Just found this place through Instagram ads and decided to give it a try. Just for information, their working hours are 9 AM-9 PM, 7 days a week. I mentioned this because we missed it on one of our attempts. Finally, on Sunday evening, my husband and I had a chance to visit Butcher and Booze. Very interesting store, with a delicious smell. There is a huge section of drinks where you can find very unique wines and alcoholic beverages. They also have a section of Japanese drinks, and in another corner, different kinds of unique seasonings, BBQ charcoal, and other BBQ supplies. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Next to the drinks section, there are several tables available indoors and two tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining to enjoy your meals. Their food menu is very interesting, and we tried the Philly cheesesteak and pastrami sandwiches (which they prepare completely in-house from A to Z). The sandwiches were super delicious, juicy, and full of flavor. One thing that surprised me was the amount of salt they used -- it was exactly the right amount, and we didn't get thirsty after eating them. These sandwiches are some of the best we've tried so far, and I highly recommend giving them a try. I noticed a huge samovar (large kettle) and another kettle in the corner of the open kitchen, and I asked about them. Argisht, who noticed my interest and who I believe is behind the kitchen and the delicious food success there, started a very warm and helpful conversation with us and surprised us by serving cups of tea. The tea tasted super soft and delicious. If you have ever tried Middle Eastern tea, you will love this tea. Luckily, they are selling it in the store, if I am not wrong it was Sri Lanka tea, which I have never seen in any store around Glendale or Burbank. First off, I didn't even try the actual hot food that they service but ambiance and service?! 100000000/10. Exceptional. Just that in itself will be bringing my husband and I back. We came here on Christmas Eve hoping to try their sandwiches but to also buy some meat as a white elephant gift. First off we were greeted warmly by the staff - not just the cashier but every staff member working behind the counter. On top of that, they gave us a shot of cognac for my husband and I to try. We decided to try buy some wagyu burger patties for the white elephant (we ended up winning these back during our white elephant - they were excellent!). The patties were juicy, rich, and so tasty! Can't wait to try other cuts! When we checked out, they offered us two small complimentary bottles of champagne and some produce from their refrigerated area. this was so kind of them to do so. This place is like your one stop shop - hot food, butcher, alcoholic drinks, liquor, and other cooking goods like seasonings, caviar, butter etc. Unfortunately they were not serving sandwhiches that day so we didn't get to try but we will definitely be coming back to try! Amazing cheese Burger, Amazing Philly Cheese steak sandwich, and incredible sushi! A friend of mine has been telling me to come here for a while, today I finally did, and I am left speechless! This place has incredible service 1st of all, I haven't received service this amazing at any steak house! Here they treat you like family! The burger was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, the bread is fluffy and packed with flavor! Every bite makes you grateful to be here! The burger was so good I had to try the Philly cheesesteak sandwich! Amazingly saucy, the sauce had a nice taste to it, the cheese was perfect not overwhelming nor plain, it is perfectly flavorful! Again, the bread is perfect, not too soft, not hard, perfect! I saw that the chef was making sushi in the back, and I asked if I could try some, the sushi was beyond incredible! Better than most sushi spots, I asked how they got the sushi to taste so buttery and flavorful, they told me their fish is NEVER frozen, it is purchased early morning fresh and served the same day! The sushi was buttery, tender, fresh! I came here casually to try a burger, and I left blown away with my experience here! MUST try this spot! No need to derive to San Marino - this place is wonderful. I have not tried the sandwiches but I have had the bone in filet, waygu skewers and hamburgers and I love this place. The service is above and beyond and the place has a great neighborhood vibe. I will definitely be going back. The steaks are not necessarily for 1 person but whatever I had was fantastic. This is my favorite butcher in LA for the quality of their meat program--Creekstone Farms. Though there are a lot of butchers that advertise their angus, premium or dry-aged beef, after comparing their similarly labeled beef against what is on offer here I have found that the competition is not at the same level. The open secret of this quality is the underlying quality of the beef program Butcher & Booze use. I love dry-aged beef, and though the amount of beef in the dry-age case is limited, it is high quality and worth scheduling purchases to line up with the level of aging you are looking for. Get to know your butcher, people. The wine and liquor selection is compelling, as are the other specialty grocery products which are fairly priced. A very good butcher, indeed. read more

Excellent customer service! We got patties for Memorial Day, and they were absolutely amazing. Not only was the quality outstanding, but they also threw in a few extra patties, which was a very nice surprise. This is officially my new go-to butcher shop. This place is down the street from the Glendale Galleria. It's kind of hard to miss while driving by because it's hard to find street parking. The store is clean and has different areas, there's a wall of grocery items, an area to buy raw beef, a fridge with produce, a fridge with craft beer, and a whole area with wine! So much to see!! The owner was very kind and offered to answer any questions we had while I looked around. He was really kind and gave us recommendations for different beef cuts to buy. He was genuine and gave us tips on how to cook certain cuts. Really nice guy! The Philly Cheesesteak was a 4/5. The sandwich was filled with plenty of meat but had slightly too much cheese for my liking. It was a wagyu Philly Cheesesteak so the meat was tender and fattier, perfectly fatty. The bread accompanied the sandwich and soaked up the juices from the meat and cheese. I loved that the bread didn't fall apart, I hate when that happens! After eating the Philly cheesesteak, my boyfriend and I walked around the store to look at the grocery items they sold. There's a huge selection of different sauces, canned fish and foods, drinks, snacks. Mostly international brands which was really cool to see. Think Whole Foods pricing but way better meat. Their Philly cheesesteak deserves its own paragraph. It's that good. Came here for lunch on Taco Tuesday. Ordered a wagyu Philly Cheesesteak and one wagyu taco. I chose the pineapple salsa and found myself eating the leftover salsa with a spoon after I finished the taco. The cheesesteak was easily the best I've ever had. I believe their ingredients set them apart. The pricepoint is what I expect for the area. Eating out in this part of town is always going to be $20-$30. If you like meat, you can't beat a wagyu meal in that same price range. The food came out about 10 minutes after ordering. Spent that time looking at everything around the shop: spices, seasonings, canned and jarred goodies, barbecue equipment, wine and liquor... and the delicious looking raw meat fridge. Would love to buy a few items here for my next barbecue. There is metered parking out front, a couple tables outside, and a few tables inside. The service is top notch. Disappointed in the service here. Walked in by myself, no one greeted me despite 3 other men coming in after I ordered who were all greeted with a "hello we'll be right with you". Was just given my sandwich with an "oh yeah". I think anytime a customer steps into an establishment, they should be greeted no matter what and if there was a mistake, a simple apology would have been great.
