Very satisfied with our stay here! We were in town for business and the hotel was very clean and well run. The complementary breakfast changed daily, which we appreciate appreciated and you could tell they really put care and thought into what they do. Housekeeping was wonderful in our room. Was that large size and very spacious. The pool was clean and maintained and I appreciate the 24 hour refreshments. Good budget option in Oxnard by the outlets!

My husband and I stayed here to visit family nearby for a few days. We liked that the suites had a kitchen. The king bedroom suite was clean and roomy for our baby and dog to walk around. They only offer mini cribs and no play pens. The decor of the hotel was eclectic but not in a cute Kimpton Hotel way. Some things didn't quite match, but the furniture was comfy. We liked the hot breakfast in the morning, which seemed better in quality than other comparable hotels. I thought the room was better than the Residence Inn Oxnard River Ridge that's within a similar price range.

I am pretty sure of that carpeting is not supposed to have waves in it.

Let me just save you some time, this is the number to Hilton corporate to complain if you do in fact, make the mistake of staying at this property. 1 (800) 548-8690. You will need this number because the general manager, Dolores Licon will not be of much help. I brought my 94 year-old mother here for one night. I thought it made sense because there was plenty of room and they would have a roll in shower. That part did work out. I had called the hotel twice before we arrived to make sure they would put me as close as possible to my mom so that if she needed anything, I would be very close. When I got to the front desk, the person there told me they had no information about anybody calling ahead for anything. The first thing you notice while trying to navigate the hallways is that the carpeting has not been stretched in so long, it has bunched up and now becomes a tripping hazard for anyone, especially someone using a walker. Very dangerous. I managed to get Mom to the room safely and off to bed. The next morning when I checked in on her, she said she hardly slept at all because the mattress was so lumpy. I was horrified since I paid extra to stay at this property with the larger rooms and little kitchenette and all, but she was just desperately uncomfortable. When I laid on the bed, my butt sag down at least halfway, if not more to the boxspring. Very uncomfortable. When I spoke with Dolores about it, she told me that they had just replaced all of their mattresses and that there was nothing wrong with it. Without coming and looking without checking without anything She basically chose to tell me that I was lying and that the mattresses were fine. That was her way of handling the situation. No apologies no "let me see what I can do" that was it. No one here is looking to help you or find a solution. They are only looking for ways to get out of any responsibility for their property. Beware in the hallways as the carpeting will take you down if you are not careful

I am a huge fan of homewood suites. I love how it comes with a kitchen that has full size fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher and basic utensils. Complimentary hot Breakfast is served daily and evening light dinner and drinks are offered Monday-Thursday. We booked 2 bedroom suite that came with 2 bathrooms, each with a jetted tub. The living room is decent size and comes with a sofa sleeper. The couch was old and bit uncomfortable. Carpeting was old too and had some stains. Other than that, we had a great stay. Parking is complimentary and staff is wonderful.

Busness center. Not much there. In the lobby And it was closed.

Main courtyard is full of activity. They offer beach workout and yoga in the morning on the lawn facing the beach. No breakfast included so we bought a $20 breakfast burrito at Sugar Beats which is an Airstream in the middle of a courtyard by the spa. The coffee in the room was good so I had that. They offer surrey rentals to use on the bike path in front of the resort. They have a small but well equipped fitness center. Couple of issues: ants in the bathroom, completely empty shower gel and sink had drainage issues.

Rooms are not cleaned daily by housekeeping, so don't expect that. The pool is small, but the hot tub is big. We tried to order drinks and food at the pool, but that wasn't available despite having order tags on all the chairs at the pool. They do have a small bar next to the pool, but I didn't venture over there. Towels are at the pool and there is an attendant there who takes your room number when you pick them up. But, they constantly leave and that's a problem as they take your room number when you pick them up! So, I'm hoping I didn't get charged for any towels I returned. On a positive note, the hotel has direct beach access and that was the highlight of our weekend getaway! You can walk directly from the hotel to the sand and you can rent beach at the hotel which is nice. The rest of the hotel, outside of our room was really nice.

The kids were looking forward to going swimming after our afternoon in Ojai. We were warmly greeted by the staff upon check in with quick excellent service. We were bummed later to find out the swimming pool was under renovation, but the front desk called their sister property next door so we can use their swimming pool. It was an absolutely much bigger pool so we got extremely happy. The best part, we had the whole entire pool to ourselves. Then the weather shifted to a colder evening, but luckily the swimming pool was heated. Our evening became even better due to happy hour. My friend and I enjoyed $5 tequila sunrises. The bartenders were so generous with their heavy hands pouring mainly tequila in our cocktails. They do have a great happy hour menu! We really enjoyed our stay and this trip was a memorable one.

The room was very spacious, although it could use a bit more natural light. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was how clean everything was. The room had no unpleasant odors, which is always a big plus. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly, professional, and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Overall, I had a good stay. The only downside is that many things in the room feel outdated, including the air conditioner, carpet, and bathroom door. Some renovations and updates to at least a portion of the rooms would make a noticeable difference. Still, considering the price and location, this motel offers good value for money.

The other only dining location that was better than this one was a hotel we stayed at in Dubai. My wife had requested a 2nd floor unit because we wanted a kitchenette but initially they put us in a ground level unit. The gentleman at the check in desk was more than happy to give us a 2nd floor unit with a kitchenette since it was there mistake. The room was very spacious and the kitchenette was awesome. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy as described in other reviews but we had no issues at all. This establishment is near restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores so you can pretty much get anything you need. I was also very impressed with the Ice Machine, you have to actually use your key card in the machine to get Ice. There is a CVS across the street and please be advised there are railroad tracks about 100 yards from the motel. Traffic could be a slight issue because actual freight trains do come through the area. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, my Friends!!!

This is something I wish hotels would do. The "excellent" rating stated is untrue. Our room was like a dingy motel room. We asked for a room away from the construction, instead every morning we woke up to constant beeping from a tractor backing up. Since it is a residential complex. I reserved a two-bedroom, 1.5-bath apartment that comfortably accommodated three of us, and it could easily host a family of six thanks to its spacious layout and a convenient pullout couch downstairs. The amenities exceeded my expectations--shower pressure was excellent, making quick and refreshing showers easy especially if you're a big group. The condo includes utilities for four people, with plenty of towels provided (Thanks Tina). While there's no air conditioning, the ocean breeze just a block away kept the unit comfortably cool throughout our stay. A nice bonus was having a hot tub in each unit, perfect for relaxing evenings. Parking was also straightforward, with one dedicated spot included. A heads-up for warmer months: if you're sensitive to heat, keep in mind that summer temperatures can get quite hot, and the unit might feel warm without A/C. Additionally, because of the communal setup, it can get quite loud--sounds from neighboring units are audible--so don't forget your earplugs if you value quiet. Off-season, this spot is ideal for friends' getaways or a quick romantic escape. Overall, a charming and practical choice that offers great value and a fantastic location near the ocean.

Hospitality is not simply a service offered here--it is the very heart of the culture. From the moment my husband and I arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth, welcoming smiles, and a level of kindness that immediately made us feel valued as guests. Every interaction with the staff reflected a sincere commitment to hospitality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. It is evident that caring for others is not just part of their job description; it is something they genuinely embrace. We would especially like to recognize and thank Bridgette, who welcomed us upon our arrival. Bridgette went above and beyond to ensure we knew our way to our room, had everything we needed, and felt completely comfortable from the very beginning of our stay. More than that, she made us feel as though we were home for the night rather than simply guests checking into a hotel. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care exemplify what exceptional hospitality should be. Her guest service is truly stellar and deserving of recognition. Beyond the outstanding service, the location is ideal. Hotel San Buena is within walking distance of the heart of the city, providing convenient access to a wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Whether you are looking for casual dining, upscale cuisine, or something in between, the diverse selection of nearby restaurants offers something for every taste and preference. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Rich in historical architecture and character, Hotel San Buena offers a unique experience that blends timeless elegance with modern comfort. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are transported to another era. The attention to architectural detail, charm, and preservation of the building's history create an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and memorable. Perhaps one of the most refreshing aspects of our stay was discovering that the hotel is exactly what it appears to be on its website. In an era where photos can sometimes overpromise, Hotel San Buena exceeds expectations. The beauty, character, cleanliness, and ambiance showcased online are an accurate reflection of the experience guests receive upon arrival. Simply put, it is beautiful. An additional feature we greatly appreciated was the secure, guest-only parking. Knowing that parking was safe, well-maintained, and reserved exclusively for hotel guests provided an added sense of comfort and peace of mind throughout our stay. The team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay. Their attentiveness, positive attitudes, and genuine care create an environment that feels welcoming, personal, and authentic. For anyone searching for accommodations in the area, my husband and I wholeheartedly encourage you to make Hotel San Buena your first choice. Whether traveling for business, leisure, or a special occasion, you will find a property where exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, historic charm, and heartfelt hospitality come together seamlessly. In an industry where genuine hospitality can sometimes be difficult to find, Hotel San Buena stands as a shining example of what it means to make guests feel truly welcome. We leave with wonderful memories, deep appreciation for the staff, and every intention of returning in the future.
