The staff was dismissive and made little effort to assist us, even when we clearly needed help. It felt like we were being ignored on purpose. What made the situation even worse was the way we were treated compared to other guests. It honestly felt discriminatory and unfair, as if we were not being given the same level of service because of who we are. No one should have to feel that way while staying at a hotel. We expected basic respect and hospitality, but instead we left feeling frustrated and hurt. I would not recommend staying here based on our experience.

There was also no acknowledgement of Hilton Diamond status at check-in. Normally that's standard at most Hilton properties. The hotel itself feels very dated and clearly needs renovation. The staff also seemed confused and unprepared to handle basic requests. After I complained about the room, they moved me to the third floor. Unfortunately that room wasn't much better and was also in serious need of updating. Midway through my stay the manager texted asking how the stay was going on a scale of 1-5. I responded with a 2. She asked if she could call me between 1:00 and 5:00. The call never happened. Another odd thing: after every Hilton stay I typically receive an email asking me to review the property. I never received one for this stay. There are simply too many other hotel options in this area to justify staying at this Embassy Suites again. In its current condition it does not reflect what most people expect from the Embassy Suites brand.

The front desk was very accommodating for a room change after the first night in a room in a far corner of the hotel facing the freeway with single pane windows emiting freeway traffic noise and cool air. The new room was close to the lobby, facing the quiet courtyard with better insulated windows. Gracious in fulfilling our request. The breakfast included with the accommodation is in a warmly decorated restaurant area served by highly professional and accommodating staff, offering help and filling and clearing items with quick precision. The made to order omelets were professionally made with fresh ingredients and the breakfast bar was likely one of the best stocked and well maintained I have experienced with fresh pastries and constantly refilled hot items. The room rooms are huge, too! The couch even had to pull out bed, which was great for the kids because the full-sized beds are a little small for my husband and me. It wasn't that comfortable, but are any pullout couches at hotels ever the greatest?! Just glad we had one! Con (which, yes, after reviewing some of the other insights): Yes, it's an older property, but well maintained. Overall, 10/10! Loved almost everything about this spot. Older property means older carpeting inside the rooms. Did have a stuffy smell when entering the room, but you can tell this property does not have high traffic regularly. Reception was welcoming, friendly, professional, and accommodating. Free parking. I had booked a top (6th) floor single King room (~$120/night). The room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Much more than I needed honestly. View of Camelback mountain and the airport. The included dinner was much appreciated after an early morning Grand Canyon hike and 5 hour drive back to Phoenix taking the scenic routes. Did not feel like venturing out so grabbed some food & drink and watched NBA playoffs at the bar. In the morning went to the breakfast buffet. It was stocked with all the traditional foods but also had some lesser seen items. Options for all. Breakfast, coffee, self check out (11am), rental car return, and flight. Easy morning. When I'm back in Phoenix this location is definitely on my list. Affordable. Convenient. Clean. I would've like to stay longer. 5/5

The room was as expected and clean. My only criticism is my room was right up against the road so the cars were definitely loud. Glad I had my noise machine. I did not want to Uber anywhere for dinner after a long day, so I took advantage of the Happy Hour. Score for the 3 free drinks! Friendly bartender. I went with a double of a Cabernet, grabbed some food (pretty basic with pork sliders, Mac and cheese). They really need some veggies. Got a seat in the back to read my book, eat, drink, and then back to my room for bed. Wish you could make the room temperature lower than 68*. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast. The coffee was way too strong, so I got some at the airport. You sign up for the shuttle at the front desk which runs every 30 minutes. Overall, not your destination hotel but it was clean and the added extras (when it was just me) would prompt me to stay here again.

The little clique of old people who are friends with the HOA lady run the place and literally add new rules whenever they want, most likely because they're so bored of their sad little lives they can't find anything better to do than complain about their neighbors. I OWN my condo and the constraints put on me in my own home are insane, you'd have much more freedom renting from one of the surrounding complexes or buying from the much nicer complex down the street. People here hate animals even though they're technically allowed, you're not able to use the stairs and are forced to only use the elevator, and you can't even put anything on your balcony without someone complaining it's ugly and the property manager backing them up. Also watch out for the ugly, crotchety old man that lives on the 9th floor with aggressive dogs, don't know how that guy is even still alive with that stick so far up his @ss. Also the place itself is old, ugly, stinky, and the elevators are always broken (but jokes on you, you just have to sit there and wait for them to fix it or magically fly up to your condo since using the stairs is prohibited). I would search elsewhere if you're looking to buy or rent around here, unless you enjoy being treated like sh*t in a place that is sh*t itself.

Pet friendly with mysterious crunchy spots on the carpets in your room. If you have little kids like I do and they might play on the floor really choose something else. As I mentioned , no blankets so.. my husband leaves the hotel at 1am to get blankets from walgreens for $24.99 each because that's all that was available. Spoke with Brandy the General manager and she said "at this point it's your word against ours unfortunately" . Which doesn't make sense because I complained about these issues in real time as they were occurring. Also why would I want to change rooms as if there were different housekeeper for rooms on the same floor ? One room is filthy like that it's all just dirty. She had no sympathy no apology or respect just a monotone attitude towards the entire thing and continued to insinuate that I was lying. Moves on to refund me partially (one night) for my stay after telling me "you realize you booked a non refundable option so I'm not required to do anything for you." I don't understand why the extra commentary was necessary? it wasn't! Go somewhere else and don't put yourself in the position to have to deal with extremely rude and unprofessional Brandy. p.s. Jovie is an amazing employee. Separate from this issue she is just simply a delight.

The entryways automatic door opened into a lobby that was well lit, clean and calming. There was a welcoming area for dog treats and a water bowl for your four legged friends, and nearby fresh orange spa water for us humans. The rooms were spacious and had a lot of drawer storage for guests and long stays. My 12 year old squealed with delight when she saw the complimentary teddy bear on the bed. It gave her bunny doll she brought a friend. I loved the shower pressure and temperature so much I didn't want to get out! Hahaha. I appreciate the great lighting and vanity mirror and counter space for those of us who want to put makeup on. The gym has a great variety of two treadmills, an elliptical, recumbent bike (my favorite) and other equipment such as hand weights and balls. The pool area was large and had a nice jacuzzi. Plenty of complimentary pool towels by the pool. The breakfast menu read better than the reality. I would have liked to see a few more healthier options (i.e. hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt ) but it's what will get you by for a few days stay. There is a nearby supermarket (Sprouts) where you can get options to prep food in your hotel suite kitchen if needed. There is also a complimentary happy hour that has some indulgent snacks like chips and salsa (very yum), freshly made potato chips (super yum) with choice of spinach artichoke dip (not good, too cream cheese goopy) or French onion dip (yum). It's these small touches that make a hotel special and make guests feel cared for (teddy bear too). The rooms were quiet and I loved how well the black out curtains worked. The floor carpet to our room (as another reviewer mentioned) could use a deeper cleaning or makeover but nothing bothersome enough to bring my review rating down. This situation is both concerning and unacceptable, as prepaid reservations should not result in repeated or unexplained charges. Luckily the charge didn't go through due to me putting a hold through my bank. Im assuming if the charge would have gone through, it would take 7-10 days to get my Money back. Which is unacceptable.
