DO.NOT.BOOK!! I chose this hotel via Hilton app because I always stay with Hilton because you just expect better quality with any hotel behind the Hilton name. OR SO I THOUGHT. No blankets, no towels. DIRTY DIRTY . Close to filthy. I am not "boujee" by any means but have never stayed in a place this dirty. The hotel is RUN DOWN. Pet friendly with mysterious crunchy spots on the carpets in your room. If you have little kids like I do and they might play on the floor really choose something else. As I mentioned , no blankets so.. my husband leaves the hotel at 1am to get blankets from walgreens for $24.99 each because that's all that was available. Spoke with Brandy the General manager and she said "at this point it's your word against ours unfortunately" . Which doesn't make sense because I complained about these issues in real time as they were occurring. Also why would I want to change rooms as if there were different housekeeper for rooms on the same floor ? One room is filthy like that it's all just dirty. She had no sympathy no apology or respect just a monotone attitude towards the entire thing and continued to insinuate that I was lying. Moves on to refund me partially (one night) for my stay after telling me "you realize you booked a non refundable option so I'm not required to do anything for you." Great place to stay in Phoenix! Our room was nice and spacious with a kitchen and fridge. Close to a lot of shopping, restaurants, and a 20 minute drive to sports arenas. It came with free breakfast which was just the perk I needed before my 11 hour drive to Utah. I would of given it five but there was a guest on our floor with a dog who wouldn't stop barking and a couple doors down the hall there was a strong odor of cigarette and marijuana smoke. I was going to let staff know but the cleaning lady was on our floor so I figured she would take care of. Otherwise I really enjoyed my stay here and wish I had time to hit the beautiful pool. read more

Comfortable place to call home for a few weeks. I had the privilege to book with Maria directly. One bedroom suite with great separation from the bedroom, living-room, and kitchen. Maria listen to my needs and delivered with a first floor clean room. She was present in the lobby each morning with a smile on her face with great energy. Maria! Had been warmed welcoming during our stay. She was always visible and instrumental in making out stay great! She truly works hard to make her guests happy. She was even working a Sunday! I used a large amount of points to secure part of this stay. Was it worth it? I don't think so. The electrical was shotty. All of the outlets and half of the lights did not work upon entry of the room. Doubled checked GFCI in both kitchen area and bathroom and neither worked. The whole room was dated but clean and comfortable. The electrical was remedied the following morning by Habib. He was super friendly and knew the room had a tripped breaker. He fixed it quick and let us know the electrical was old and it would happen again and to let them know and he would get it fixed again. Nice. The breakfast situation was pretty good and convenient, nice area to sit and good warm food. Food isn't 5* but is better than most hotel hot breakfasts. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Did not try the pool out but did check it out and it looked like a nice spread, lounge chairs bbq, covered area. All in all a nice location for close food and quick trip to the malls. If looking into treating yourself with your reward points look into something nicer. read more

Let's start with the good. The rooms are well built, with spacious bedrooms and living rooms and a full kitchen stocked with all table settings and cookware. The location is fabulous - just across the street from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, with an enormous Fry's Market a block away. There is an excellent bar/restaurant just across the parking lot. The price in early April was excellent. Now for the not so good. We stayed five nights and had maid service not at all. One of the days in the middle, the maids knocked on our door, and we said we would be out in five minutes and please come back. Big mistake. They did not come back. Then there was the pool. On our first morning, my wife noticed a sign saying the pool was temporarily out of order. My wife asked at the desk just how temporary this would be. She was told by the perpetually smiling person that the heating unit is out and it would take weeks to fix (The temperature that day was pushing 100). My wife arranged for swimming at her brother's house instead. Days later Donna found out that the pool had been fixed after all, but nobody bothered to tell us. We remember fabulous breakfasts at the Homewood North Scottsdale location. Here, the selection, every day, was eggs, sausage and potato. The coffee selection was well maintained however. We may come back on a future trip due to the positives I pointed out, but will have lower expectations. read more

Nice but a little pricey, a lot of walking and you have to either valet at $35/night or self park for $28/night, and it is not that close. So either you are paying/tipping every time you want to use your car, or hike out to your car. Pools are nice that they are open 24 hrs a day, but I recommend bringing your own cans of booze as it is basically strip club prices for alcohol. Staff is top notch tho! read more

Walked in and the room smelled "funky" - it wasn't until I went to the "kitchen" area and opened the dish washer to discover the dishes were dirty and a huge burst of odor filled the room. As seen in the picture, there was a small cockroach inside the dishwasher. We did not plan on utilizing any of the amenities in that room, but they should pay more attention to sanitizing and cleaning that thoroughly for those guests who do. I mentioned it to the employee downstairs and they offered a bottle of "disinfectant." I expected to be offered to be moved to a different room. Also, went outside late at night and even with my key card o couldn't get back in the building for many minutes even after I rang the door bell. I don't believe I would stay here again. read more

The front desk agent Jordan was extremely rude during check-in and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.

We had a one room suite which was very roomy and nice. It was slightly worn though. The coffee table didn't match the furniture and there were spots of white pain on it and the edges were chipped. I did love the lamps though. I was bending down to plug in my charger when my daughter said I could plug my cord right into the lamp to recharge my phone and IPad. Wow I want one of those lamps for my house! I'm a senior so I hate bending. The only other negative I had was we asked for a non-smoking room. I thought I detected a faint smell of smoke or some odor but it was not strong enough for me to ask for a change of room. One final note. We stayed in 142. A person may not want this room in summer as the air conditioners are right outside the windows. It may be noisy. The breakfast they offered was great. There was always scramble egg, toast, bagels, and make your own waffles. The sausages differ on different days which was nice. I believe there was cereal and oatmeal on another counter. They had lots of fruit and energy bars also. The best thing was the pastries. I rarely eat pastries at hotels because they usually taste terrible. Whoever they get their pastries from do an excellent job especially with the apple danish and cinnamon rolls. They were petite size so a person can try more than one. There was muffins on the day I left but didn't have a chance to try those. Coffee could be had and paper cups were available so one could take to go along with various juices. The place has the best staff. They were always friendly and helpful whenever I had a request. Location wise this was very centrally located to the downtown area. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's were right across the street. Two blocks away was a shopping center with Michaels Crafts and Marshall's. Also a great sandwich and soup place and a kind of fusion Mexican place in parking lot. Both had delicious food. In and Out Burgers a block away. read more

I love the setup at Homewood Suites, it's more like a mini apartment than a hotel room. The rooms have an "at home" feel with a small kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and separate living area. The #1 selling point of this place for me is their individual a/c units. You can get the room Arctic cool even in the heat of Arizona summers! There are NO regulators on the a/c units which means you can be COOL COOL COOL. That is the reason for the 4 star rating from me. The rooms themselves are nothing great -- the layout is SUPERB but wow, are they starting to show their age! Moldy spots and rust stains in the showers, ripped and soiled carpet, dirty walls....it's not that pleasant of a place to stay. This location is in dire need of a renovation. read more

This property is not well maintained. The carpet looks as if it hasn't been cleaned in some time and the drapes were clinging on for dear life. The ceiling was tattered with some clear damage to the drywall. I ended up promptly checking out just an hour or two after I checked in due to the resident cockroaches that were scurrying across the walls. The front desk staff was nice enough and didn't balk at my wanting to check out immediately. It should be noted that they said that it was the climate that fostered the cockroaches. I get that, but I do want to say that I have never stayed in a hotel in Phoenix with a cockroach issue. So, if this is par for the course, sorry Hilton. I mean no disrespect. If it's not, maybe a little investment in upkeep and an exterminator...just sayin'... read more

Hubby and I did a quick overnighter while moving our child out of his college dorm for the summer. I love the location of this hotel because it's centrally located. Colleges, mall, mini-golf... etc... seems to be 10 drive from this hotel! There is a Whole Foods shopping center directly across the street so you are within walking distance from a quick grocery run if you need it. There's also a Twin Peaks (sports bar/restaurant) in that same shopping center. The staff was available if needed and friendly. The rooms are decent sized. We stayed in a 1 bedroom King Suite. It's like a one bedroom apartment. The couch in the "living room" has a full/queen sized hide-a-bed that fit our college and high school kid. It has a full sized kitchen with all the cooking utensils. There was a flat screen in the living area and bedroom. AC worked perfectly. We had a view of the pool - which by the way seemed a bit small for the scale of the hotel, but I don't swim so this was no biggie for me. There's free wifi and parking. What I loved most is that the room was incredibly clean and well kept. The decor was up to date. It had a high end feel to it without the high end price tag. I don't really do breakfast, but I did eat it here and it was great for me. Some kind of enchilada egg casserole type meal with sausages They had a variety of breads - from muffins to plain sliced. There was a make it your self waffle bar, hot and cold cereals, plenty of drink choices. The breakfast staff was on hand to help out with any requests and to clear off tables. In comparison to a couple of the other hotels we stayed at in this specific area, Courtyard Phoenix Camelback and Biltmore Embassy Suites, I definitely will 100% choose Homewood Suites for my next stay. My friend, Helena had been taking about this place for years. Her company had her working in Phoenix for weeks at a time and put her up in this hotel. They lived up to all of her high praise.. They accept dogs which is obviously extremely important to me. When we arrived they had fresh cookies and assorted cold beverages out. I really enjoyed the tangerine Fresca. Check in was pretty easy and our room was amazing. It was set up just like a small one bedroom condo. Very roomy and spacious for both os us and the dog. There's shopping abd awesome restaurants right across the street. There's even a whole foods and since we have a good size refrigerator it really works out great. Jennifer is extremely friendly and accomodating. They offer free breakfast in the morning. If give the breakfast a neutral review. One morning the cheesey eggs were very good. The next day the regular scrambled were just ok. They offer lots of fresh fruit and make your own waffles and yogurt parfaits all of these are pretty good, but the tater tots and hashbrown potatoes were terrible. I would still highly recommend this hotel whenever you need a place to stay in the area. read more

Never Again!!!!! I checked in late after a long day of travel and could not wait to go to bed. I was aroused a some ridiculous early hour to the sound of a dumpster being emptied. Literally it sounded as if it was in my room. The next wake up was from kids playing at a school or day care before 7:00 am. Now lets get to the real issue. I wake up and when I see the bed sheets in daylight there are blood stains on them!! Yes I said blood! I was entirely freaked out and all I could think was get a shower and get out. That was when the ugliness of the mildew in the shower revealed itself. Big black gobs of mildew growing around the soap dish. I checked out voicing my shock and disappointment. The attendant working the counter offered a credit of points or a refund. This may have meant something had she followed thru. This was more like a $50.00 room not a $200.00 room! Smells like they shampooed the carpet with dirty water; the attendant at the front desk was super rude and very unhelpful. There was a problem with the third party we used to book the room and his solution was to just charge us for the room again! What choice do we have??? It's midnight thanksgiving night, finding a room will be impossible! So now we are paying double for a room that isn't worth a quarter of what we were charged. This better get fixed tomorrow morning. I've stayed at this property several times. The location is primo! The ambiance so-so, the free breakfasts are good-to-go (ok), and the rooms are just ok also. There is free internet, a big plus+ and the TV channels are fair to good. How do I say anything about this place to break the ho-hum feeling I get about it over-all?---Hummm---Well, did I mention the free breakfast?! They have self-made waffles! There Ya Go! Waffles! They provide USA TODAY FREE! and fresh fruit every morning with a snack bag for your grab-n'-go moment if you must run and skip breakfast... Did I mention the free breakfasts?!... How's about I focus on the rooms! The rooms all have a mini kitchen with microwave ovens and conventional stove-top stoves...Utensils and pot and pans---Big Woop! The curtains do block the sun out very well if you are working swings or midnight, and the AC works well too. The decor is a step up or two from motel 6, and the ceilings are high. I've stayed at the Homewood chain in various cities and am a big fan. The chain itself is great for extended stays, family vacations or even the overnight stay. I appreciate having the extra space when traveling for work and or with the family. The extra amenities are a plus when traveling on a budget. Free wifi, breakfast and parking! PLUS points! On a recent visit, this particular location wasn't very full. After checking in, we went to the room and found a moldy smell. Possibly coming from the carpets, but definitely the shower curtain in the bathroom. I went to talk to the staff at the front desk. Josh had checked me in earlier and was still there. He heard me out and immediately switched rooms taking note of the odor we discovered. For the trouble, he upgraded us to a larger suite. PLUS points! Good guy and very personable and helpful. Time to get some Hilton Honors points while on a quick trip to Phoenix. There's a glut of hotels to choose from in the Camelback area. They're all cheap in the summer so I chose the Homewood Suites because its always nice to have a big room. The location is easy to get to and a block off of Camelback Rd. Its close to shopping, plenty of restaurants and there's a good sports bar across the street. Its not the newest Homewood Suites. If I had to guess, its a late 90's or early 2000's build. Its good in regards to the rooms being huge and all multi room setups with living rooms and bedrooms. I don't think they have the "Studio Suite" that the new Homewood Suites have. The only bad side is the decor isn't newest even though its relevant and in good shape. There's a full kitchen with a stove, dishwasher and fridge. And they're still courteous enough to leave the bag of microwave popcorn. The linens are fresh and white although they have a non white comforter which shocks me in the hotel world. I think the comforter choice is a brand thing though. There were two flat screen TV's in the upper 20in size. I asked for a high floor away from elevator and was given a 1st floor next to housekeeping on my particular visit. That was disappointing especially since they acknowledged the disregard for my request when they checked me in. Somehow they did not have my Hilton number which was odd. They attributed the low floor to no having any top floor rooms available because of a new room they were installing. The one sad feature of the hotel was the gym. It had an elliptical and treadmill. The treadmill was out of order. There was a stack of weights too. It wasn't the best gym I've seen and pretty emblematic of 90's hotels. You'll find your average new Hampton Inn with a gym 3 or 4 times as large. Its a solid hotel, its affordable and as an extended stay format its a nice place to stay. Are there newer options available but if you need a good affordable Hilton Honors qualifying hotel on the Camelback Rd corridor this is as good as the next. read more

HORRIBLE. I was recently in Phoenix to help out with the CO VID Pandemic at a local hospital. I stayed at this hotel back in 2013 and it was fine. So the room was dirty. Walls had chips out of them where chair had bumped them and were just dirty. Table had crumbs stuck down in the grooves. Closet door broken. Room just run down, and sketchy. Then i opened the microwave to heat up a cup of water. There was old rice stuck to the plate in there! DISGUSTING. The front desk staff was rude, and I told her about this. She handed me one cleaning wipe out of pack. I had to ask her for more. I asked if pool was open, I got "NO, we are working on it." Pool water looked greenish. It was frigging over 112 when i was there, and NO POOL? Geeze. I checked out and went down the street to Hampton Inn, which was GREAT. Great, affordable option for week long travel. No restaurant but they serve breakfast & dinner, which is included in lodging costs. Comes complete with kitchenette, dishes, silverware, coffee pot, tea bags, pots, pans & refrigerator. A standard room also has 2 tv's (one in living room & one in bedroom), sofa bed, 2 seater table (for dining or working), full size bathroom & toilet, multiple closet space, extra towels, a pillow & a blanket. This location was recently remodeled/updated so it's more aesthetically appealing now. It has a pool with a bbq grill & outdoir bathrooms. It has a small basketball court & a room with a few exercise machines. It also has laundry facilities but I suggest purchasing laundry supplies at one of the nearby markets. It does have a gift shop where supplies are sold but it is moderately priced. It is centrally located & near a bunch of stores, restaurants & bars. read more

So let me take back what I stated about Benjamin. I check my bank account again and see that the comp'd nights he initially said he would provide for my time and trouble were still posted to my account. I call the hotel to inquire. The first person I speak with asks as if I'm speaking some weird Martian language because I tell her that charges posted to my account that I have documented proof of from Benjamin that they would not be charged to my account. How do I know this to be true: 1. Benjamin said "You don't owe ANYTHING" when I asked "how much do I owe you if I just want to check out today." Again, he said Ya don't owe squat. 2. When I go to the front desk to get a final folio verifying this, it has the basics of accounting to reflect that this money will, in fact, be credited back to my account. It says in the ledger line (215.00) and (73.00). Parenthetically speaking, this is a credit. Yes folks, I've been an adult for quite some time now and TYPICALLY, when you see this in a statement, it means its been comp'd or remove from the list of charges. Also, the balances on the items were -215.00 and -73.00...again. How could I owe NEGATIVE -215 and -73? I couldn't...mathematically, FN, impossible. IT means that I am to receive a what...THAT'S RIGHT, Credit. Oh no, no according to Benjamin today. He tells me "that's right, your card was charged for those amounts." Um no... I say "you told me that because of all the trouble I encountered, you would comp the days I stayed." He LIES and says... NO, I told you that you didn't have to pay the early checkout fee. WTHell is an early checkout fee? Are you kidding me. I yell over the phone. He stoically insists that he said checkout fee and nothing more. I remind him of what the receipt states and that I would be putting in a dispute with my bank and that the good people there will see that you are lying and that you owe me the money you said. Before hanging up say "I want you to lie to me in my face" And invoking the spirit of Robert Deniro in "Casino" when he was on the phone with Ginger, I say: "I'm coming down there". *Click* One minute goes by... he calls back. I answer the phone thinking like this Mother'f'er has some serious nerve to call me back after my termination of his falsehoods. He says "Mrs. Griffin, this is Benjamin, I spoke with my General Manager and she said she will credit the account back." I say "thank you" and remind him that "I'm still coming there to get proof." So I go and pick up the new folio that is supposed to be VERY different from the first. It looks dang near the same. (215) & -215. I go... wow, so you called me back like you were doing a favor. You know it is accounting basics that anything with a negative sign listed as the balance owed means you owe me money back. He just said, "yes, your card was charged but my manager said she would credit you." At this point I realize I am arguing with someone without cerebral weaponry. NEVER STAY HERE. read more

Good price at $80/night with AAA discount and the 1 bedroom suite was great. I like how all the rooms were connected and not spread out across different buildings. Especially since it is summertime and is quite hot outside. It was nice having two TV's in the room too. Breakfast was great with all the usual eggs and sausages; and they even have a light evening dinner Mon-Thursday ( but we did not try it). I like the cold juice/water in the lobby during the day/night especially since I visited during summertime. Location is great too near the biltmore district. Across the street is a Trader Joe an Whole Foods grocery store so it is very convenient to grab a few groceries. My only gripe is the wifi signal was a bit weak. The area was very quiet at night too. Nice accommodations but meh breakfast. The room was fairly nice (we split a suite) and I really liked all of the neutrogena products. The breakfast seemed like they were trying to be fancier with hash browns with those red peppers, etc. and nicer quality/style food items, however many of them were burnt and overcooked. I had a much nicer breakfast at a comparably priced place in Flagstaff. They didn't try to make their breakfasts fancy but everything was cooked correctly which I'd prefer.
