My partner and I stopped by B&B for a late lunch. We'd seen their Philly on social and decided we needed to try it out since we're always in the area and it could become a staple. We ordered the Philly and Pastrami to split and share. We dined in which was among a few small tables situated between the shelves of well-lit and visually clean bottles of liquor. Service was friendly but nothing memorable. After about 10 minutes, both sandwiches were brought to our table. They were hot and came on toasted rolls. Not really sure what bread specifically but seemed a bit like French rolls. Crunch crusts with soft middles which helped to cradle the fillings and absorb the delicious meat juices. The pastrami was great and not overly salty. It had a great zing from the crunchy pickles and mustard. The Philly was nice and gooey. The beef had great texture and was dripping with flavor (literally). Both were very good but I personally liked the pastrami better. If you like meat though, neither will disappoint. We will be back to try the other sandwiches. The only down side to our visit was buying sodas at the store. Their prices weren't listed and in my head, I expected them to be $3 or so. The Mexican Coke and small bottle of lemonade were each $6. $20 for a sandwich isn't cheap, but it price didn't make me gag--but I almost physically gagged when i saw soda prices ring up. Next time, we'll get our sandwiches to go and get drinks elsewhere. read more

This place is ridiculously good. The Wagyu cheesesteak and pastrami are phenomenal -- like, "I probably didn't need to eat the whole thing, but here we are" good. They also make fresh hand rolls in the store, because apparently being amazing at sandwiches wasn't enough. And the owner is awesome. Super friendly, genuinely nice guy who makes you want to support the place even more. Definitely worth checking out. Just don't blame me when you start craving that Wagyu cheesesteak. read more

Really cool little spot in Glendale. Butcher & Booze has a great selection of rare bottles, but what really caught my attention was the meat counter with some seriously beautiful cuts of beef and steaks. I ordered the Italian Beef Sandwich, and while I was waiting, the owner handed me a bottled water and then brought over a sample of their off menu lobster roll to try. Such a nice, unexpected gesture. The lobster roll was excellent. The Italian Beef was fantastic too. Great ingredients, great people, and the kind of place where you can tell they really care about what they're doing. Definitely one of those neighborhood spots you're happy to discover. Three of us visited Butcher & Booze to try their homemade sandwiches. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak, the cheeseburger, a meatball sandwich, and an Italian beef sandwich. Cheeseburger: Very good. Great grind on the meat. Lots of flavor. Perfectly cooked. Cheesesteak: Good, but not great. If you like a traditional Philly cheesesteak, this won't measure up. Meatball sandwich: Excellent. Wonderful flavor. Italian beef: OK. Nothing like a traditional Chicago beef sandwich. The owner and staff are great--very friendly. Just found this place through Instagram ads and decided to give it a try. Just for information, their working hours are 9 AM-9 PM, 7 days a week. I mentioned this because we missed it on one of our attempts. Finally, on Sunday evening, my husband and I had a chance to visit Butcher and Booze. Very interesting store, with a delicious smell. There is a huge section of drinks where you can find very unique wines and alcoholic beverages. They also have a section of Japanese drinks, and in another corner, different kinds of unique seasonings, BBQ charcoal, and other BBQ supplies. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Next to the drinks section, there are several tables available indoors and two tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining to enjoy your meals. Their food menu is very interesting, and we tried the Philly cheesesteak and pastrami sandwiches (which they prepare completely in-house from A to Z). The sandwiches were super delicious, juicy, and full of flavor. One thing that surprised me was the amount of salt they used -- it was exactly the right amount, and we didn't get thirsty after eating them. These sandwiches are some of the best we've tried so far, and I highly recommend giving them a try. I noticed a huge samovar (large kettle) and another kettle in the corner of the open kitchen, and I asked about them. Argisht, who noticed my interest and who I believe is behind the kitchen and the delicious food success there, started a very warm and helpful conversation with us and surprised us by serving cups of tea. The tea tasted super soft and delicious. If you have ever tried Middle Eastern tea, you will love this tea. Luckily, they are selling it in the store, if I am not wrong it was Sri Lanka tea, which I have never seen in any store around Glendale or Burbank. Thank you for the great food, awesome store, and very positive and friendly service. With just one visit, Butcher and Booze will become one of your usual spots, so don't miss it! read more

This place is down the street from the Glendale Galleria. It's kind of hard to miss while driving by because it's hard to find street parking. The store is clean and has different areas, there's a wall of grocery items, an area to buy raw beef, a fridge with produce, a fridge with craft beer, and a whole area with wine! So much to see!! The owner was very kind and offered to answer any questions we had while I looked around. He was really kind and gave us recommendations for different beef cuts to buy. He was genuine and gave us tips on how to cook certain cuts. Really nice guy! The Philly Cheesesteak was a 4/5. The sandwich was filled with plenty of meat but had slightly too much cheese for my liking. It was a wagyu Philly Cheesesteak so the meat was tender and fattier, perfectly fatty. The bread accompanied the sandwich and soaked up the juices from the meat and cheese. I loved that the bread didn't fall apart, I hate when that happens! After eating the Philly cheesesteak, my boyfriend and I walked around the store to look at the grocery items they sold. There's a huge selection of different sauces, canned fish and foods, drinks, snacks. Mostly international brands which was really cool to see. If you want great service, stay away from this place. I used to come here a few times a week however the Customer Service is absolutely non existent. The workers and low grade owner wouldn't even have gloves. I called in so I can get my order ready beforehand, and the owner said I can't make it in time because he had no supplies. No gloves & plumbing issues and there's always an issue with the meat. He sold me some wagyu meat with freeze dried dark spots and claimed he never freezes his meats. What a liar. He also overcharged me for charcoal and when I called him about it the owner said "I thought you took the more expensive one" i also showed him which charcoal bag I'm taking before I left the shop and he would never give me the receipt. Another time he charged me for 2 separate items which later when I got Home was never in the bag. This place is seriously one of Glendale's hidden gems. My husband and I stopped by once to try their sandwiches and now we can't stop going back. We usually pick up meat for the week while we're there -- the prime ribeye and New York strip are insane. Easily the best we've ever had, and the prices are really fair for the quality. Think Whole Foods pricing but way better meat. Their Philly cheesesteak deserves its own paragraph. It's that good. First off, I didn't even try the actual hot food that they service but ambiance and service?! 100000000/10. Exceptional. Just that in itself will be bringing my husband and I back. We came here on Christmas Eve hoping to try their sandwiches but to also buy some meat as a white elephant gift. First off we were greeted warmly by the staff - not just the cashier but every staff member working behind the counter. On top of that, they gave us a shot of cognac for my husband and I to try. We decided to try buy some wagyu burger patties for the white elephant (we ended up winning these back during our white elephant - they were excellent!). The patties were juicy, rich, and so tasty! Can't wait to try other cuts! When we checked out, they offered us two small complimentary bottles of champagne and some produce from their refrigerated area. this was so kind of them to do so. This place is like your one stop shop - hot food, butcher, alcoholic drinks, liquor, and other cooking goods like seasonings, caviar, butter etc. Unfortunately they were not serving sandwhiches that day so we didn't get to try but we will definitely be coming back to try! This is my favorite butcher in LA for the quality of their meat program--Creekstone Farms. Though there are a lot of butchers that advertise their angus, premium or dry-aged beef, after comparing their similarly labeled beef against what is on offer here I have found that the competition is not at the same level. The open secret of this quality is the underlying quality of the beef program Butcher & Booze use. I love dry-aged beef, and though the amount of beef in the dry-age case is limited, it is high quality and worth scheduling purchases to line up with the level of aging you are looking for. Get to know your butcher, people. The wine and liquor selection is compelling, as are the other specialty grocery products which are fairly priced. A very good butcher, indeed. read more

Came here for lunch on Taco Tuesday. Ordered a wagyu Philly Cheesesteak and one wagyu taco. I chose the pineapple salsa and found myself eating the leftover salsa with a spoon after I finished the taco. The cheesesteak was easily the best I've ever had. I believe their ingredients set them apart. The pricepoint is what I expect for the area. Eating out in this part of town is always going to be $20-$30. If you like meat, you can't beat a wagyu meal in that same price range. The food came out about 10 minutes after ordering. Spent that time looking at everything around the shop: spices, seasonings, canned and jarred goodies, barbecue equipment, wine and liquor... and the delicious looking raw meat fridge. Would love to buy a few items here for my next barbecue. There is metered parking out front, a couple tables outside, and a few tables inside. The service is top notch. Every single person working here seems to really care that you get what you want and that you're satisfied, every step of the way.
