I spent three-four days at Maryland's Assateague State Park to do some beach strolling and bike riding. On Saturday morning, my first day, I made a foolish mistake but Continental Cycles bailed me out. I filled my tires with air. Five minutes later, the rear tire deflated--psssssst! I did not bring an extra tube or tools. I read some reviews on YELP and came up with Continental Cycles in Ocean Pines/Berlin area. I removed my wheel, hopped in my car, and strolled in. I told the two men I recognize this is the busiest season. I showed them the tire and said I checked Zizzo online and it said inflation should be between 85 and 110 psi. I had filled it to 90 psi. "If you can help me, great. If not, I understand." The young man looked at the tire and said I over-inflated it. "This is not the original tire." (I had put fatter tires on for gravel). "The air rating is 40 to 65 psi. It's a BMX tire. If you leave it with us and come back in an hour, we'll have it ready for you. It will cost about $18." I was absolutely delighted! When I returned in an hour, my wheel was ready. I paid with a little extra gratitude. The older gentleman walked out with me and re-installed the wheel on the back of my folding bike which had been in the car. What did I experience? Two men willing to help which included efficiency and a great attitude. Also, I might say, a fair price. read more

The young man that helped me purchase a good, XL, multi speed bicycle showed me my trek verve 3 disc and I was sold. He and his co-worker were technically knowledgeable, passionate about their work, and easy to work with. When it came to accessories there was nothing like: "well it should fit" or "it should work"; I didn't hear the word should. Another $400 worth of accessories and I was all set. I'd picked out a Trek Shift 1 bicycle at Salisbury Cycle and Fitness, but wanted to try it out in the parking lot before paying the $419 for the bike. They wouldn't allow me to, so sat in my car and searched other dealers in the area. Got a hold of Continental Cycles and they had the Trek Shift 1. It was near closing time and I was still 30 minutes away. They guy on the phone told me he'd wait for me and said, "Of course you can try it out before buying it." I headed down there and he could not have been more helpful. He spent an hour with me talking about the bike and equipment. He was honest about gear not trying to upsell me with unnecessary extras. I also loved how he spoke to other people who came in after hours including two boys who had bike questions. This shop knows how to serve customers. They also have a huge selection of stuff. I spent $419 on the bike, plus I got a helmet, a basket, a rack for the back and a bag for the rack. I spent over $600 and was absolutely delighted with the bike and the service. This is a shop worth driving the extra mile for. read more

We were on our way to Frontiertown when our rv bike rack decided to fall off the RV and of cause damage to our daughter's bike. We called the shop and they found the size wheel we needed, we dropped it off and it was read for us the next day. Thanks for saving our weekend getaway! read more

I'm on vacation down here in Maryland. I brought my bike and much to my dismay, I broke several spokes on my wheel. I didn't think any of the local shops would be able to repair a broken wheel, as most specialize in beach bike rentals. I was happily surprised to find out this shop was able to repair my wheel. I dropped it off and had it back in my hands repaired the next day, just like he promised. It turned out to be A LOT cheaper than I was expecting as well. Friendly staff, fast service, and excellent prices! Highly recommended! read more

I noticed "John E's" review from 7/19 and have almost the same exact story. I don't get down to my shore house very often and ride my bike even less. Sometimes the tires are completely flat...so you can imagine the time interval. I pumped up my tires as I was going to go riding with some folks the next day and the front tire popped (no, unlike John, I didn't over inflate :) ). I walked into the cycle shop at around 3PM and told the guys my story. I was in a jam. They told me, come back at 4:45 and I will have you done one way or the other. I did...and it was. $90 worth of repairs as more was "in need" than I thought. I can't tell you how pleasant they were. I asked why they helped me and the Manager told me it was because I asked nicely...HOLY COW! Imagine that! What has the world come to? I told them both that when they went home that night, to think about how they made a REAL impact in someone's life that day. Sure...because they fixed my bike, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, they were gentlemen and a real pleasure to have come in contact that day. That experience made my trip! Thanks guys!!! read more

I've bought 3 Treks this summer for myself, my wife and my daughter. Each time we took a while to decide and tested lots of bikes. Mike answered my million questions, let us test different bikes and didn't pressure me to buy. Mike is a bike guy who knows his stuff. Also the prices I paid were below Trek's advertised price online and came with a free 60 day tune up. Also had two older Treks tuned up professionally at a good price. Love Trek bikes and this is a great local bike shop. read more

I don't typically write reviews but I couldn't resist writing this one. Continental Ctcles is by far the worst and least helpful bicycle shop we have ever been to. Twice now in the past year or so, my husband and I stopped by on our bikes to get a new tube or needed air. Each time we happened to get there just as they were closing but they were still there putting bikes away. They refused to sell us the tube because they had already closed the register and we didnt have cash. But the worst today was we just had a flat and the portable pump was not good enough. We comforted ourselves knowing this bike shop was not too far. But noooo... They couldn't help us. Not an ounce of sympathy. What good is a bike shop when they refuse to help cyclists obviously in the midst of a ride? read more

We had a beach cruiser that sat in storage for 40 years and was essentially never ridden. We replaced the rear tire and tube but the wheel wouldn't reseat correctly in the frame and the coaster brake stopped working. Brought it in and the bike mechanic proclaimed this bike had tons of miles on it and after taking a look at it, the coaster brake was burned up and it'd be an entire wheel replacement for $200. Turning that down, he put the wheel on correctly, took the bike home, and the coaster brake was working just fine. We'll be using another shop next time. read more
