There was also no acknowledgement of Hilton Diamond status at check-in. Normally that's standard at most Hilton properties. The hotel itself feels very dated and clearly needs renovation. The staff also seemed confused and unprepared to handle basic requests. After I complained about the room, they moved me to the third floor. Unfortunately that room wasn't much better and was also in serious need of updating. Midway through my stay the manager texted asking how the stay was going on a scale of 1-5. I responded with a 2. She asked if she could call me between 1:00 and 5:00. The call never happened. Another odd thing: after every Hilton stay I typically receive an email asking me to review the property. I never received one for this stay. There are simply too many other hotel options in this area to justify staying at this Embassy Suites again. In its current condition it does not reflect what most people expect from the Embassy Suites brand.

The breakfast included with the accommodation is in a warmly decorated restaurant area served by highly professional and accommodating staff, offering help and filling and clearing items with quick precision. The made to order omelets were professionally made with fresh ingredients and the breakfast bar was likely one of the best stocked and well maintained I have experienced with fresh pastries and constantly refilled hot items. The included dinner was much appreciated after an early morning Grand Canyon hike and 5 hour drive back to Phoenix taking the scenic routes. Also watch out for the ugly, crotchety old man that lives on the 9th floor with aggressive dogs, don't know how that guy is even still alive with that stick so far up his @ss. Also the place itself is old, ugly, stinky, and the elevators are always broken (but jokes on you, you just have to sit there and wait for them to fix it or magically fly up to your condo since using the stairs is prohibited). They make these cool, inexpensive things called brooms, clippers & hedge trimmers. Breakfast- good, shower-clean, good, bed-good mattress, maybe too firm.
