My travel buddy had a friend who actually lives in Quebec. She picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel. Along the way, she recommended a list of restaurants to eat at, one of them being Conti Caffe. Conti Caffe is located in Old Quebec and is apparently related to the famous Le Continental (ranked as #24 out of 1440 restaurants in Quebec City). According to their website, Conti Caffe markets themselves as "Italian Delights from Old Quebec". On the menu, they have appetizers, soups, main dishes (from grill to oven, from the sea, pastas and risottos), desserts, and wines (French, Italian, and American wines). My friend and I visited in February 2025. I tried the following: - Le Carosse Cocktail - Spiced Rum, Amarulla Cream, Lemon, Pumpkin Spice, and Pumpkin Pie Bitters - Osso Bucco - veal osso bucco (Milanese Style) served with butter fettuccini Loved my cocktail and Osso Bucco! My friend tried their Steak and Caesar Salad. Ambiance was dressy / trendy but was actually surprised since the restaurant name has "Caffe" in it, I was expecting the atmosphere / ambiance is be more casual. Overall Conclusion - I'm a fan!!

My husband and I are from the states and we ate here in for our anniversary in 2023. Loved it (& the city so much), we came back this year for our anniversary again. Absolutely nothing has changed! The food is some of the best I've ever eaten & the drinks are to die for! The Le Porier & Espresso Martini are the best you'll find anywhere. I literally cannot wait to come back here!

Interesting that Conti had 3.5 stars. We were wanting to try another restaurant and waited 30 minutes in line and it looked like another 30 minutes more so we bailed. It's Sunday afternoon about 1.30pm in Old Quebec. We ventured down the street and found Conti. Looked at the menu, good. Checked the tables, only half full. Nice white table clothes and glassware. Ordered a bloody Mary while we perused the menu. Decided to start with the asparagus soup and my wife had the Cesar salad. Very unique salad with lots of crumbly bacon. The soup was good and warming on a 48 degree day. For our main we went with the salmon that comes with saffron rice, diced carrots in a sauce (wished they were whole) asparagus (on the Petite side) . We split this entree and it was plenty for two...good size portions. Staff was nice and attentive. However, like most restaurants they're slow to bring the check. The food was delicious and I'd come and dine here again.

Came here on my first night in Quebec City without a reservation. The restaurant is charming. The service was excellent. We were immediately seated. Within 10 minutes of ordering, we received our appetizers. Everything tasted delicious. My favorite was the Parmesan croquet and asparagus soup. The Caesar salad was also incredible. The veal piccata was excellent as was the filet mignon. Desserts were amazing. Not sure how parking is. We parked at our hotel and walked over. It's located in the heart of Quebec City.

We were seated on the patio and our very sweet server was right out to take our drink order. Since we are eating Poutine all over Canada in search of our favorite. We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

We had 9 people and they sat 5 at a table and 4 at the bar and we were completely fine with the arrangement. It is quaint and small and we could see our family and even shared some food since we Were close enough. The cheese fondue is not to be missed . It was absolutely the perfect start to our meal. Then we shared an original poutine and it also was delicious- best I had on our trip thus far! I ordered mussels for my meal and a steaming pot arrived and they were yummy. Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

I wasn't too hungry so I ordered an app for my entree, the bruschetta. It came loaded with seasoned tomato pieces. Hubby ordered the pasta with clams in a spicy sauce. There was a misunderstanding with his meal. When hubby asked questions about the carbonara, our server thought he ordered the carbonara when he actually decided on the pasta with clams. When the wrong meal was brought over, our server escalated to his manager who then offered to exchange his meal. They kept apologizing for the mixup but honestly, they already handled it well by replacing it without issues. The pasta dish was so good! I scooped the extra sauce with my crostini and really enjoyed it. The clams were meaty and fresh too. Daughter ordered the pasta with meat sauce- also very good. This small restaurant has tables pretty close together and is part of a hotel. If anything needs to be improved, it's the ventilation. Afterwards, our clothes had heavy food scents!

We started with the bruschetta which was tasty and the toast was lightly toasted without being that over toasted, cut your mouth, hard bread. For our mains, I had the wild mushroom pasta which I really enjoyed. None of the "dirt taste" other reviewers commented about, just lovely mushroom taste, great al dente pasta. My dining partner had the mama's lasagna. He said it was good, and was a very large portion of, but said it was a bit salty. Overall a wonderful meal. Good wine options, good food choices, and good service.

We decided to try our luck at Portofino, which had some great reviews. We were told the wait would be an hour or more--and almost exactly an hour later, our table opened up. Totally worth the wait! The whole family loves Italian food, and Portofino delivered. We started with Caprese and bruschetta, followed by cacio e pepe, arrabbiata, eggplant Parmesan, and pizza. Everything was delicious, and the staff was happy to adjust a couple of dishes to our liking. One thing we didn't know before arriving: there was live music! We ended up with a table right next to the duo performing. It was actually a lot of fun singing along to some good old classics. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, though, this may not be your place--but for a lively family evening, it was perfect! And since we had a birthday in the group, the staff surprised us with cannoli mousse, crème and ice cream. A huge shout-out to Steve, who was absolutely awesome! He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made our evening special. And kudos to Steve and the chef for serving up some seriously finger-licking-good food! We'll definitely be back.
