It's expensive. You give them a huge deposit and then you pay almost $700 per day for long term…read morecare. Thats right. $19,000/mo! So buyer beware. The administration continue to leave me unimpressed and often times, angry and disappointed. The front line staff is a mixed bag. We've had the mediocre and the bad. Then we've had some gems take care of my aunt. I would say that if not for the people on the front line that are there because they are in elderly care for the right reasons, the place would be completely miserable. Thankfully there are some good and caring clinicians. Transparency is not a strong point for BBV. Neither is coordination. My aunt had moved to different areas for different levels of care and each time it feels rushed, pressured and doomed to a horrible transition. For the cost, you would hope that BBV would have moving coordinators that are helpful but nope. I would not recommend this place. It's pretty, and like I said, some beautiful people here and there but the admin is horrible to deal with by and large.

I had asked my brother-in-law if he would like me to be his advocate. He thought that would be great and appreciated my suggestion. I live on the West Coast and of course Brooksby is on the East Coast. I knew that because of HEPA laws staff are not supposed to talk to family members without written permission or consent form. I called their case manager and my brother-in-law's nurse over 15 times in one week and left voice messages. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK! When I finally reached someone in the administration office, I explained the situation and asked if she would please call me back either way to let me know what's going on. I STILL have not heard from anyone. Although I live 3000 miles away, I am the closest relative that still has cognitive abilities. All three of my younger sisters have Alzheimer's. I was hospitalized with shortness of breath which doctors thought I had a heart attack on top of a bad case of bronchitis. The cardiologist performed a cardiac catheterization and told me that my heart was "great." He asked if I had been under stress and diagnosed me with broken heart syndrome due to the stress I had caused by the total lack of communication between Brooksby regarding my family members and myself. NO ONE YET HAS CALLED ME BACK! It's been about 4-6 weeks. My family pay an exorbitant amount of money and Brooksby cannot return a phone call? Family care is good healthcare. I would not recommend Brooksby to anyone considering putting themselves or a loved one in that facility.

I'm giving three stars, the care by the nursing staff ie two of the nurses was wonderful (Lorna and…read moreDenise) there was another nurse that was awful and when my mom was dying she was so rough with her and almost choked her with medication, but I digress. Let me start at the beginning. We looked at this location for my mom because she needed more care than we were able to give her at home anymore, it all seemed like a great fit, the woman that gave us the tour was wonderful and kind, unfortunately she hit ill and they let her go. One thing that I cannot say enough about is the activities department! If not for them I would have taken my mom out, they kept my mom busy and entertainment for the last six months of her life. Jacinda the director should open her own business! I have so many items that my mother made that are beautiful and I will cherish them forever. Let me get to the negative about this company. The management is truly awful, I won't go into too many specifics but I know that karma will have her way with these folks. I will start with the family is supposed to get together with a manager and get a 30 and 60 day review of how their loved one is doing, Jack the manager had to change the date, ok fine but when I went in on the date he changed it to he started yelling at me (the customer paying 9k a month) saying he was too busy! There is a nurse case manager who oversees the nursing staff, unbeknownst to me I don't even think she's an RN, that I caught in a bunch of lies about my mother falling, which ultimately resulted in her death. I had asked to see the video to see my moms fall and was given the runaround how Jack couldn't find it on the film (what??? Why do you have cameras then?) my mom was in hospice care and did not have a long outlook but this definitely rushed her process along. I could go into many more stories, something that really left a bad taste in my mouth? They sent me a bill after my mom had passed away, keep in mind, this is a 50 bed facility, not a huge corporation! My mom had been gone over five weeks now, I'm still awaiting the refund I was promised three weeks ago, the management doesn't care about their clients whatsoever, it's all about the money, thank goodness for Lorna, Denise and Jacinda!

Mom died June 29, 2024 in Beverly Hospital alone in the first hour of the morning. It's been a year…read moreof processing the death of my healthy, cognizant mom after being placed at Putnam, ultimately against her wishes. Certain family members decided her fate after selling their out of state home and moving to Massachusetts. They helped sell her Salem condo and purchased a spacious and cushy Hamilton home with the help of mom's money and promised to care for her till she was medically challenged. After 6 years of housing and co-existing with her in this lovely home, and what appears to have been a blatant 5 year waiting period to clear a certain familiar 'Look-Back' legal hurdle, they dropped a bomb on my 92 year old mom and decided they could no longer care for her. They placed a shocked, terrified, and betrayed elderly parent in Putman Farm, assuring her she was in excellent care. My Mom vehemently protested the first week of placement and demanded she be released. Unfortunately she gave Power of Attorney and Health Care Proxy to this daughter and that sealed her fate. My sister & her husband essentially legally dissolved her right to live in her home and place of residence based on certain claims that included she was losing her memory. Mom was alert, mobile, and cared for herself hygienically and needed no assistance. Having arthritis, my sister was unwilling and incapable of no longer caring for her. The house was cleaned professionally, and my sister made her husband and mom's meals, food shopped and drove mom to her yearly doctor and eye appts. even with arthritis. They had the Director of Putman visit for an evaluation prior to placement. Putman obtained an elderly vulnerable signature from her and she was placed in mid February of 2024. After placement, immediate emotional agony, anger and depression set in. She reduced her eating. Though visited by family members, loneliness developed amongst a sea of smiling unfamiliar faces. Mom was deeply unhappy and expressed it. Alleged incidents of staff entering her room at night rummaging through her bed side draws, or curt remarks from certain staff members were disclosed. One morning, approx. 4 months later, on or around June 22nd, my mom entered the walk-in shower alone, and ironically 'unassisted' in a studio apartment in the facility. She slipped and fell, smashed her head open and fell back and fractured or broke her spine. How she was found or the extent or her injuries were never revealed to me. She landed in the hospital and died one week later. This will be added to a Mother's Day memory of my dear and valued Mom. And oh, that cushy Hamilton house? It has gained nearly a 51% increase in value. As for assisted living, hosing down in the outdoor garden might be safer (if they have one). At least there's a chance someone might see you and assist. Happy Mothers Day.
