I recently discovered this cute local theatre through a yelp giveaway for 2 tickets to this show. I came with my daughter. Parking was easy, big parking lot right next to the small local theatre. It was definitely a cozy feel inside. It was a small cute environment. It seemed like alot of people that were there go pretty often. I am glad and grateful I got to attend this show. It was about 2 hours long and the actors were great! Very impressed about being able to hold a British accent for so long! Lol The theatre had a bathroom and a small refreshment area. They had a good variety of local alcoholic beverages. They also had regular local crafted soda and seltzer. Definitely a fun activity to try out, I love plays and I'm always looking for somewhere that has them!

Bravo Contemporary Theater Company bravo!!! If you are looking for an intimate location to watch a bit of theater and for a standing ovation look no further than this location! I was fortunate to score a a pair of tickets for the opening weekend of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (thank you Yelp Elite Squad and CTC) and was thrilled with the performance with the comfy atmosphere of this treasure tucked away in Wakefield. To be honest have been to Wakefield handful of times and didn't even realize this was there to enjoy. Needless to say I will be back for future shows here as I expand my exploration into all Wakefield and RI has to offer! There is ample parking, be it street or the public lot adjacent to the venue. The small seating area puts you almost quite literally on the stage during the engagement without a bad seat in the house. The staff is very welcoming, plenty of drink items and quality snacks at the bar to enjoy prior or during intermission. While the CTC may be small in stature, they have a lot of heart and any show makes for a memorable evening to enjoy! For Miss Bennet in particular, don't miss it! Found myself laughing along with fellow audience members as we continued on with Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice journey. The cast does an amazing job conveying the blend of romance and humor via the strong woman at the center of this story. An added bonus was helping to decorate that infamous Christmas Tree during the intermission as well. One really feels they are part of the show here! Bravo CTC, to both cast and crew, bravo! Keep up the great work!!

What a great way to kick off the holiday season! We won tickets through Yelp to catch "Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley," a fun production with witty writing and very lovable characters. The performers were incredible on opening night, with each actor delivering humor and charisma every time. The space itself was very cozy, and the set design got us right into the Christmas mood and the world of the characters. Though this was quite the hike for us (coming from northern RI), it was such an honor to watch talented folks do their thing and celebrate the holiday season with them. 11/10 production, and I'd love to return for another show here at the Contemporary Theater Company - very welcoming staff, and the location is tucked into a cozy part of Wakefield with a true Hallmark vibe!

One show later and I now have season tickets for 2026 - it was that good! I won two ticket to see Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (thank you Yelp Elite and CTC). We purchased an additional ticket for my brother to also attend. Although I could afford to pay the $35 ticket, I think its incredible that they have tickets for cheaper if you can't afford it, but would still like to watch it. The show was for 7 pm, and we arrived around 6:38 to the spot, but didn't actually walk in until around 6:45 after we figured out the parking situation. They do have a small lot by the theater, but I also think they have public parking close by along with street parking. When we walked in, we went to claim our tickets which was a very easy process (I dont think they have a digital ticket option). They do have a little bar with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages (i.e., beer, cocktails, hot chocolate, soda, water). I wish they had snacks to munch on like popcorn or chips, but I do understand it can get messy. There are also two bathrooms, with about 2 stalls each. The theater is small and very intimate which I personally like, and a result, there is no "bad" seat. The show itself was very good, and so were the actors. I really felt like I traveled back in time with them. During the intermission, they let us help with decorating the tree on stage, and at the end of the show they selected one winner to get free tickets to a future show. I will obviously be back and look forward to it.

    Welcome to Pemberley!

If you're hunting for a theater experience that feels close & wonderfully alive, the Contemporary Theater Company in Wakefield is one of those "How did I not know this was here?!" discoveries. I love the Rhode Island theater scene but I'm embarrassed to say that I did not know about CTC. But after this experience, I can say with certainty: we'll be back! Before I even get to the performance, let me say this: the vibe here is cozy magic. The staff is genuinely welcoming, the bar has a fun assortment of local drinks (both boozy & non-alcoholic) & the space itself puts you so close to the action you feel woven right into the story - there is literally no such thing as a bad seat. Add in easy parking (street or the public lot right next door) & you have got yourself a stress-free night out! Thank you to Yelp Elite & CTC, we scored a pair of opening night tickets to Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. The cast delivers a charming, witty continuation of the Pride & Prejudice world that you can't help but smile your way through it. The humor lands, the romance blooms & the foursome (or is it 5-some?) of strong women give the whole story a spark that had the audience laughing (& maybe shed a tear or two) together throughout the night. Bravo to the cast, crew & everyone behind the scenes!!! If you weren't in the Christmas spirit, you are now! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

I came here for a show tonight that Yelp sent me too! I'm so thankful that I won tickets because the show was amazing! The theatre is small and quaint. They also have a small bar too. It's a great spot and we had a wonderful experience. Thanks again Yelp!

Came here for the first time for a yelp event and I had so much fun so we had to come back again!!! My husband has never had any interest in theater until he came here and now he actually wants to come back for more!!! Fun place to come and enjoy the amazing performances from the experienced performers! This is first come first serve seating but is accessible for everyone! We look forward to continuing to come here especially since American idol will be coming here soon! Come here and buy tickets for a future show and you won't be disappointed.

I went to this cinema over the weekend for the first time since college (so maybe 10-12 years?…read moreYikes!). We had the BEST experience. The cinema is small and intimate - which I love. I hate big theaters that seat close to 100 people. They have done some renovations. They now have the reclining leather seats and they have a tray for food that swings in front of you and it has a cup holder in it. The recline on the seats is perfect and they are so comfortable. The seats and theater is also very clean. The worker who we bought our tickets and concessions from was also very helpful. She pointed us towards a drink and popcorn combo that ended saving us money and getting us more popcorn and drink! I literally don't want to go to another theater besides this one - not interested! I do not live in the area, but I am more than willing to make the drive to experience this theater again!

It is so wonderful that Rhode Island still has some local cinemas, especially after the recent closure of Aquidneck Island's Island Cinemas, a perennial favorite night out locale. The All South County is in the same vein- friendly, neighborhood oriented service, comfy seats, and clean theaters. You gotta love supporting local, especially when choosing how to spend your precious nights out! The staff is what really makes this place special, though. Comprised mostly of URI students, they are friendly and eager to assist, answer questions, or offer recommendations for everything from popcorn mix ins to the movies themselves. That is really what will keep me coming back and recommending this special spot to everyone!

Support local RI small businesses! I was visiting Rhode Island from Maryland this weekend and found this local business. It was so refreshing to walk into a music store that reminded me of my local guitar shop from home! You can really feel the friendly local vibe resonate through the room, especially when there are customers playing a riff or two in the guitar section. I was helped by a lovely woman named Sandol while browsing, and she immediately knew what kind of guitar I wanted and led me right to it. I was impressed that the store had the 3/4 size Yamaha acoustic-electric I was searching for, and they even had it in three more different styles! It was so awesome finding the exact model I wanted with my wood color choice. Sandol was very knowledgeable and was able to refer some products that I have not tried with my guitars yet, like the unique - and more importantly, super affordable on my vacation budget - Dunlop Elastic Capo, & even threw in a guitar pick or two for my gig bag since I didn't bring any with me. 100% would reccomend.

It turned out to be the "new" owner, Larry. (New because he became the owner 10 years ago, and Luca Music has been around since I used to shop at Almacs... ) The building is the exactly the same as it was in the 80s and it's well kept, so for me it's like stepping back in time when I took music lessons here. Pretty fantastic to have something so well preserved for the next generation. I told Larry what I was looking for. He did a great job showing me my options and while he showed the the nicest version of what I was looking for, he in no way pressured me to spend extra. He got me just what I wanted and even made me a nice bundle offer that I am confident got me the best deal around. He even threw in extra after the sale. We did business and then he helped carry my purchase to the car. So while we tend to forget the Small Business so often in lieu of box stores and online shipping, there's something about the time and care and appreciation I felt today at Luca Music. I would not hesitate to return or recommend.
