Comfortable place to call home for a few weeks. I had the privilege to book with Maria directly. One bedroom suite with great separation from the bedroom, living-room, and kitchen. Maria listen to my needs and delivered with a first floor clean room. She was present in the lobby each morning with a smile on her face with great energy. Maria! Had been warmed welcoming during our stay. She was always visible and instrumental in making out stay great! She truly works hard to make her guests happy. She was even working a Sunday! It's great to have someone now a days that truly cares for her guests and hotel. The hotel is basic clean but the hotel does an amazing coffee and breakfast routine each morning. The hotel is very dog friendly with areas outside. Clean hotel, good food selections, and the lobby is so pretty! Thank you HWS- Biltmore (Maria) for making our stay!

Walked in and the room smelled "funky" - it wasn't until I went to the "kitchen" area and opened the dish washer to discover the dishes were dirty and a huge burst of odor filled the room. As seen in the picture, there was a small cockroach inside the dishwasher. We did not plan on utilizing any of the amenities in that room, but they should pay more attention to sanitizing and cleaning that thoroughly for those guests who do. I mentioned it to the employee downstairs and they offered a bottle of "disinfectant." I expected to be offered to be moved to a different room. Also, went outside late at night and even with my key card o couldn't get back in the building for many minutes even after I rang the door bell. I don't believe I would stay here again.

I love the setup at Homewood Suites, it's more like a mini apartment than a hotel room. The rooms have an "at home" feel with a small kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and separate living area. The #1 selling point of this place for me is their individual a/c units. You can get the room Arctic cool even in the heat of Arizona summers! There are NO regulators on the a/c units which means you can be COOL COOL COOL. That is the reason for the 4 star rating from me. The rooms themselves are nothing great -- the layout is SUPERB but wow, are they starting to show their age! Moldy spots and rust stains in the showers, ripped and soiled carpet, dirty walls....it's not that pleasant of a place to stay. This location is in dire need of a renovation.

Hubby and I did a quick overnighter while moving our child out of his college dorm for the summer. I love the location of this hotel because it's centrally located. Colleges, mall, mini-golf... etc... seems to be 10 drive from this hotel! There is a Whole Foods shopping center directly across the street so you are within walking distance from a quick grocery run if you need it. There's also a Twin Peaks (sports bar/restaurant) in that same shopping center. The staff was available if needed and friendly. The rooms are decent sized. We stayed in a 1 bedroom King Suite. It's like a one bedroom apartment. The couch in the "living room" has a full/queen sized hide-a-bed that fit our college and high school kid. It has a full sized kitchen with all the cooking utensils. There was a flat screen in the living area and bedroom. AC worked perfectly. We had a view of the pool - which by the way seemed a bit small for the scale of the hotel, but I don't swim so this was no biggie for me. There's free wifi and parking. What I loved most is that the room was incredibly clean and well kept. The decor was up to date. It had a high end feel to it without the high end price tag. I don't really do breakfast, but I did eat it here and it was great for me. Some kind of enchilada egg casserole type meal with sausages They had a variety of breads - from muffins to plain sliced. There was a make it your self waffle bar, hot and cold cereals, plenty of drink choices. The breakfast staff was on hand to help out with any requests and to clear off tables. In comparison to a couple of the other hotels we stayed at in this specific area, Courtyard Phoenix Camelback and Biltmore Embassy Suites, I definitely will 100% choose Homewood Suites for my next stay. Like I said, it's centrally located from everything I need to get done while I visit Phoenix, staff is friendly, very clean room and price point is surprising low.

Never Again!!!!! I checked in late after a long day of travel and could not wait to go to bed. I was aroused a some ridiculous early hour to the sound of a dumpster being emptied. Literally it sounded as if it was in my room. The next wake up was from kids playing at a school or day care before 7:00 am. Now lets get to the real issue. I wake up and when I see the bed sheets in daylight there are blood stains on them!! Yes I said blood! I was entirely freaked out and all I could think was get a shower and get out. That was when the ugliness of the mildew in the shower revealed itself. Big black gobs of mildew growing around the soap dish. I checked out voicing my shock and disappointment. The attendant working the counter offered a credit of points or a refund. This may have meant something had she followed thru. This was more like a $50.00 room not a $200.00 room! Take a look at the pictures.

Maydeline at the Spa was very helpful and very in touch with guest needs. One step ahead everytime. Colin really saved the day with making sure we had everything we needed. Brennan was also really helpful at breakfast and bringing us water all the way to the retreat pool. There was a minor hiccup with requesting ice while we were there but they did take care of it and apologized the next day for it not being done promptly, the acknowledgement was great and it really was such a minor thing. They have lots of activities everyday that are included and they also have experiences you can pay for.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

I ordered 2 food items and pre paid for 3 beers the bill came out to $52.18 I didn't think much of it and even tipped 25% After I finished my third beer. I decided to order a cookie with ice cream and an old fashioned to take up to my room. Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. Dining: TAQUERIA CENTRO -- 10 out of 10. The food and service were both exceptional. Manager Carlos did an outstanding job and was a true highlight of our stay. Prado -- 4 out of 10. We visited Prado twice during our stay. Our first visit was for breakfast -- the food was okay but noticeably overpriced for what was offered. Our second visit was a far worse experience. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without our server ever acknowledging us, so we got up and left. The service at this restaurant was consistently poor and the pricing did not reflect the quality or experience provided. Dining Options -- Room for Improvement. For a resort of this size and reputation, the dining options felt limited. We would strongly recommend adding at least one additional restaurant to give guests more variety. The snack and coffee shop, which could help fill that gap, closed far too early in the evening. Extending those hours would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience, particularly for those who want a light bite or a cup of coffee later in the day. The Room -- 6 out of 10. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues that fell well below the standard I would expect from a resort of this caliber. The bed was old and noticeably worn down, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. To make matters worse, the comforter on the bed was torn and had visible holes in it -- something that should never make it into a guest room. We also struggled with the room temperature throughout the night and were unable to get it to cool down comfortably. A Bright Spot at Checkout: I spoke with Avery Williams, Director of Front Office, at checkout and she was genuinely outstanding. She was sincerely concerned about the issues we experienced and did everything she could to address them. She even followed up with an email after our departure, which was a very nice touch. Overall, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the reputation of this resort. With a few improvements -- additional dining options, extended snack shop hours, updated room bedding and linens, and better temperature control -- along with a serious look at the service standards at Prado, this could easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10 experience.
