This hotel is really cool. The rooms are clean and look very welcoming. People there are also very nice. My grandma likes it there. Everything works and nothing at this place is broken. The only downside is that the koi pond has no fish and there's hardly any water and there's a stain on a couch in my grandmas room. read more

We have stayed at this Embassy Suites Biltmore for many years & recommend to friends. The hotel use to have a beautiful lush green interior but today it is rock & desert Plants & very uninviting. The rooms are very tired. We requested a handicap room for my husband but the first room had a tub so moved rooms to a walk-in shower. We discovered the tv in front room didn't work, the lights on the right bed stand didn't work, the shower curtain was too short so when my husband showered, the bathroom floor flooded!! And bed linen are so worn & not fresh as other hotels. Ridiculous!! The main reason we stay at Embassy is for the separate bedroom & living room. I tried to call the restaurant to Order food but their phone NOT working! The best thing about the hotel IS breakfast & apologetic & nice staff!! This is prime property & such a shame to see a hotel like this so uncared for.!!!! read more

The hotel is old! It was great that they offer made to order omelets for breakfast. The rest of the breakfast items weren't great except the bananas which disappeared in minutes. It was also nice that they offered appetizers (chips and salsa) and drinks (house wine and coors light) during dinner. Most hotels don't offer anything so it was a real perk. I had a great stay at this Embassy Suites in the Biltmore area. The location is excellent--close to plenty of restaurants and shopping, and easy to get around. Mobile check-in was smooth and convenient, and I liked that I could choose my room ahead of time. The hotel has been recently renovated; I'm not sure what it looked like before, but it definitely feels fresh, modern, and even a bit nicer than many other Embassy Suites I've stayed at. Breakfast is set up differently here compared to the usual Embassy Suites buffet. Instead, they offer a breakfast bar with made-to-order items. The evening manager's reception was also great, offering two complimentary drinks and some light snacks. My room was spacious and faced the pool area. The bed and pillows are extremely soft--perfect if that's your preference (it is not mine, too soft). There are two TVs, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. The TV guide feels pretty outdated, but honestly still better than the newer Hilton interface I'm not a fan of. The room also had a wet bar, a vanity area in the bedroom, and even two ceiling fans, which was a nice touch. I did experience sporadic hot water issues in the shower--sometimes it was warm at best, and other times it was perfectly normal. The fitness center is on the smaller side for a hotel of this size, but there's a Lifetime Fitness right across the street if you need a more complete gym. One small inconvenience is the desk placement: it sits on the same wall as the TV, so you can't really watch it while working. A swiveling wall mount would solve that easily. Overall, despite a few minor quirks, this will definitely be my go-to spot whenever I return to Phoenix. read more

Got here late after going to a nearby festival. At first I was like this is nice! Nice little area with palm trees and cabanas in the middle of the hotel, nice pool area, the standard glass elevators of the Embassy. Then we got to our room we couldn't open the door. We thought our key wasn't working so we go down to the front desk to get our key fixed and the guy's like how hard did you push on the door? and I'm like we pushed on the door.. He went up with us and ended up needing to actually kick the door open, we probably should've asked for a different room at that point but whatever. Every time we came in and out of the room we had to kick the door open a wrench on it from the inside to get put. I almost couldn't get out in the morning. The bathroom was OK but there was a corner that had a big molding spot you could tell the wood was like rotting out, I took a picture of that for reference. The room itself was very large but the living room part felt uncomfortable because even with the curtains fully clothed you could see people walking by bc there was a big gap. Because it was like nine or 10 at night we ended up just eating at the restaurant they had in the hotel we wanted to eat and there was kind of a lot of people at the bar so we sat at a table. It wasn't super busy the bar was small but the waitress blatantly ignored us at our table she did fix an issue with the food that was my error not her so I did appreciate that but she didn't check on us once wouldn't even bring the bill I had to go to the bar to get the bill. The breakfast however was over the top, best hotel breakfast. Fresh food, many options and friendly workers. I loved that part. If it wasn't for that I might've given two stars. It wasn't the worst place I've ever stayed I didn't see any bugs or anything at least but it was very low in for an embassy suite . read more

The lobby was updated but the finishes feel cheap and low budget. The renovation was solely for the lobby and in my opinion it should have started with the rooms. As you can see in the photos rusty shower heads, leaky ceilings, and worn bath tub. When I got a there there was a dirty towel hanging from the shower rod. Lastly there was a leak that dripped directly onto my makeup all over the counter. The front desk person was kind enough to give me Hilton honors points as an apology. That said I'm sure there have to be nicer places to stay in Phoenix, right? read more

Not the fanciest hotel but also not the worst. I was here for a conference over the weekend. The rooms were spacious and the staff were pleasant. The room was a bit outdated and the bed was not very comfortable. I woke up in the middle of the night because my back was killing me. No temp issues in my room, but the conference rooms and the rest of the hotel was pretty warm. The breakfast was pretty good. I ordered a pretty good omelet my last day there. Tables were a little hard to come by. I was exhausted so I didn't take advantage of the reception or the bar or the pool, but all these areas looked nice. Overall the hotel did look a bit dated and some of the plugs in my room did not work. The shower also had someone else's hair in it which was gross. Tv reception was in and out. So again not the best hotel but not the worst. Would not have picked it if I wasn't there for a conference. read more

What a disappointment. This place is literally a dump. I usually stay at the other one on Thomas Rd which is so much nicer for nearly the same rate. Why go cheap? This was, without question, the worst Hilton experience I've ever had and I've stayed at hundreds of Hilton properties, including dozens of Embassy Suites. I arrived right around the official check-in time (4 PM), only to be told my room wouldn't be ready for another hour. As a Diamond member, that's already unacceptable check-in time should mean the room is ready, not "come back later." That set the tone for the rest of the stay. The room keys barely worked and had to be reactivated multiple times. Annoying, but manageable. What wasn't manageable was the breakfast situation. Embassy Suites is known for their cooked-to-order breakfast, but here it was completely dysfunctional. They were severely understaffed, and it took 30-40 minutes just to get food. I've stayed at dozens of these hotels and have never experienced anything remotely this slow. Then came the worst part. During one of my showers, the water turned into a yellowish, murky stream. I don't know if it was rust, contamination, or something worse, but it was absolutely disgusting. I was already in the shower when it happened and had no choice but to rinse off in what looked like dirty water. When I reported it, the response was a half-hearted apology with zero urgency or concern. Completely unacceptable. For context, I paid around $400 per night for five nights during spring break. At that price point, basic cleanliness and functioning facilities should be a given not a gamble. To make matters worse, the property itself feels run down. The room was in poor condition, and even the bathroom door didn't lock properly. This hotel operates like it simply doesn't care. Between the delayed check-in, broken systems, terrible service, and unsanitary water, this was beyond disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property to stay elsewhere. I would NOT recommend this hotel!! It does not hold up to the Hilton/Embassy Suites standards. We checked into a room and the AC was broken. long story short... after 4 phone calls down to the front desk and 4 hrs later, we were told the hotel was booked and and were offered a box fan. They expected us to sleep in a room that was 76 degrees and humid. The front desk attendant Alizey was rude, and had a disgusting attitude. She told me the hotel had been booked for a week which was untrue as we and family friends had just booked had just booked the hotel the night before. As I was at the desk talking to them in person, I watched them check in 5-6 parties. Ultimately, I went online and booked a hotel across the street and we left this hotel. I was told by Alizey that they would refund me 100 percent but I am still working on that part. read more

I'm really shocked at all the low reviews because I really enjoyed my stay here. I had an impromptu work trip and was put up here. The lobby was really cool and the fish pond was a nice touch. My room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was included and had made to order omelettes as well as already cooked breakfast items. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Personnel were overall all friendly and professional The lobby looks like it's in the middle of someone trying to decide if they're going to finish it or not. Usually the lobby here was lush. Now it's kind of concrete and barren and cold, looking, which, for this area is a surprise. The location is good has a lot of restaurants, shopping, and places of interest around it. The room has terrible lighting, though a little one and can use an update, but our room is clean Now one of the reasons a lot of people stay at the Embassy Suites myself included is for the value of having a two room suite, manager's reception and a Cooked- to -order breakfast for my husband and I, these are some of the reasons that we stay at this hotel and embassies around the United States. We like the ability of having a cooker board of breakfast and to start our trips in a relaxing way. We like the idea of a small mini fridge to keep fruit and beverages to take with us on our daily outing. Our stay at this Embassy Suites encountered the breakfast area. Fully packed and tables were sitting for long periods of time without being cleaned up. They appeared to be one loan man who appeared occasionally cleared a couple tables and then left. I had the feeling he was doing double duty with something else. They actually cleaned up faster at the end of the buffet with one woman and she got it done in spic and span in a short period of time. Maybe that's something to look at. It's kind of gross when there's napkins and food and dirty dishes laying around everywhere and you have to eat in a certain area. There was only one person cooking the major to order breakfast . Even though it wasn't as crowded as I've seen before, there was still quite a long wait to be able to get up and even order your food. The food that was available to serve yourself did not appear to be kept as hot as it should be . Also, the items were very limited. It's a shame because the area looks out over the pool, which look like it was kept up pretty nice and had some beautiful umbrellas all around the pool for shade, which was needed in the Phoenix heat. The manager's reception the bartenders were amazing even though we've had just one simple drink. It's just the idea that it's another way to relax in the middle of the day before going out for the evening. The food for the manager's reception was tucked away in a corner and it had some sliced carrots some chips , some type of salsa or sauce, and maybe one other thing not too impressive and there was never enough plates and the serving utensils tended to disappear to. We didn't eat anything because of this and has seen people try to scoop things themselves with silverware they were already using. I hope they get this place back up to speed, fix up the lobby and increase the staff to make sure that the overall experience improves read more

Hard PASS on the Biltmore Embassy Suites, Phoenix. $340 a night, one would expect a high caliber hotel...but not in this case! If I could do a negative number I would. I stayed January 15 - January 20. Long enough to get a great snap-shot of the hotel and its operations/ infrastructure. Front desk and staff were nice and helpful. But the overall experience was less than ideal. I was part of a group of about 60+ families (hockey tournament) and more than half of us had to deal with a/some negative experience(s); no hot water, no water pressure, fixing unflushable or running toilets themselves, didn't receive the number of beds they reserved, doorknobs falling off, room entry issues, dirty rooms, no towels - but that is there story to tell. Concerns: Doors leading to the outside were not locked, or have a secure entry - you didn't need your key card to access the building. Basically, anyone could walk in off the street. I don't recall seeing emergency information posted by the door or on the door - but I could be mistaken. I will need to check pictures to confirm. I also dealt with low water pressure, no hot water, toilet was either slow to flush OR would fill to the rim before flushing, bathroom faucet wouldn't turn off (constant drip) and the handles would turn almost all the way around. A plumbing access panel was by the bed so it was ongoing bathroom nosies and running water sounds. Plus, the plumbing access panel had gaps around it (a direct cut into the drywall). A little caulk .... or a real access door might help with muffling the noise and potential bug entry. I did have a sitting area and a little fridge, which was nice. But I would trade that in for a hot shower AND a secure building entry. Upon check- in, I told the front desk I may check-out a day early depending on my schedule and was assured it was not an issue. I had the same conversation with two other front desk employees and was told that even though my reservation was through my credit card company (a 3rd party), it wouldn't be an issue to receive a refund for one day. All I needed to do was to call my credit card company after check-out and they would call the hotel to confirm. Well, I did all that and Embassy Biltmore denied my refund - I did purchase travel insurance through my credit card. Hmmmmm.... makes me wonder if I was denied because I was part of the group that complained about hotel accommodations. I need to, and will, do a little more digging on why I wasn't issued a refund. So, besides a crappy stay, the refund refusal just added insult to injury. All I can do is shake my head. Especially when I think of how much money they charge a night and how much they made of the huge group I was traveling with (60+ rooms for a minimum of 4 nights). For $340 a night (I was charged for 5 night stay)...I suggest you pass. Try the Drury instead. I think last year we paid $140 a night. read more

It took me 3 days and 15 calls to get the credit card authorization form successfully. I kept getting a form that expires after a few hours so I was never able to get it completed. Very frustrating. Dangerous & Deceived!  Hiltons Fraudulent Practices is the Normal of the Industry and as Consumers we must demand change or find alternatives accommodations.  An "Under Construction" in Red should be clearly visible on all traveling reservation sites, with a major reduction in price of rooms and no parking fees, otherwise they are clearly trying to deceive us into staying without choices.  If your room is  already paid and unable to pay for a last minute room else where.  After three stays at this location in two years, I will never return again. Wonderfully located next to Biltmore Fashion Center with Incredible and Awesome Restaurants and Shops in walking distance and a Golf Course on the Other side.  What a Great Location, only to fall apart before my eyes.  They say its remodeling, but I don't see the improvements in two years.  Only Bigger Messes and less Staff! I was so excited to return for my August 30, 2024, three-day getaway stay and to meet my new Grandchildren but was saddened when I arrived to see the Embassy Suites in its current condition.  I would have never stayed there knowing my Newborn Babies were coming into this giant dust bowl.  Dust everywhere, everywhere.  Thick on top of plants and trees and dying.  No warning, No we are sorry, or we have reduced your rate because of our remodeling inconvenience during your important stay.  No waiving of Parking fees.  Hilton and so many other similar companies are saying Up Yours and You'll Take It!  We must show them our dollars count and we aren't going to take it anymore.  I am not a demanding person, and I believe in paying for my services and always make sure to tip anytime needed.  I signed up for Hilton Member and have gotten great deals when staying at hotels with my Partner and Children.  That rate also locks you into your stay, even though they have other options for cancelation at a high room rate.  This is a game.  I didn't have an option at the time to move to another hotel and stayed because our first visitor was on their way and made the best of it.  I was so embarrassed every time our guests would arrive after so much previous bragging of the Atrium and Fish, Not a Jackhammer. I was concern about the many kids running around.  Would they go into the construction area with minimal blocking or even climb the extremely tall scaffolding?  Instead what I saw were adults walking through the construction zone as a shortcut.  They refused to walk around, and instead walked through this dangerous area and even holding onto the scaffolding like a handrail.  Incredible!  Staying at Many hotels, I've seen plenty of out-of-control drunk people, and this place would a jungle gym for drunk college students with total access at all floor levels. And finally, my Mattress for three days was miserable and same bed I slept in last visit, so don't understand what happen to my bed, LoL! Hilton and Embassy Suites, Shame on You and the Other similar Companies for No Notifications or Offers to adjust our bills while staying at your hotel.  You shouldn't wait for someone to complaint, Adjustments should be done upfront at Check-in with Notification in Advance or Site Banner stating "Under Construction".  Instead, we know you are all about all mighty profit, instead of the guest.    I want the Staff (Ever Changing) in the past two years to know, You Were the Best and Appreciated.  Special Shout out to Lupita the Bartender who was there every time we were there and was very kind, especially during such difficult and demanding guests. We held a conference for work there. There was an issue with one of the rooms we were using, and the team did everything they could to mitigate. When the issue couldn't be fixed, they let us move the room at no extra charge. The rooms were great and the beds super comfortable. Gloria, the head of food and beverage gave me her cell number to contact her directly with any needs we had, and Isaiah (sp?) was on top of everything! Sarah, our bartender during one meal, and Tim, A server even got in on the fun dancing along to our karaoke performances! Thank you all! read more

A very sad, frustrating and tiresome stay. Once upon a time, apparently in the too distant past, Hilton was a brand of quality. Unfortunately, it has become a brand of indifference lacking integrity, transparency, accountability or any attempt at excellence. This particular hotel had some good employees on site. Front desk was good. Bartender was helpful. I don't want to overlook the people who tried Problems with the room. Call front desk from room. No answer x 8. Frustrated Open Hilton Honors App ( gross misnomer). Contact clicked. Goes to a +43 phone number (Austria). Great! I speak well in German. Call answered somewhere in Delhi. Crap call center. You know the kind? A call center you'd expect if you had a defective item at the 99 cent store and called. But, the wait at Hilton is longer. Manager supposed to contact me in person tomorrow. Great! Am I to wait in room? Forget my schedule....waiting for the manager to show up. Perhaps I'll get lucky and manager will wake me up early morning. Golly gee! So many things wrong that I'm going to skip my holiday and write about the Hilton disappointment promise. Non stop. I'm that upset! Hotel company from Hell. Nice local staff. This is generally a nice hotel. My only complaint is you must be content with the room temperature being 75 degrees, which wasn't very comfortable for me (and contributed to my lack of sleep). I even called to inquire about this (whether the room temperature could be adjusted to drop below 75 degrees) and the guy was nice and honest and said it wouldn't drop below that. So, if you like things a bit warmer, this is the place for you - if not, uh - I'd keep shopping... read more

I really hope if you're considering to stay at this place, you read this review. The only nice thing about this hotel is the lobby. Everything else is horrible. The room is dirty & they have COCKROACHES. As if that isn't bad enough, I requested my room to be cleaned. I return to my room at 10 PM, to see that it was not cleaned. I call the front (was put on hold forever & had to call 3 times to get through) stating I need towels asap & that my room was never cleaned. Daniel was absolutely terrible. Rude, disrespectful & not accommodating. Daniel told me it would take 1-2 hours to get the towels that should have been there when my room was cleaned. So at 10 PM with my 2 kids, I'm towel-less. I even said I could come down to get them, which he refused. I could not believe that Daniel was so unapologetic & rude. For the amount of money you pay to stay here, you would expect some decent customer service. I would truly avoid this place at all costs. read more

I see why this hotel has such low reviews. The inside is nice, and has very a pretty water feature with koi, beautiful murals, updated rooms. The breakfast is a better than average Embassy Suites buffet including some terrific salsa. Where it goes south for us was the front desk that didn't check in our Hilton honors status or offer us our free water bottles, nor were we told we had to call and ask for housekeeping. Then I found hairs and hair balls all over the room, then the shower would not stop running, then the room temperature only offers heat or nothing. I informed the front desk of all and asked for the bed to be remade with fresh sheets -it was only remade. Shower was not fixed. This was a heavy leak not a drip. We were informed the only way to fix the heavy stuffy air was to turn on off the hvac, and open the back slider. Not exactly a safety wise decision. I was offered to change my room as a solution but did not prefer to repack and move all of my belongings preferring to spend my time on vacation not work. For some truly stupid reason there is not happy hour on Sundays. Very disappointing. I went to the desk to ask about it and was told none on Sunday. They don't sell snacks just sandwiches and sodas. The rooms in this hotel are in very poor condition with lots of deferred maintenance. The shower did not drain, the mattress was so old that it was concave, the television did not to work, the bathtub was cracked, and the list goes on and on. The morning buffet did not have a omelette station like the other Embassy Suites, and the food at the buffet was cold both mornings. I am shocked that Hilton would lend their name to this hotel because it is a bad mark on the Hilton Name. I would advise others to avoid this hotel, because there are many others in the area to choose from. read more

Worst stay ever.... This place was filthy. Checked in late, when we went in the room, the pull out bed had dirty linens, half eaten bag of chips, a phone cord and a written note in the sheets. There was a small amount of food on the floor and counter. The kitchen drawers were filthy. Place just wasn't wiped down or clean at all... Next morning I spoke with the front desk. The Manager said they would investigate who cleaned the room and touch up the room. 3 days later nothing, we left 1 day early. Paid day... will never stay at this chain again. Also the door didn't close properly, felt like someone could jimmy the lock Broken switches, loose wall plugs that wouldn't hold a charger, filthy and just a big disappointment. Please scan your room before closing the door to ensure safety. My frequent stay at the Embassy had many major red flags. I stayed at here many times for business travel. This was the first time where I questioned my safety and the customer service. Upon checking into room 537, I noticed the closet door was wide opened. I left my luggage by the door to inspect the room. The trash can had used napkins. The toilet had urine. The bathroom sink had a towel draped over the counter and an opened bar soap. The bed had a body print on top. Clearly, someone was in my room. I immediately went to the front desk with my discoveries. The staff didn't seem too concern with my room being access by someone else and just provided me a new room. By late night, I realized the microwave in room 547 did not turn on. I reached out to the staff about the microwave issue and if there was a microwave in the common area for me to use. He just told me no. He didn't offer any solutions or apologies for the inconvenience - just a simple "no". When I checked out in the morning, I realized the dead bolt was stuck in the door. It actually didn't work when I turned the knob. I am a female traveler. This raised a lot of concerns for my safety with having my previous room being access by someone else and the current room with the dead bolt not working. This was a flawless hotel experience, from the room quality to the hotel ambiance, from the front desk reception to the room service. I felt like a VIP, experiencing warm hospitality and exceptional customer service. Before checking in, I received a text message from the front desk inquiring if there were any additional requests or preferences. When I mentioned that it was our anniversary celebration, they expressed genuine enthusiasm and well wishes. Upon arriving at the hotel, the grand entrance canopy provided ample shade from the sun and protection from the elements. The parking lot had plenty of spaces, and overnight parking was complimentary, while there was a charge of $14 for valet parking. Stepping into the building felt like entering a cruise ship's lobby, with a spacious front desk area, comfortable waiting seats, refreshing orange-infused ice water, and welcoming staff members named Clare and Katy. They efficiently handled the check-in process, provided information about complimentary breakfast and evening socials, which included complimentary beverages and alcoholic drinks. The hotel's surroundings were magnificent, featuring beautiful ponds with vibrant koi fish. The front desk even provided small cups of fish food, allowing us to enjoy delightful moments interacting with the animals. The room layout was well-designed, especially the spacious living room, perfect for business travelers. The ample lighting and two large floor-to-ceiling windows provided abundant natural light. For privacy, the curtains could be drawn. The living room also had a convenient sink. Upon entering the living room, we were greeted with the hotel's gracious hospitality, as they had prepared a generous assortment of snacks and beverages. They even had a handwritten card to celebrate our anniversary, displaying their thoughtful service experience. My wife and I have many important dates throughout the year, and we often choose different hotels to stay on these occasions. So far, this has been the most welcoming and heartfelt experience we have encountered in 2023. I truly felt the hotel's genuine care and attention to their guests' needs. They truly prioritize and value your requests. The room boasted a great view, allowing us to see the pool below. While observing the pool, I also noticed a thoughtful ramp for disabled individuals to enter the water. The bed quality was excellent, and the pillows and blankets were comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. There were numerous outlets in the room, and the Wi-Fi speed was fast. I was particularly pleased when I requested additional towels, as they promptly took note of my request. As my wife and I wandered around the hotel, every staff member we encountered wore a smile and exuded warmth. They happily greeted me and made me feel at home. Their smiles were genuine and heartfelt, not the forced smiles you often encounter in commercial service. It was evident that they enjoyed and appreciated their work, which was truly remarkable and reflected excellent management and care for their employees. Overall, my stay was exceptionally enjoyable and perfect, from the reservation process to check-out. When we were planning a trip to Phoenix our friend John recommended this Embassy Suites hotel as he had stayed there before. So he made a reservation for him and his wife and me and my wife. First of all it's in a great location! Right next to the Biltmore Estates and easy access to everything all around it. It's a very nice area of Phoenix and since we have a Tesla we were very pleased that there was a Tesla supercharger in walking distance across the way. When we walked in the staff was very cheerful and greeted us happily. The front desk staff couldn't have been better. Everyone we interacted with was very pleasant, with the exception of the bartender who was impatient, ill tempered, and clearly wanted to be elsewhere. The room was clean, large, and like many other rooms in this chain. The shower was functional with good pressure and we enjoyed it. This place is clearly dated. Much of the carpet around the property is stained. We saw a few instances of black mold in our bathroom and there was a terrible smell emanating from the trashcan near the ice machine in the vending and laundry area on the second floor. For three days! On Monday morning that was finally remedied. But Friday, Saturday and Sunday it smelled so bad it was nearly impossible to get ice without retching. The front desk staff told us they will be remodeling the property soon, which is wonderful but not probably soon enough. The atrium is wonderful, the staff is kind and we look forward to returning once they get the place up to normal Hilton standards. read more

Room was ok but lighting in room was poor. Sunday buffet breakfast was a joke, one person working omelet bar with 25 min wait. Kept running out of food as no enforcement who could come and many people just showed up who weren't staying at the hotel and came for the free food. read more

Hilton Honors is a plus here. This is a refurbished hotel built in 1983 and shows it in places. My suite was spacious and mostly well maintained. I like the complimentary breakfast and cocktail hours. read more

I couldn't get a booking at the paradise valley location, so I settled for this one. Monumental mistake. The building is dated, and that's being kind. When I walked in the room after checking in, I kept trying to convince myself that my Aunt (who is being treated at Mayo Clinic) could make it through a three day stay. Then we saw the bathroom and the carpet. I was kind of stressed and panicked when I took these photo but I think they give you a general idea of why you should never stay here. The customer service is worse than the room! I was convinced I was going to get bed bugs if we stayed. I asked for a transfer (which I got for the other two nights via the wonderful host at the paradise valley location) but no dice on tonight even though I walked in, took photos and walked out! The money I lost is worth the priceless relief I feel. I would recommend sleeping in your car before you stay here. Pretty sure there are actual war zones with nicer hotel rooms than the embassy on camelback. read more

AVOID! The place may look good in photos, but it is shabby and rundown. On check-in, we found the television didn't work, the room phone didn't work, the shower drain got plugged up, and the shower leaked constantly. Maintenance was required to come fix the television and the shower. The hotels does not make up your room while you are there, not even every other day. You have to specifically request it and they have to schedule it. There is no laundry service; you have to do it yourself with a washer and dryer on the fourth floor. Not only that, there were elevators out of service that were not marked. Parking is $14 a day as well. This has to have been the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed at. read more

This used to be a premiere property in downtown Phoenix, but man, it wouldn't be a premiere property in a war zone. The carpets in my room were stained and smelly, the bed had minimal covering, no ruffle, just a bare box spring and a some very cheap sheets. Oh, and only two towels and a washcloth per room. Bring your own. The bathroom had mold above pictures, in the grout, around the door frame. The bath faucet leaked constantly. Paint was peeling off the ceiling. Then there's the furniture. The chairs provided were mismatched, and the seat covers were peeling, cracked and disgusting. An internet connection hangs from the ceiling near the front drapes. There's no USB ports. The phones didn't work and when they finally got to working, nobody in the staff picks them up anyway. There's $15/day charge for internet. $15/day for self parking in a giant lot. I think there's other charges as well. The "manager's reception" has the most vile bottom/under the shelf alcohol known to exist. Anything resembling a decent drink still costs ya. The front desk staff would be comfortable in a CIA black site waterboarding terrorists. There is a policy where you "must give 24 hours notice" if you want your room cleaned. We checked in at midnight (along with two persons of questionable occupation...) and weren't told this by the front desk person, so we didn't get service that day, and I didn't know this so when I was out all day with family I came back to a room the way I left it. Going down to the front desk, I was informed of the rule, and told that housekeeping had gone home for the day. I told them that I wanted the room cleaned for the next two days while I was there and I was "put on the list". The next day the same thing. I went down to complain and the nasty desk attendant that I had spoken to the day before picked up a piece of paper and said "huh. you're not on the list". She admitted that I had spoken to her the day before, but when I asked to see the manager she just went about checking other guests in. After 20 minutes I left for my room. It was never cleaned, and attempts to reach a manager in person or over the phone were thwarted. I finally gave up. This property doesn't care. There are youth hostels better than this in Mombasa. read more

This is probably the worst Embassy I have ever stayed at. First my room was not even really clean? From a dirty counter to a dirty toilet. Plus the room is so outdated from you pick the furnishings, curtains etc.... The bed had to be one of the cheapest mattresses I have slept in. The only plus were the pillows they actually were nice and firm and not those cheap feather ones which I hate. So that made the stay a little tolerable. The gym while clean was so small for the size of this hotel which makes no sense. In short this embassy maybe was great back in its day but spend some money and bring it back to its glory. read more

This hotel is in a great area directly across from restaurants and shops but unfortunately this hotel does not live up to the Hilton Brand. The hotel is extremely dated and and the carpet throughout makes it feel dirty. The breakfast was very average and the evening reception is limited to two drink coupons per night. If you do not use them on night they DO NOT rollover to the next night. I found the staff to be friendly but this place needs an update in a bad way read more

The first night we noticed the sheets were not changed. They had no one on staff to change the sheets. I stated that I would change the sheets myself. They brought the wrong size. I had to go back out, get the correct size, and change them myself at 11:00 o'clock at night. The back door would not lock. The toilet would not stop running. I had to prop the valve up to stop it. No free wifi even if you are a Hilton member. Makes it nearly impossible to get a hold of the front desk. I purchased alcohol from their bar before the bartender shift ended and than I was told I couldn't drink by the pool. They kept changing the reasons but essentially they thought we brought our own alcohol. They said they were alerted by my ice chest, while simultaneously saying we were allowed to have coolers with water by the pool. She was unclear about where the hotel restaurant ended and the pool area began. Instead of asking us to move closer to the pool if the area was considered outside seating for the restaurant the manager said we needed to leave the area all together. She alternated from saying we didn't buy our beverages from the bar because it was closed to stating it was open all along even though no bar tender was in attendance. I had to pull out my receipt to get her to change her reasons for us leaving. The manager had a power trip with no attempt to be accommodating, understanding or helpful to solve the problem. She does not have an ounce of customer service in her body and should consider another career path. I do not remember staying at this resort. read more
