorgeous sunset views. The balconies have 2 chairs and a small table. My mom is in a wheelchair about half the time and the doorways were good sized. Both showers in our standard rooms were low curb and perfect for her. I should note that we did NOT request a handicap room so I can't speak about those rooms. One of the rooms we had had a broken shower door handle, a missing wheel on the chair at the desk and the air conditioner didn't work. None of that ruined our stay and upon letting management know at check-out, they genuinely seemed to care and want to fix those issues for the next guests. This is a great location for walking or jogging too! We were all pleased and would definitely stay at this location again. read more

We stayed here for three nights and the experience was a 1 star. The room itself did not feel clean. The carpet was not thoroughly vacuumed. Did not feel comfortable walking barefoot on it. The towel service was very stingy. Only one bath towel, one hand towel, one face towel per person. Usually that's doubled per person in any given hotel. The body wash, and shampoo stocked in the shower was already mostly used up and we ended up running out during our stay. On our second night after returning from a day out, the bed was not even made. The thermostat in the room did not appear to work. We turned it up to 78 and it never came on. The daily breakfast was super basic and flavorless. The so-called gym is not a gym but a room with two treadmills and some dumbbell weights. The walls and structure are thin, so if you are on a bottom floor you will hear every footstep. The only positive was the view of the harbor. All in all, would not recommend. read more

This place wasnt great and it wasnt that bad. It was definitely on the average side. The pictures on the site look better than the actual hotel. The only good thing about this place was the bed, beds were comfortable and I got a good night sleep. The bathroom was quite small and it would have been nice to have a vanity mirror so I could apply my makeup as the lighting wasnt that great. Shower was small and it was pretty basic. The cons the service I wasnt impressed with the service girls working in the front need to be more friendlier and learn customer service. I worked I the Hospitality industry for almost 7 years and we did our best to greet everyone who was walking in the lobby when we were not with customers. I didnt get a welcome vibe especially being Hilton Diamond members. It was quite disappointing!!! The pool is small nothing special, they serve bfast in the morning which I didn't want to try so I cant really comment. They have make your own waffles, cereal, eggs, etc. I like that there is a Toppers close by. Near the beach and marina. We plan on coming again to the area but not sure if this place will be my top choice. Parking is free. read more

The best and the worst. Best first: Beautiful view on the marina side!--and there are balconies--and no traffic noise. Good location for walking if you remain aware of what side of the waterways you want to be on--otherwise you'll need your portable jet skis. You can walk to many restaurants in the more upscale parts of the marina on waterside pedestrian paths except for a short stint on noisy Channel Islands Blvd. The area is a prime vacation spot. Go whale watching, go to the Channel Islands, (Start with the visitor center!) enjoy the beach, the maritime museum, the sea birds and other marine life. The bad: the hotel needs updating. Only the top floor is habitable due to poor sound insulation. Otherwise you'll hear every footstep. The breakfast is super basic. Blah. The rooms are roomy and nice enough, but my shower leaked....and I don't think there's any heat. A thermostat that doesn't seem to have any effect...and no heating vents or radiators. Also be aware that there's no bar or restaurant--just the blah breakfast and a tiny in-room coffee maker, a fridge and microwave. In conclusion: low-budget vibe in a gorgeous area that's walkable and quiet with uncrowded beaches. read more

Palm trees were being cut down, big dumpsters were taking up space in the parking lot and all the shrubs had been removed. It was a dusty, dirty, uninviting mess. Because......Miss Grace, Johnny, Joseph, Rocio,Timothy, Jeffrey and Matthew, not a few of you, but ALL of you are amazing. You give us A1 service each and every time. When one of you are assisting a guest you give them your undivided attention to their concern. It is like how is it that all of the Guest Agents the same, usually its maybe one or two but all of you give us Superior service. This review includes the maintenance and housekeeping department. Lastly, with all due respect for you Miss Grace (Hotel Manager) your crew must be very happy, and obviousy you treat them very well for them to perform like they do. This property sits by the harbor. Easy to check-in via the app. Plenty of parking on-site. Clean lobby & kitchen area. Room smelt like a wet dog had stayed in the room. The hotel is dog friendly so perhaps that's where the scent came from. I could hear my neighbors conversation very well to know exactly what he was saying. Great job to the owners and employees of this Hampton Inn. I must say, rooms 118 & 120 are by far the noisiest rooms in the hotel. The luggage rattles on the pavers outside then everyone comes inside to the elevators disturbing both of these rooms especially. Trust me, it is bad. Warning!! They now charge $12.00 per night parking! Permit must be in window. I'm not sued to this here, so be careful! Not too happy about this, but there are apartments across the street so this may be the issue. read more

Numerous bars and restaurants on the harbor, and many more just a short drive away. 5 minutes to the beach, 5-10 minutes to downtown Oxnard. One of the nicer rooms of all the Hamptons that I've stayed in. Big walk in shower. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Very nice lounge chair, and a lot of outlets/usb charging outlets. I was on third floor with an awesome marina view, and had a good sized balcony with table and 2 chairs. Will definitely stay here again. read more

As always, Hilton provided us with an immaculate room with an impressively updated design. The check-in process (using the Hilton Honors app) made our arrival quite simple. The Hampton Inn provides a continental breakfast for each guest and Patricia, whom I'd like to give a shout out to, was so pleasant this morning. She came around to each guest's table to ensure that our food ok. So sweet! My only complaint about the hotel is the poor sound insulation. This is definitely a hidden gem by the sea. The looks from the outside might not show all the wonder this little spot has to offer. We had an amazing 3 night stay with a Marina View room! It was beautiful to watch the sunrise and set from the balcony. The seals serenade you throughout the days and nights. We went during a Saturday Summer that hosted a Concert in the park at adjoining Peninsula Park. The room was a little smaller but served its purpose. Showers were nice and hot with strong pressure. Here was a pool (we did not go in) which was said to be heated to 86degrees year round. The kicker: they have complimentary breakfast every morning and Free WiFi plus hot coffee all day! Each morning they had a different breakfast it's a great place for families or business people and couples who want to get away. We will definitely be back soon. The location is nice but the hotel is extremely disappointing. The room was spacious but it felt dingy. It did not feel clean at all. There were hairs in the sink when I first arrived. The walls are extremely thin. When I say extremely thin, I mean it. You can hear literally EVERYTHING your neighbors next to you and above you are doing. They also do not have a hot tub and their pool is filthy. There do not have a bar and their little "store" in the lobby does not sell alcohol products either. 10/10 I would never stay here again and would definitely not recommend anyone I care about stay here either. I have it 2 stars because of the location and because the staff was really nice. read more
