    Balcony view from 2nd floor
    Charisse E.

Ocean view Fresh smell of the ocean (not fishy like seal beach etc) Decent bed to sleep in Walking distance to the beach Affordable price (2nd floor $175 ) Yes the room maybe a bit "outdated" or smells like bleach w/vinegar, etc. BUT we will come back here because of the view and convenience to the beach. We've spent a lot (from del Coronado to catalina, etc.) year after year looking for a beachfront hotel and this, by far made me sooo happy I could barely sleep coz It was so nice to stay in the balcony star gazing, hearing the waves, wind blowing on my face.. I was living the moment Soo.. if you're looking for a place to see and feel the beach by just opening one sliding door, this is your place.

This is a wonderful, small hotel with only 24 rooms that all face the beach. A great place to go for sunset and just to relax with lots of restaurants just a few minutes away. This is a very walkable area of Ventura. We actually live in Ventura and we tried out this hotel as a "staycation." it was wonderful to leave the sliding glass door open and listen to the waves all night. Nice to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset and then walk to the Italian restaurant across the street. The manager, Jay, was very helpful with all of our questions as we chatted about the area. I'll definitely recommend this place to out of town guests.

This little spot is so cute. The view is perfect. Just waking up to the smell of ocean brightens my day. I recommend this place to anyone. So many places to eat nearby and the harbor is not too far. Enjoyable stay.

We have been going every year, and it's great! There are ADA rooms on the first floor. And there's an elevator too. In the morning, they give out food and drinks, too. Jay is really nice too. They also have a branded hoodie you can buy.

Margaret was great at check-in, and made sure we were good to go. Rooms are small but you have a balcony view with a table and chairs to sit and view the ocean waves crashing on the beach maybe 50 yards max away. The sound of the waves crashing and sunsets at night are wonderful. This is not a 5 star hotel/inn and they do not claim to be. Very simple on and on the beach. Places to eat near by with plenty of Micro-Breweries around. Topa Topa, Made West, Leashless, Poseidon and more. Also great little wineries as well. We recommend Old Creek Ranch Winery. We loved it and will be coming back.

    Sunset from the balcony.

Loved our staycation. Yes, it's been around a long time and is a bit weathered, but it is charming, warm and cozy. Staff is WONDERFUL. Thank you! Happy to see the renovations to the first floor are moving along nicely.

Loving the fireplace in my room

This is amazing little seaside hotel has every room facing the beach! It actually sits right on the beach and there's nothing between the hotel and the ocean but sand. In the evening about an hour before sunset so many people show up on the beach with a blanket or a chair or just to stand on the sidewalks and watch the stunning sunsets. The front desk folk here cater to your every needs. The downstairs has been remodeled, and the rooms are pleasant. When it's cold, each room has an electric fireplace that can be quite romantic. Continental breakfast is free. and it meets the needs of a traveler. We find the Hotel family friendly and have traveled with children ranging from infants to teenagers. The restaurants at Pierpont are plentiful and buried. No need to drive anywhere. This is our favorite beach day, if I'm honest. If you cannot get a room online, you can call the front desk because sometimes they have last-minute cancellations and they can squeeze you in.

Okay okay, so I know all the other reviews sound horrifying but we decided why not give this land mark a shot! Lucky enough to get 3rd floor. Honestly the room and everything was pretty clean! It has this vintage feel to it! Balcony directly looking onto the beach. The restroom was renovated they have complimentary toiletries. The bedding was clean, there is a fire place because it will get cold. This fire place does wonders the whole room was toasty. Customer service was wonderful. The clerk attendant was nice and helpful. Both evening and following next morning. You will receive a parking paper to place in your window while your stay. In the morning they have single wrapped pastries. Other people did hate on those but dude it's complimentary! Also all the hateful comments regarding the mask. Why would you be outside of your home if you're so afraid of Covid still? Stay home, stop brining your misery to others you a holes. Pro tip, best floor is 3rd floor, then 2nd. First is lowers and covered with a glass. It's not bad but I like the height. Oh and the wall paper here is fucking great!

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

For many years, Ojai Valley Inn was one of my favorite destinations. I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

I was the second room from the furthest point and still didn't have much of a view. I had a small balcony which provided fresh air and a place to dry wet bathing suits. At least 3 times a day you would hear the loud train noise even on the 9th floor; I'd suggest the sunset view vs pier view going forward. The restroom was extremely small, the water pressure was low at all times; sink and shower. The sliding barn door had frosted glass which blinded the entire room with the bathroom lights on in a dark room; poor design choice as the door was only 1-2 feet away from the bed. The pool was heated but not @80 degrees as described; complementary towels available at the front desk. Drinks are allowed on the pool deck but must be in plastic; no glass allowed. The Aloha bar had friendly bartenders with decent food and drink options; I wasn't a fan of the ahi salad, it had too much wasabi in the dressing. The hotel was located about a 5min drive from downtown Ventura and a 10min walk, this location wasn't as centrally located like the Clocktower hotel but likely less noise from foot traffic. Late check out @1 is complementary and prioritized with IHG rewards members, however I was not allowed the option. I doubt I'd return due to the above mentioned. Late check out should always be an option.

Although it's right next to the highway, staying here feels like stepping into a peaceful parallel universe-- the world still moves on the other side of the wall, but you're suspended in your own quiet, dreamlike bubble until it's time to return to reality. The service is too notch! She has gone out of her way to accommodate us and never made any request feel like it was too much or an inconvenience. If you thought this place couldn't get any better, it DOES-- they have a Restaurant that serves lunch and dinner!!! Let me stop before I write a novel. This has literally become my favorite hotel.

Solid Marriott right up the street from the beach…read more.. I stayed here while in town for work. While this wasn't the nicest Marriott I've stayed at, it was respectable and I enjoyed my stay. Situated on busy Harbor Blvd., the hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are a few local watering holes within a 10 minute walk (Social Tap & Dukes) and about a 20 minute walk to the pier where other restaurants are located... Recommend checking out Ericsson's Seafood Co., as it was outstanding with the quintessential Cali beach bar vibes. The hotel itself was nice... It looks to be recently updated, kept clean/tidy, well-kept pool, big fitness center, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Added bonus if you're from the Midwest like me... There's an In n' Out directly across the street. Overall, good Marriott and worth the stay if visiting Ventura Beach.

The rooms here are decent, but the overall layout of the property is a bit inconvenient. Breakfast…read moreservice was surprisingly slow, even though it was a buffet. The staff seemed to be trying hard, but it felt like they were either understaffed or not properly trained. The biggest issue for me, however, was the lack of service in the M Club Lounge. I arrived Friday night and checked out Sunday morning, and during that entire time the lounge was never properly restocked, refreshed, serviced, or even cleaned. As a Lifetime Titanium member, that was extremely disappointing. At that point, it makes you question why you chose this Marriott property in the first place when the key elite benefit isn't being maintained. I honestly would have considered another Marriott property -- or even a Hilton -- had I known. I brought the issue up to the front desk, but they seemed somewhat oblivious to the fact that this is a core guest amenity issue, not just something reserved for weekday corporate travelers. The hotel definitely has potential, but it needs stronger management attention and better operational oversight to deliver the level of experience expected from the brand.

Great stay at Santa Paula Inn! From the moment we booked, everything felt welcoming and easy. The…read morephone reservation was especially pleasant--friendly, courteous, and the owner/manager answered my questions directly (a hospitality level I haven't experienced in years). Arrival was smooth. The half-circle drive off Mill Street is easy to enter and was open when we arrived. The only tip I'd add is once you get past the front area, head toward the rear parking lot for the best flow. Walking up to the front door is charming--Swiss/German country cottage style with historic character, dark wood tones, and shingle siding (with white end units). The lobby setup is warm and inviting, with great lighting and multiple seating areas where you can relax or have a conversation. Check-in was quick and friendly. The staff explained the room ventilation controls and the split cooling system (new technology). The room stayed very quiet and comfortable--our third-floor room cooled to about 65°F each night. The stairs to the third floor were exactly as expected--no elevator--and they felt well designed with consistent tread depth and height. The hallways also have fun movie posters from the 20-60s, which adds personality. We stayed in Room 301, and it was roomy (about 300 sq ft). The room had a chaise lounge with an ottoman, plus a desk and chair. The bathroom layout is a bit old-school, with the sink just outside the bathroom area inside the bedroom, but it worked fine. There's a small step up (around 1 1/2 inches), and the tub/shower and toilet were comfortable and clean. The shower had plenty of hot water. The bed was a highlight--pillow-top comfort with very soft sheets and comforters. The king pillows were large, soft, and easy to adjust (even though I usually prefer smaller ones, these were great). Overall, the room and property felt quiet. It seemed like most guests were in by around 9:00, and we had a peaceful, restful night's sleep. Also worth noting: there are four EV chargers in the rear parking lot for electric vehicle owners. The restaurant looked amazing and smelled great, though we didn't dine this trip--we're planning to next time we fly into Santa Paula Airport. Finally, Monica, the manager, was wonderful--an absolute pleasure to talk with and genuinely kind. And a special thank-you for the complimentary morning coffee and muffins. Highly recommend for anyone who wants comfort, charm, and quiet peace.

We recently stayed at the Glen Tavern Inn and had a mixed experience…read more The highlight was the staff. At check-in, we realized our assigned room was near two very barky dogs, and the front desk was kind and accommodating in relocating us to another room. I think it was even a better room. I appreciated their willingness to help. Unfortunately, the room itself felt more worn than charming. The furniture had visible wear and staining, the ceiling showed patched areas and water stains that really needed a fresh coat of paint, and the overall impression was tired rather than historic. A few relatively simple updates would go a long way toward elevating the experience. The bathroom was tight, and it had a small step up that we kept forgetting about, despite the (small) warning sign. The provided toiletries were among the worst I've encountered at a hotel. I had forgotten my own shampoo and soap and planned to use what was provided, but it was SO bad. The tiny disc of soap did not lather. On the positive side, the property felt safe and the room was clean. The lobby had dark wood and a homey feel. But what could have felt like a charming historic inn instead came across as simply old and overdue for some attention. While I appreciated the friendly service, I wouldn't choose to stay here again until I knew they had made some upgrades. From what I hear, this is the nicest place in Santa Paula, so I guess we would stay in nearby Ojai at a similar price point.
