Now for the food and wait staff, totally different experience. We got the calamari which couldn't have been blander and garlic bread that is bested by anything in the frozen aisle. Most of us got pasta, definitely a box pasta and decent sauce but for 28 dollars was expecting better, I did pay 8 dollars for sausage and got 4 bland pieces added in. This is our third time here and it never disappoints. Minestrone soup was spot on while the Veal Ossobuco was phenomenally tender, juicy and very flavorful. Service was prompt, courteous and efficient. Au Parmasan has found its niche and delivers a wonderful overall dining experience. read more

Tourist Trap! Lousy pricey food. Worst Margarita pizza I've had. Better choices elsewhere

Hubs loves chicken parm, and when he traveled to Mexico on the regular for work he would get it there at the restaurant by his hotel. And we called it "Mexican food", because he was in Mexico. So when there was a place lit up like the Italian flag right by Chateau Frontenac in Quebec, we joked that he could get "Mexican food" here too, and have it be "Quebecois". To no one's surprise, that is exactly what he did. I, by contrast, went with the server's recommendation and got the rack of lamb. When lamb is an option, always choose lamb! (In our extended family, this is the Larry rule.) Now our server gave me about 6 different things when I asked what his favorite was, but he listed lamb first, and there is a reason for that. It cut like butter (actually better than butter because they evidently keep their butter really cold there) and practically slipped down without your needing to chew, but at the same time, you want to keep it in your mouth to really savor. If I was not sitting at a center table I might have full-on gnawed on the bones like they were ribs and licked the plate to get the last of the hearty grdidn't. We bookended our meal with tasty standards: calamari to start, creme brulee to end. They served the calamari with cocktail sauce, which is not something I think of; to me marinara or even an aioli would be a default, but cocktail sauce is so much better! We were extremely disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We waited a very long time while other tables that arrived after us were served, ate, and left before we even received proper attention. We didn't even get bread until we asked for it ourselves. Our waiter barely checked on our table throughout the meal, which made us feel ignored and unwelcome. Toward the end of our meal, another staff member finally asked us how the service was. We honestly explained our experience, and she said she would speak to the owner. Shockingly, the owner never came to speak with us or acknowledge the situation. As four Black men dining with one Caucasian guest, the experience left us questioning whether we were treated differently. Whether intentional or not, the level of neglect and lack of professionalism was unacceptable. We expected much better hospitality and respect. Très déçus par le service dans ce restaurant. I wish I could give them zero stars. The bread was like a rock. For an Italian restaurant, they don't have any olive oil, etc for the bread. The soup was horrible. I lobster soup, which was absolutely terrible. My granddaughter had the soup of the day which had cream sauce with prosciutto, which she also did not eat. Absolute must go to This is a beautiful classic Italian restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious, we ordered Alfredo and seafood pasta, both were incredible and the portion was very generous. We were also served fresh bread and cannelloni which was very tasty. But I have to give the crown to the Margarita Pizza we ordered, a must try for sure. Very delicious and highly recommend you try it. What made this restaurant so great was the service, we were treated with such respect and the staff was always attentive of ours requests. I didn't catch the name of the other two servers that were extremely kind but I did get the name of Katia, her service was great and always checked we had everything to make our meal perfect. Tired of pubs and poutine, we have Restaurant Parmesan a try and it was pretty good! Quirky and lovely, we enjoyed a super friendly greeting from the hostess and were seated promptly. We tried the fondue which was just two squares of fried cheese that were just ok and no marinara to dip. Bread on the table was plain but good. Our nice young waiter helped us with the menu and we tried manicotti, cannelloni, ravioli and chicken fettuccini. Everything was pretty good. Mine needed a little salt, but nothing I couldn't fix myself. Wasn't the best Italian I've had - but hit the spot! read more

Positives - we were seated quickly. Both my husband and I ordered the spaghetti bolognese which was good. The accordion player is fantastic! Negatives - staff is abrupt and rude. We ordered a capresi salad and they brought out a Caesar salad in error. No biggie to us. We were happy to wait for the correct salad, however the server and another more senior and even more ornery server went back and forth with one another insisting that we were the ones in the wrong. Once the younger server took our order, we never saw him again. The older ornery man, sadly, was the only one we interacted with after that. No sooner had my husband finished his entree was the old server at the table with a credit card machine ready to take payment. My husband sent him away since I was still eating my dinner. Once I finished my last bite, the server immediately returned with the credit card machine. He stood there and watched over while my husband inserted his card and added the tip amount. The server printed out the receipt, handed it to my husband without so much as a "Thank you" or "Have a good evening" and moved to the next table with the credit card machine. We knew this restaurant was going to be a bit cheesy so were weren't expecting it to be a 5 star dining experience with respect to food quality, but we certainly did NOT anticipate the rude service. Food finally arrived. The spinach lasagna was OK, but my wife said mine is far superior. I had rhe chicken parmessean with spaghetti bologanese. The chicken was a bit dry, and th e sauce was a bit stingy. I make a great chicken parmesean, and this in no way compared. Spaghetti was OK, but a small portion. My friend recommended the seafood bowl(the one costs $58/person, min 2 persons to order), so we came here only for this dish. They have a huge lobster, shrimp, salmon, mussels, scallop, boiled in tomato based soup. The soup is creamy, and tastes very good. It might be a bit pricy but considering the portion and the quality, it's totally worth the price. After finishing the seafood, you can choose to add noodles or rice into the remaining soup, make it a complete meal. The creme brûlée is sooo good as well. My friends and I recently came here while vacationing in Quebec. The ambiance of the restaurant originally attracted us, it was very warm and full of music. The food was alright, not anything to rave about to friends back home. Very standard Italian menu options with no discerning excellence or displeasure with the meals, but the lobster bisque was very salty. However, what ruined our experience was our waitress. My friends and I felt that as soon as she seated as, she would not be a gracious host to us. On top of openly laughing at my friends and I to her colleague when she asked us what language we would prefer and we responded that English, Spanish, or French would be alright, she was quite rude to us when we had issues with our orders. She failed to check in on us, she made very annoyed and disgusted faces at our inquiries. When we informed her that the lobster bisque was too salty, she made a very exasperated sigh and took it away without giving my friend a chance to order something else. Had we had pleasant service, our experience and my rating would be much higher. Unfortunately, we felt unattended to and like a burden when we needed something. I personally would not recommend, especially during their peak dinner hours, but I would recommend if you enjoy a warm atmosphere with singing and accordion music for dinner. read more

The waiter brought me bill for $74.27 and on his own, added tip for $9.72. I paid $83.99 for 2 soups and 2 appetizers. This place is total Rip-Off. I never make reviews. But I am begging everyone who sees this to NEVER come to this restaurant in Quebec City. I have never had such a HORRIBLE experience with a restaurant like this before. First seeing the dessert displayed right in front of the door, with no controlled temperature and some missing lids on top was quiet unsanitary. Should of been my first warning to steer clear. The ambiance was a fun setting with music and lots of noise. There was a lot of customers, which I have no idea why... the food and drinks were horrible. Espresso martini tastes like straight whip cream, mojito was filled with sugar and cheap alcohol. When asked how the martinis taste, we responded with "good" just to not complain and situations like this sometimes happen. But the Bruschetta was not even Bruschetta! Cup of oil with tomato's thrown in. I have been to many Italian places even visited Italy to know that this place is Food fraud. The waiter messed up an order of pizza, apologized, said he will give the first one for free and had a young busboy bring the second one. But It WAS ALREADY PACKED IN A TO-GO BOX while my party were still eating out of their main dish. I thought no problem.. that's fine. Then few minutes later, the busboy comes with a pizza on the plate as I'm already eating the to go pizza. At this point I thought it was a joke and said it's not for this table. The pizza tasted like peta bread with canned tomato sauce and a slab of old mozzarella cheese - that once you bite into it everything comes off. I was so upset about the pizza that I couldn't even eat it and my stomach hurt so much by the end of the night I had thrown up the few pieces I ate. Horrible last day experience. If you want some great Italian in town- Bello has amazing pasta choices with great martinis. THE WORST PART OF IT IS - where the waiter watched my party put their credit card in and got annoyed she was reading the screen about which tip amount. HE GRABS the card device and ENTERS THE TIP AMOUNT OF 15% AND PRESSES ENTER. I was appalled when I saw this disrespect and had to speak up about this. I told him "why are you putting in the numbers yourself.. she should be putting in the tip amount not you..." . He responses "It is standard to pay a 15% tip amount in Quebec City". I responded back "so.. what if she wanted to tip you more amount??" The waiter responded with "Don't worry, we get plenty of 30% tips" then flings the receipt on the table and storms off.
