WARNING: Sneaky "Bill Cramming" Tactics under "Free" Promotions!…read moreI am writing this review to warn my neighbors to inspect every single line item on their monthly statements. Spectrum is engaging in deceptive billing practices, specifically a tactic known as "bill cramming"--adding paid services to your account without your permission. A few months ago, I called to set up Internet and TV services. The sales representative told me I qualified for a promotion for a "free mobile service line for one year." I accepted the free line. What they CONVENIENTLY failed to mention, and what I never authorized or gave permission for, was that the agent snuck a paid monthly "Mobile Insurance/Device Protection Plan" onto that supposedly free account. Because I was told the mobile plan was 100% free, I didn't notice the hidden, unauthorized insurance surcharge for six months. When I finally caught the charge and called customer service to voice my concerns, things got even worse. Even after escalating the call to a supervisor, Spectrum flat-out refused to issue a full refund for the charges their own agent fraudulently placed on my account. They would only credit back a single month. Essentially, they got caught adding unauthorized fees to my bill and told me I could only have a fraction of my money back. Since Spectrum refuses to take accountability for their deceptive trade practices, I have officially filed formal corporate billing complaints with the FCC and my State Attorney General. If you are signing up for their "free" promotions, check your bill immediately. They will sneak unapproved charges onto your bank draft and then hide behind their "corporate policy" to keep your money when they get caught. Absolute scam behavior.

They will then sell you "Turbo" which makes NO difference in Wildwood and simply adds to your bill. *When the going gets tough they will tell you that a district manager will call you and take care of these issues, no one will call. *The runaround on 611 (the AT&T number) is second only to Comcast for America's WORST customer service and support. Really plan on having your time destroyed here, in fact I did over 4 hours this past week alone and no one could resolve the AT&T caused issues. *If you'd like to deal with individuals who won't acknowledge their own mistakes and have a masters degree in "Passingthe buck" this is your place. I've been with AT&T for over 30 years and the final insult to a stock holder is that I can go ahead and call their legacy line and try to get some consideration. Are you kidding me? Asti lasagna don't get any on ya.

He then said, "bye!" and literally turned around and walked off. We are long-time Verizon customers but are now looking for another provider. This lack of respect for customers is nonsense.

He was able to transfer my fathers phone, but the other two he needed to send to us via mail. He had us purchase the phones and the screen protectors. He then took our screen protectors and put them in his back pack until he received our phones. He charge us $80.00 ($40 each phone) to set-up our new phones. Two weeks later once he out our screen protectors on, he sent us our phone from his store in FL to our home in CA. He told us that we would need to take our new phones into a Verizon store and have them transfer our data. We in-fact went to a CA store and they said he should not have charged us that fee because they were the store that was actually going to set up our phones. So we paid Jay $80.00 to set up our phones and then paid the Verizon in CA $100 to really set up our phones. Additionally, the CA store said he did not use the correct SIM card, he used the 4G vs the one our phone calls for which is a 5G. Also he did not appropriately set up our new plans, the the Verizon store in CA fixed everything. I asked Jay to speak to the CA Verizon employee and he refused. Attached is the tact string. Do not use JAY SAMMY at this location. He was happy to take an additional $80 for setting up two phones that he did not set up. As you can see he said that is what he gets to provide service and find the right plan, of which, is his job, so he should not swindle people out of hard earned money from people on fixed budgets.
