This is one of my absolute favorite shops, and I always enjoy coming back here. The quality of the sausages and products is consistently excellent -- you can really tell everything is made with care. The wieners are especially amazing. They're my personal favorite, and my kids love them too, which says a lot. It's not easy to find sausages that both adults and children genuinely enjoy, but this place nails it every time. I also want to give a special mention to the staff. The woman at the register is always incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly. She's a wonderful person, and I'm genuinely happy to see her every time I come in. So was craving a fresh bratwurst so I found this place online and it was only 31 miles away from me well if you want something good your gonna have to get out and get it. Ok it was a Saturday morning so traffic shouldn't be a problem. I got there right after they opened about 9:30 ish. And got great parking in the front. I walked in and seen a lot of familiar items that I'm used to in New York and Germany. I was a happy person. First things first I came for brats. They only had a few in the deli section and no packages of the brats I wanted so the guy behind the counter checked the freezer and came out with a large package of brats I said how much, give me them I worked around bought some bread frozen ready to bake in the oven and a couple pretzels. And grabbed a couple bags of perogie and another pack of polish kielbasa. Of mustard could leave with out mustard and some German potato salad. This little store is well kept and reminded me of home. A great atmosphere and vibe. I will definitely be back here for me brats fix and other items. Oh and yes I grabbed a 6 pack of German bier. Yummo. My life is complete. read more

This German store with its house-made German cold cuts is, for me, a native German, pure heaven. They have almost everything I miss so much when I think about good German cold cuts. Gelbwurst, fine Liverwurst, Jaegerwurst, and the best of all, a Salami I could not find anywhere at all. The best Salami there is, and for a price I can't even get a normal Salami here. It is called Servelat. One of the finest Salamis there is. And also the sausages. OMG, they even got those famous Nürnberger sausages you get there as a street food ( 3 small ones in a Kaiser roll), and the Swiss white sausage. So delicious. And the list goes on. Of course, they also have a nice selection of cheeses. Then, their breads, shipped half-baked from Germany, you can finish baking at home, or buy them there fully baked. And of course, quite a few German groceries, sweets, wines, beers, and frozen items. But what also stands out is that wonderful and so sweet lady behind the counter. Armine. She's been working there for a very long time. She is always friendly and welcoming. And she knows her job well. German meats at their finest! I came here from the South Bay when we lost the last of the authentic German markets, Alpine Market and before them, Hickorysweet, which closed in the 90s I believe. I grew up with these markets and when I tell you I had a flashback, it was real. The fragrance was the same and so was the taste. These butchers were all trained by the same gentleman and it shows in their quality. I've seen this butchers products in other markets and they are wonderful. Our local German butcher burned down a few years ago and we haven't been able to find our traditional Wienerle no we eat on Christmas Eve anywhere.My daughter found the shop in Glendale, and I got on the phone. It was such a pleasure and easy experience talking to Abel and ordering Wienerle for pick up. He found out for me what day they were butchering so we could get them super fresh. My daughter brought them yesterday, and I am impressed. There are some harsh German judges in this house, and the sausages are really good. I called this place a couple months ago about a bulk order for a big party event and spoke with Aybell, who clearly did not know anything. After being no help, he told me he'd clear up some things and get back to me. I waited 2 weeks and still no response.... So I called again asking if there were any updates and I was met with the most egotistical, helpless and rude person I have ever spoken to. He acted like he ran the place, but somehow wasn't able to answer simple questions regarding my order. I ended up ordering from Shriners instead because I had no time left for my event. That really sucked because I loved Continental Deli. I wasn't going to write this review, but I just remembered walking in a couple weeks ago and accidentally running into Aybell again. To no surprise, his arrogance translated into his real life self. I went to grab some food in the morning for my employees and as I was ordering, I saw a well fed individual walk past the working area with sunglasses. For some reason, my gut told me that it was Aybell and it was because I heard the worker say "good morning Aybell" to him. This sucks because I really love the food from this place and it amazes me how 1 person is able to single handedly make it unlikable for me. Still, I'd recommend you stop by to try their food as long as you don't run into Aybell. 5 stars for food, 4 stars for ambiance (cause there's a chance you see Mr. Sunglasses), and 3 stars for service (because everyone else I came across was great). read more

So I haven't been here in a while. However, a few days before Christmas I had this crazy idea about celebrating a German Christmas. The lady behind the counter almost made me turn around because she wasn't very pleasant looking. She never smiled and almost looked bothered, but nonetheless, I was determined to try it. BOY, am I glad I did. What a treat! I had the Black Forest Ham sandwich. It was plain, with a little bit of mayo and mustard on an amazing roll. My wife and I came here one morning after a craving for European style sausages and wieners. This place offers a diverse selection for European style meats from liverwurst, headcheese to brats and knackwurst. We bought some currywurst packets and also some veal brats. Their home made sauerkraut is incredible. I highly suggest it. They offer sandwiches to order so we went for the 2 wieners for 7 dollars. It comes with kraut, and pickles. It's the oddest place for a sausage kitchen in Glendale, but it's also BEST meat store to grab the freshest German wursts! The modest exterior paints the shop like an European, countryside house, and the storefront stands out of place from the ordinary suburban street. But once inside, you're hit with a no-frills setup of a long sausage counter, offering a myriad of German-style sausages! Everything seems to be housemade, at least for 30 years according to the posted newspapers and awards decorating the giant wall of trophies behind the counter. The extensive sausage library has everything from bratwurst, weisswurst, liverwurst (smooth or chunky), thuringer brat, bier schinken to pikant wurst! There is also a small market of European imports like bottled sauces and chocolate, but I couldn't resist jumping into the deli of gourmet dogs immediately! For the price of about $6 for a weiner sandwich, I opted for 2 DEBREC ZINER, but the POLISH and the KNACKWURST are great contenders for a filling meal. SAUERKRAUT is the de-facto correct choice for a side, but the WURST SALAD and GERMAN POTATO look equally appetizing! The lunchlady-looking server heated up my debrec ziner, cut it in half, and sandwiched it between two pairs of rye bread. A pickle and the side of sauerkraut to balance out the meal was conveniently placed in a to-go box. My apologies that my picture covers up the weiners, but it's as juicy and flavourful as the best sausage I've eaten in LA. Truly an undiscovered place, this spot deserves an attentive visit! First trip to Continental Gourmet Sausage this week. We got the frozen bratwurst. My step-dad, who grew up with German brats, loved it. He said the brats were tied with his favorite Johnsonville brats. I wish they had a bit more of a tangy kick, but they were good. I picked up 1 lbs of bologna chub. If you've ever eaten at the Red Lion, I don't need to tell you how good Continental's meats are. After wanting to check this place out for many years, I finally made it in the other day to stock up on sausages for a New Years party. I bought Thuringer Bratwurst, Nuremburg bratwurst, Kase Krainer, weiners, and debrezinger. All were excellent but we unanimously liked the Kase Krainer, a cheese-filled one, the best (unsurprisingly). I also picked up a raspberry lambic-type beer which everyone enjoyed. The lady at the counter was extremely helpful and gave me very clear instructions on how to heat up the fully cooked sausages vs. the frozen ones. She also gave me a couple magnets for my fridge. My only suggestion would be for them to start carrying brat rolls and a few varieties of sauerkraut. Otherwise, this would be your one-stop shop for a German-themed dinner party. I had to stop at a Ralphs to pick up a pack of rolls and jar of Claussen kraut but the rolls weren't authentic and the kraut was obviously not as good as that of the Red Lion. Edit: they apparently do carry sauerkraut but did not have any in stock the day I was there. read more

I stumble on this market via an accident. I parked my car right on front of them and saw the sign. Once I went in tent didn't disappoint. I found GERMAN stuff there and their sausage OMG! What a gourmet delicious Delicatesse. I got the wiener and knack wurst and also some frozen GERMAN Brötchen! It was definitely delicious! The lady who served me was very nice. She also gave me a sample of if wiener to try. This store is a fresh breeze of Germany in LA! I'm so happy I found them and I will be back for more sausages and Brötchen. And the frozen bröchen! OMG!
