LOVED our stay! We made a game time decision and booked a stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Oxnard/Camarillo on our drive down to San Diego. The room was great! Highly recommend if you have kids! The kitchen inside our suite was helpful when it came to cleaning/preparing bottles and the ability to refrigerate our food was a nice touch. The room was pretty large and the free breakfast buffet was a great meal before driving the rest of the leg down to San Diego. Tesla chargers can be found at the shopping plaza a couple miles down with the Wholefoods! Also, wanted to mention they accept pets too! read more

My husband and I stayed here to visit family nearby for a few days. We liked that the suites had a kitchen. The king bedroom suite was clean and roomy for our baby and dog to walk around. They only offer mini cribs and no play pens. The decor of the hotel was eclectic but not in a cute Kimpton Hotel way. Some things didn't quite match, but the furniture was comfy. We liked the hot breakfast in the morning, which seemed better in quality than other comparable hotels. We arrived on Friday night and unbeknownst to us they put us in a room directly underneath rooms that were being renovated. Saturday morning the constant hammering began. Frustrated but understanding, and reassured by staff that they would be done by 3:30, we left the room we paid for to try and find a more peaceful place to rest. We returned at 4:30 to constant hammering. We complained again only to be told we could pack everything up and move again! Like why did you put us there in the first place, trust me, this place was not full late Friday night. Then at 9:45 Saturday night the fire alarm went off, which is the middle of the night for us, we were woken out of a deep sleep, out into the cold night. No apology for any of this, no compensation, they don't care. They are happy to take your $400 and really couldn't care less how they treat you as a guest. read more

Let me just save you some time, this is the number to Hilton corporate to complain if you do in fact, make the mistake of staying at this property. 1 (800) 548-8690. You will need this number because the general manager, Dolores Licon will not be of much help. I brought my 94 year-old mother here for one night. I thought it made sense because there was plenty of room and they would have a roll in shower. That part did work out. I had called the hotel twice before we arrived to make sure they would put me as close as possible to my mom so that if she needed anything, I would be very close. When I got to the front desk, the person there told me they had no information about anybody calling ahead for anything. The first thing you notice while trying to navigate the hallways is that the carpeting has not been stretched in so long, it has bunched up and now becomes a tripping hazard for anyone, especially someone using a walker. Very dangerous. I managed to get Mom to the room safely and off to bed. The next morning when I checked in on her, she said she hardly slept at all because the mattress was so lumpy. I was horrified since I paid extra to stay at this property with the larger rooms and little kitchenette and all, but she was just desperately uncomfortable. When I laid on the bed, my butt sag down at least halfway, if not more to the boxspring. Very uncomfortable. When I spoke with Dolores about it, she told me that they had just replaced all of their mattresses and that there was nothing wrong with it. Without coming and looking without checking without anything She basically chose to tell me that I was lying and that the mattresses were fine. That was her way of handling the situation. No apologies no "let me see what I can do" that was it. No one here is looking to help you or find a solution. They are only looking for ways to get out of any responsibility for their property. Had a business meeting in the area and our company booked us a couple rooms at this hotel. I gotta say, the good things about this place end at the lobby. The only updating that has been done in the last two decades is in the lobby. Does no one notice that every single light in the hallways has been smashed beyond repair? And if you notice it, why not do something about it? The carpets in the hallways and the room are simply filthy. The overall age of the place isn't hard to notice. The breakfast served is a nice option and the location is convenient. Beyond that, this place is dicey, to put it mildly. Sidenote: the amount of people living here full time is.... unnerving. As is the fact that both the rooms that were booked for us (and then the front desk girl puts us on different floors- #CouldYouBeAnyMoreInconvienient) had 'tweekers' on the floor above our rooms who were up all night rearranging furniture.... or bowling. It was hard to tell which. ALL. NIGHT. LONG. We got more sleep during our Uber drive to our meeting, then at this hotel. read more

We recently stayed at the Homewood Suites in Oxnard. The hotel is located in a business park area, and there aren't many restaurants nearby, except for Outback Steakhouse which is within walking distance. There is plenty of parking, and the hotel was very clean, and very large. We were on the third floor and our room was immaculately clean, large and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although, being Hilton Honors members we are used to getting bottles of water upon check-in and that was not the case when we arrived. But if passing through town, it is a good place to stay as it is located just off the 101 freeway. read more

I am a huge fan of homewood suites. I love how it comes with a kitchen that has full size fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher and basic utensils. Complimentary hot Breakfast is served daily and evening light dinner and drinks are offered Monday-Thursday. We booked 2 bedroom suite that came with 2 bathrooms, each with a jetted tub. The living room is decent size and comes with a sofa sleeper. The couch was old and bit uncomfortable. Carpeting was old too and had some stains. Other than that, we had a great stay. Parking is complimentary and staff is wonderful. read more

After arriving to the hotel after travel about 8:30pm, the air-conditioner in my room did not work. I called down stairs and was told by a gentleman that maintenance would be right up. I waited 45 minutes and called back down and the woman apologized and said that they could not find the maintenance person. I asked if I could then change my room and she took care of that. When arriving to my new room, I noticed that both rooms were without creamers and Splenda for coffee and in the bathroom, there was only shampoo and conditioner...but a girl needs some lotion. I called down and asked to have lotion, Splenda and creamers brought up. When they dropped off the bag, I had sugar and sweet n low. Not exactly what I asked for. The room was pretty basic with the bare minimum. This includes the quality . Not what I am used to when I stay at a Hilton. The beds at Hilton are usually the Most comfortable, and this was far, far from that. My body was extremely disappointed. The bathroom wasn't much to look at either. Even the soap was not the good soap they usually use, but a generic soap that looks like they bought in bulk that leaves a film on your skin. Not nice. The shower was small with an old school bathtub. I don't think I would choose this location again. read more

The room was nice, the shampoo and conditioner where extra nice. I ran out of shampoo so they delivered me more. The room cleaning crew was very nice, but did not speak much English. That's ok. They do a good job in the room. The TV was real small. I have a much larger computer monitor. When I checked in the front desk was not very helpful or friendly. I watched other too and he seamed too busy in the back. Maybe doing paperwork. Not, customer service. It is in the middle of a Bussiness park. Kinda weird. It is not fancy and has only the basics. There is no free breakfast of any kind. They have a little thing, kinda a bar that you can get breakfast. I went to Ventura at the last minute. So, not much to choose from. I will not go back here. I haven't even stayed here yet and I am already dreading the stay because the reservation department gave me false statements about a deposit (yes I'm aware most hotels have deposits). I spoke to the reservation department and "clarified that I had a pre-paid card that doesn't return my deposits and I know this from past experiences with every hotel, this card just doesn't give it back but I use it strictly for my direct deposits. They said with the false statement "there will be no deposit." I called the hotel directly to clarify there is no deposit, hotel lobby's Nickole and her unprofessionalism rudely states " there's a 100 dollar deposit for incidentals, haven't you been to a hotel before?" So I'm getting my information ready for some legal action as I made formal complaints and even had the worst verbal altercation with a gal by the name of honey a complaint reporter for that company, and also had to speak to her supervisor which is trying to bring some serenity to the situation after dealing with two unprofessional constituents. Although senior case manager Marvin refused to incriminate himself with agreeing or admitting that his reps gave me false information thus leading to entrapment of having to stay at this hotel or be charged with a penalty cancelation charge due to the lies that were told, making it an actual "lose, lose" situation... I will also be making a multitude amount of complaints on every social media platform i can find. As hectic they have made my situation, I will return the favor, not only through legal battle but, whichever elements I can use.... read more

Extremely disappointing to say the least! Lacks common courtesy, customer service and brains. I booked a 2 bedroom suite for my colleagues about a month ago. The front desk representatives made them wait for 2.5 hours at the front desk to check them in, while they decided to laugh and have the time of their life. Note, my colleagues had a long ass day, driving 3 hours to their destination, working a full shift and dealing with these (I am going to keep the well deserved offensive words to myself) reps. During this same occasion, I ended up calling in to extend their 2 bedroom suite for one more night. However the representative that was assisting me informed me that they needed to downgrade their room because they were full booked out on their 2 bedroom suites and requested they come back to move their stuff. I decided to log into my Hilton honors account and was quite appalled to see they had 2 bedroom suites available.... I got back on the line with the rep and told her that the online database showed 2 bedroom suites, and of course she miraculously pulled a room from the gates of heaven. Lovely. I guess I should be thankful for this. To end the reservation, their rooms weren't booked NOT ONE SINGLE DAY! They were here for a week... Fast forward one month later. I decided to give this hotel the benefit of doubt, and rebooked with them. This time I made sure to have everything set up HOURSSSSSSS before check in so they didn't have any bullshit ass excuses. Submitted the credit card authorization and everything. Welp, this time the front desk representative decided she didn't want to open her eyes at work.... Because instead of charging the card on the payment authorization form that i submitted, she asked my colleague for his personal card for a "deposit" but re-charged him the entire booking. LOL LOVELY. End story, I ended up booking with Hampton inn Channel Islands. WAY WAY WAY BETTER EXPERIENCE! I turned in all paperwork as requested and their check in was as smooth as can be. Moral of the story, don't book here unless you want bottom tier customer service. read more

Checked in Christmas Eve night because my husband and I didn't want to make the drive back home late at night. When I checked in with the front desk I asked if I could pay extra for a late check out, he asked how late I wanted to check out and I told him 1 pm. He told me that's the latest check out before they start charging so I didn't need to pay for an extended late check out. So we went to bed and I set my alarm for 12:30 to start getting ready for check out the next day. Christmas Day I'm awaken by pounding on my door at 11:30 by a different man telling me I needed to check out if I wasn't staying another night. I told him I was told last check out was at 1 pm and he told me no that I needed to talk to the front desk. When I called the front desk and explained what I was told when I checked in she rudely told me that if I requested a late check out that the man that worked the night before would have told her but she wasn't told anything and that I had 15 minutes to check out or I'd be charged another night. I then had to rush packing my things, we didn't even get to shower because she proceeded to call the room 2 times after that rushing us to check out even though she said she was "giving" us 15 minutes to pack our things. We come out here every year for Christmas to visit my in laws and normally pick a Hilton out here to stay at but chose this Homewood suits because of how late it was but I will NEVER stay here and will discourage family and friends to not stay at this location. ***Choosing this place for temporary housing from your home insurance is not ideal. Find a better option.*** The hospitality services provided were not satisfactory. During check-in, it was mentioned that there was no one available to help with the luggage and that no trolleys were available. I was advised to return at noon when more help would be available. However, upon returning, the front desk manager informed me that they do not offer luggage assistance and all trolleys were being used. The door entry system had issues reading the card and I had to visit the front office three times to get inside. Housekeeping was not as promised, it was supposed to be done every two days but it had not been done yet. Someone called and claimed that we had a do not disturb sign on the front door when in reality, the sign was inside and our dog was inside a kennel. I received a call from the general manager who was kind enough to explain the reason why the housekeeper did not enter as I had the dog sign tag and not the dog not disturb sign however on the second day when the house cleaning services were not provided I called that evening upon returning from work to figure out the reason why. I explained that my 10 pound dog was inside a kennel and it was safe to enter however I still received a call the following day that they cannot enter for the following reason. They attempted to say that it was for safety reason however it was a disconnected and miscommunication from the front desk when I called. I can see reading the reviewed here that they have had communication issues in the past with front desk however they make it sound like it was the guest fault. I will leave the staff name out but the know who they are and all I ask is that if they are going to be working in the hospitality department that they should come with the willingness to assist and actually provide a great customer service. I can say that they have been working here for a while and they are checked out. Please review the trends prior to booking. My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Inn located at 2000 Solar Dr Oxnard CA 93036. We checked in on 11/23 and checked out on 11/24. We stayed in room 521. The stand up lamp closest to the chair didn't work. The hot water never got hot enough where I had to turn it down which was kind of cold for me. I left an unopened bottle of wine. When I called to see if house keeping found it and turned it in I was told "all they found was an empty bottle of wine". I was very shocked and let alone disappointed, I was told "the bottle, it was empty". I assure you the bottle of wine I am referring to it was never opened! I asked if they have Continental breakfast in the morning, I was simply told, No. No explanation why or that they offer anything for breakfast. Plus I was shocked "all candy $5.00" all non alcoholic drinks (small bottles of water $5.00). My gut feeling told me to buy our drinks and snacks for the night, at the 7-11 just down the street. Do I want to be here? Nope but my pipe leaked and we've been hibernating here going on three weeks now. Pros: laundry facility for $2 per load, free parking, ample breakfast items to choose from, super helpful and friendly staff. It's right off the freeway but without the noise. There's a small, clean gym. Housekeeping and toiletries are great! Pool is room temp and usually quiet. There are plenty of stores nearby and a few restaurant options. Con: only one complaint and that is the card entry door in the far back. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Usually someone will come by or exit. Overall, we're glad to be here. I will address this in two different ways. This property can be great for anyone who is not handicapped or having issues with extensive walking. My personal experience has been 50/50. On one side of the coin the rooms have been nothing but the best. Some of the managerial staff however are the opposite This is a franchise Hilton property and is in a great location but I have had plenty my share of bad experiences there. By accident tonight I booked a room at that property and when I called to correct the matter, let's say the attitude I got was an unpleasant reminder of why i DON'T recommend it to any of my clients. With Hilton, customer service is a #1 priority. Getting rude with a customer is simply not acceptable. Tonight I had to contend with a quite rude young lady in management who made it clear they will not ever again provide their service to me again. (Frankly, no loss). My first response though, is I begin to question question, what if anyone on the edge of suicidal consideration gets hit with such an unprofessional manner of communication... That simply is not acceptable. I can however recommend the Hilton Garden Inn next door to this property. Almost all of my stays have been nothing but the best. There have been a limited few bad experiences but no hotel property is perfect. This review is simply to get the word out there to help others avoid a potential bad experience. On the positive side, after speaking with the young lady who was so rude, a gentleman spoke with me when I called back, who was absolutely Hilton level of quality in his communication. We found our new getaway paradise. We stayed in the Fireplace Suite with a King bed, and a huge whirlpool tub. The shower products were Crabtree and Evelyn, and the coffee and tea in the kitchen were both Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. The large refrigerator was perfect for holding beverages and leftovers which we reheated in the microwave. The kitchen did have 2 burners, dishes, cutlery, glassware, and basic cooking tools which I do plan on doing some of on our next stay. The complementary morning breakfast was not bad, my biggest complaint would be that the precooked food was not very warm. The waffles are pretty delicious, and it was different food both mornings we were there. We did have a small issue with the living room television not working, but we only sat out there to eat and we used the one in the bedroom the rest of the time. If you were to ask what the room was lacking, I would have to say slippers and robes since those are what my husband was literally looking for. We've become accustomed to having our jacuzzi rooms come with those and so it was surprising that the Hilton did not have them. read more

Customer service has changed! Representative wear jeans and shirt's on the weekend and have really bad attitudes. We spoke to Ashley at the hotel and she was full of bad vibes and customer service. Very discriminatory behavior. Hotel management is not to concerned about the lack of professionalism or its patrons. read more

It was an okay stay. Overall the room itself was nice, but not phenomenal. The room had burn marks in the carpet as well as on the table and the paint needed to be redone. The pillows were to soft to the point where they went flat but I know that's more preference. Really, the issue is the front desk. The manager Dolores is ruder than rude. My mother paid for the reservation for us and even though it had been completely paid for and I offered to show on the statement where it had been paid they insisted on running the physical card. I offered to provide another card for incidentals but was told that was not acceptable and had to have another card available to be ran for the whole balance (over $1300). When I asked politely (no Karen here, I promise) how come and that I was sure many people made reservations for other people and that I couldn't be the first person not to have the physical card with me used to purchase the room Dolores told me "if you would stop talking I would explain to you that those people know to call us and fill out the authorization form we need before check in". She had major attitude and wouldn't listen to anything i even tried to say or ask. Mind you this is no where on their website nor is it mentioned when you receive a confirmation/receipt. After informing her that my mom is a cancer patient in treatment and that it was hard for her to come down, We finally found a solution but my mother still had to come down the next day and provide them with the card. Had another hotel been available for the length of time I needed to stay, I would have selected elsewhere just based off my interaction with her. As a manager in customer service myself I have no idea how she is still in the position she is in, especially considering seeing the amount of reviews mentioning specifically the same department. I booked the room through Hotels.com when I arrived to check in, they put me in a dungeon, no view whatsoever the view I had was a an elevator trashcan and a staircase. I was not impressed whatsoever. I've made multiple attempts in the past to drive by look at the place because it was so beautiful from the outside, but on the inside motel six had a better view they had nothing but excuses at the front desk blaming it on the third-party booking. There is a parking fee of $45 to park your vehicle underground that wasn't included that was surprise to me. I'll never ever stay at this hotel again it's a disgrace to see how something so nice in the outside could be so Unbearable on the inside. The service in the restaurant was a wait of 30 minutes just to get a cup of coffee, the staff there was understaffed and the kids working the counters. Need to have a little bit more supervision because I just weren't up to par. It was like being in a high school all over again. I can't believe that establishment can be so pathetic thanks for your experience and I prefer to stay at at a motel six cause that's the type of service that I got and was completely let down. Let the concierge know that he's not doing his job. Neither of the kids at the front desk. Complete utter disaster. You might need to just clean house get rid of everybody because they just don't get service. read more

Gorgeous hotel. One of the best Homewood Suites Properties I've stayed in. I love these brands because of the mini kitchen and living room that each location has. The entry way and lobby area was decorated for the holidays. It gave the hotel a great welcoming touch. I'm also a fan of the evening social events. I checked out their menu (since it varies at different locations) and I noticed pho night on one of the dates! Lovin' the diversity! Too bad I won't be here that night. The hotel is very clean and cozy. Check-in was seamless and they surprised me with a goodie bag and a card that said I was their randomly selected 'guest of the day'! We threw my dad's surprise 70th birthday bash here and all I can say is everything turned out perfect. The staff was extremely kind and helpful with everything we asked them for. The hotel is clean and well kept. It's a perfect distance from everything. Liquor store as next door, the Oxnard outlets are steps away and the freeway is a block away. It's kind of a distance from the beaches but when visiting Oxnard in the winter, it's not a big deal. The hotel is pretty new and all the rooms are suites so you get a living room space, a kitchen with a full size refrigerator, small stove and a nice size bedroom. There is a flat screen tv in both rooms so there is plenty of space to have some one stay over if they get too drunk lol. The lobby area is nice a big with a huge flat screen tv for plenty of people to watch the game. We were actually sneaking out to the lobby to catch some of the Eagles/Redskins game while the party was going on. If interested in renting one of their meeting rooms, we decided to go with the Ventura room which is the smaller of the two. It's a nice size room that fits about 50 people with chairs and tables. They provided a speaker for music and we were able to get some dancing in. I wouldn't recommend this room if you're planning on having a DJ or a bigger party. This room is a pretty intimate size. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. They have complimentary breakfast every morning and they provide dinner mon-thurs. I will definitely be back to stay. Great rooms and space for the price. Stayed here last week for work and really enjoyed my visit....upon arrival they informed me that they upgraded my room to a 2 bedroom suite...Thank You Hilton Honors program! My room was very spacious and complete with a small kitchenette, living room, small eating area and 2 bedrooms. Both rooms where very well equipped even though I only needed one room it was very spacious. The master bedroom had plenty of space to stretch out and relax complete with a Jacuzzi tub, full bathroom, fireplace and a king sized bed which was very comfortable. What I like best about Homewood Suites is the free complimentary breakfast and M-Th free dinner and happy hour. The staff here was also very friendly and love the fact that they acknowledge you coming and going with a greeting of "welcome back" or have a great day/night. They also have a great pool area that is larger and spread out than most hotel chains. They have covered cabana areas to relax in as well as built in bbq's and a basketball court. These hotels are perfect for any business traveler or family. read more

I, recently, stayed at this Hotel during a work conference. I called the Hotel that morning to see if I could check in early, as the conference started in the afternoon and I wanted to freshen up and possibly take a nap after my early morning plane ride. I was,immediately, placed on hold for over 7 minutes. When I called back later, I was informed that the room would not be ready before check in at 3 pm. I was shocked, as I travel often and most hotels of this caliber will usually accommodate an early check in. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 6 o'clock, and was met with mediocre customer service. I was given a room on the 3rd floor, the furthest from the front desk and elevator. I was directed to go outside the building and walk around to the outside door as the easiest way to get to my room. I had my 4 and 5 year old and 5 bags of luggage, and you think that walking around the building, and climbing 3 flights of stairs is the dest route? When I arrive to my room, I notice: 1. The furniture looks cheap, worn, dirty. 2. The room is across the hall from the stairwell door, which will be opening and closing all hours. 3. The floors are filthy and riddled with stains. I call the front desk to ask about changing rooms, and was asked "what's wrong with the room" in the nastiest, most condescending tone you can imagine. I go on to explain the above, and am immediately told there is no other room available. There was no offer to check to see if anything would be available the next day or day after that. Now, I'm annoyed and borderline angry. Half way through lugging my things up 3 flights of stairs, my key card stops working, and I get locked out of the building. I had to, then, walk back to the front desk to get the card reactivated. The next morning my keycard wasn't working again, and I had to get it reactivated. I went to my conference, and when I returned the key card didn't work again. Now, I'm pissed. I'm spending more time getting cardio than staying in my hotel room. I get to the front desk, and another guest is being assisted. However, I see another employee doing nothing. She looks at me, doesn't say anything and walks off. Finally, I am assisted, and the employee blames me saying keeping the key card near my cell phone was deactivating it. I, then, made a conscious effort to make sure the key didn't come into close contact with my phone. The next morning the newly activated key didn't work. I will never stay here again. This is some of the worst service I have ever experienced. The room was dated, dirty, and reminded me more of a dated Comfort Inn. I usually stay at Marriotts and Fairmonts, and have never had my keycards deactivate, even though they were kept in my cellphone case. I have, also, never been blamed for a hotel issue. This is my first time trying a Hilton, and this might be my last. Please save yourself time and frustration, and book a room somewhere else. This place is filthy, and the service is TERRIBLE! read more

Five star experience in this hotel! Loved that it has a little kitchenette (complete with dishwashing machine, microwave, stove tops) , a little dining table, living room table, and a couch in our little studio. In addition, they have complimentary breakfast every day and on Monday had happy hour snacks if you're interested. The service was also amazing, everyone from the front desk to the maintenance men were super duper friendly, and because it was Valentine's Day, they gave us complimentary chocolate covered strawberries! Yes I do recommend HSbH! I discovered this location when searching for a place to cook my meals while working away from home. I've returned many times. The hotel is located right off the 101 freeway. I am so grateful for hotel manager Dolores and her staff. All so kind, very helpful, accommodating and friendly. read more
