I hate big theaters that seat close to 100 people. They have done some renovations. They now have the reclining leather seats and they have a tray for food that swings in front of you and it has a cup holder in it. The recline on the seats is perfect and they are so comfortable. The seats and theater is also very clean. The worker who we bought our tickets and concessions from was also very helpful. She pointed us towards a drink and popcorn combo that ended saving us money and getting us more popcorn and drink! I literally don't want to go to another theater besides this one - not interested! I do not live in the area, but I am more than willing to make the drive to experience this theater again!

When you're charging premium prices, the bare minimum should be a clean environment and decent service. Unfortunately, this location misses the mark on both! They must be understaffed too because they make you wait in a line out the door even if you have prepaid tickets. Some convenience (?!) fee you pay to have prepaid tickets.

Movies shown here are all classic and summer-centric; think: Jaws, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Footloose. Sound quality ain't the greatest, but that's besides the point. You're probably not here because you're expecting AMC/Cinemark quality. You're here because you're nostalgic. $10 per car, and you can get a season pass for $100. Load up the car and head on down for some a good, old-fashioned movie-going experience.

I believe some of the doors (there are a lot of doors) have the auto-open feature. Parking lot has a good amount of lights too. Lobby has been updated in the past few years with lots of food options, a bar area, an arcade area and a private room you can rent for birthday parties and the like. There are a few seating options in the lobby as well. In theater seats are assigned, so buy them in advance on-line to get your preferred seat. There is also a kiosk inside the back door you can use to buy tickets and there are customer service reps to buy them from a person. Both these on-site options also allow you to purchase for a future date/time if the on-line option isn't your comfort zone. Cinemas are located off long hallways left and right off the lobby with a large men's and ladies' room off each hallway. Although not remodeled, the restroom does look like it's had some aesthetic updates. Cinemas are wheelchair accessible with ramps on the lower level. Seats recline and have small tables for snacks you purchased and cup holders. Each level is high enough above the one in front that no one's head is in your way. The audio is *loud*. I wear ear plugs and it's still plenty loud. Some theaters offer 3D movies or advanced sound experiences. All movies now offer Closed captioning and descriptive services. See customer service for info on those. Movie tickets are pretty pricey, and it's nice that this cinema is updated to make the experience comfortable with big reclining seats and enjoyable with cinematic surround sound. Lots of base. Theaters, lobby and restrooms are kept clean. Snow was cleared from the lot and sidewalks and they were sanded. It's great they have food, popcorn, candy, soda and adult beverages available too if you really like to splurge on your night (or day) out.

The theatre we sat in had one big isle running up the middle, I prefer a seat directly in front of the screen so that wasn't even an option. There were two seat styles and the recliners looked a little rough so we sat in the very reclining theatre seats. The volume was a touch loud, but the picture was great. We saw "Touch" there, a beautiful film that takes place in London, Tokyo and Iceland. Unique, romantic and heartwarming. The Sag Harbor Cinema has an upstairs rooftop bar, plus snacks/merch for sale in the downstairs lobby. It's a nonprofit org with various community events as well. It's cinema houses like this, not art house - not just mainstream AMC megaplexes - Sag Harbor Cinema is the reason that I got into film in the first place. It reminds me of a Denver Colorado cinema where I went to see my first movie... "Who Framed Roger Rabbit." I'll never forget that. I've always looked for a similar feel and found it here.
