Heard great things about this place & decided to give it a try with my family. Ordered a California burrito, an order of three beef rolled tacos, and a half order of the surf fries. There's no seating inside, you just order to go or you can order and sit outside. The employee who took our order was very patient and friendly while we looked over the menu. The rolled tacos were alright compared to other taco shops we've been to. My husband said next time he would pass on the surf and turf fries & order the California burrito instead.

An all around always-going-to-be-good spot. Will say this is a 4.5 because the Onlyyyyy thing that can be improved is the Quesabirria. Would say this can use a little more liquid or include a consomé like many places do nowadays. This is not stopping the renoccuring visits. Carne asada/ pollo asada fries good Cali burrito good Tacos gooooood. (Fish/ shrimp/ carne/ pollo) Appreciate that the orange salsa actually has spice to it and the other red and green also tasty. Desserts pleasantly surprised us. The arroz con leche is a repurchase. Everyone always friendly . Parking is limited but will usually find a space. Space is small but clean from what you can see. Worth trying it if looking for good Mexican taco shop.

Got a beef taco and a quesadilla, the quesadilla was amazing and the taco was good but but next time I'll ask for extra cheese, and the cashier was beautiful and attentive. Excellent customer service.

Service was fast& efficient! Everything pretty good. The green sauce is bomb! Myself & 2 kids ate everything &was full! The batter for the fish was a bit thick though.

Hard shell beef tacos are super good, the food is always hot and made to order, clean benches to sit at and great customer service. They always greet me with a smile and prompt service, I can come any day of the week and they are nice. I come here on my lunch breaks whenever I can.

Ok foos I asked some questions to learn more. They make their roll tacos fresh every day and the crispy tacos are made to order. I had a Mikita last time and it was good. This time I ordered street tacos and a quesabirria to see how it was They also make their Aguas frescas they are not powdered. They make the tortillas fresh as well. So basically no frozen stuff like many of the popular spots including Roberto's The pollo asado and carnitas tacos were delish. The quesabirria was really delish.

*I ordered through door dash* so I can't speak for the establishment itself. I ordered the rolled tacos with chicken. The chicken was okay I also asked for salsas and utensils. They did provide one of each salsa they had which I don't think was enough. I ordered the fries thinking they were the same as the picture I posted but nope they were just plain fries lol. So not sure if it's a restaurant issue or door dash. Fries were thin and crispy tho. Just bummed they weren't what I was expecting. The horchata was bombbbbb. It was cold and just the right amount of sweetness. Might try them again but go in person to see the actual menu. Paid around 25 bucks for all three items.

Based on their Yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. It's a small, unsuspecting place with a pretty straightforward menu and a variety of food options. It was late, so I called in my order to decrease my wait time. I was disappointed when they said they no longer sell the pork belly taco I saw on their Instagram page, so I decided to go with the pollo asado fries, Adobado taco, and spicy shrimp taco. The chicken on the fries was seasoned well and moist and the fries toppings were plentiful and super fresh. I expected a little more flavor from the Adobado taco, but it was still tasty. The spiciness of the spicy shrimp taco was so overpowering that I wasn't able to enjoy it. It was freshly made, but I just couldn't get past the heat. The quality and flavor of the tortillas, fresh salsas, and Horchata were a huge plus. Customer service was great. Wait time was as expected. I'll definitely be back to try more things!

    California burrito

I was craving a burrito but didn't feel like driving all the way to my favorite spot in PB. Since I live in this area, I figured I should try something closer instead of going to the same Mexican places within a 10-mile radius. While searching on Yelp, I found this place--and it's literally only five minutes away! So we decided to give it a try. The place itself is small and pretty unassuming. The young lady at the register who took our order was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. There isn't any seating inside, but there are a couple of tables outside where we sat while waiting for our order. We ordered the California Burrito and the Mar y Tierra Burrito. The meat in both burritos was thinly sliced and very flavorful. The burritos weren't as huge as some other places, which I actually liked--they were still nicely packed and filling. I enjoyed the Mar y Tierra, though I wish there had been a bit more shrimp in it since I could barely find any. The California Burrito was really good and seemed creamier than others I've had, probably from the sour cream. The salsas definitely had some heat--too spicy for my husband--but I personally enjoyed them. Overall, it was a solid find so close to home, and I would definitely come back!

I was excited to see a New Mexican restaurant on nearby. Fish tacos are good and good value. One of my go to places.

There were a couple of groups dining in and someone picking up a to-go order, but there was still plenty of seating available. The employee working the counter was friendly. They also serve alcohol, and during my visit drinks were 20% off. Options included Pacifico, Modelo, Blue Moon, hard seltzers, and a selection of canned craft beers. I ordered: * Mahi Mahi Taco: the fish tasted fresh, and I liked the crispy onions on top. There was quite a bit of sauce, which made it pretty messy to eat. While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

The meat was flavorful, generously portioned, and served on homemade tortillas. They top the guacamole with a little scoop of pinto beans, and the melted cheese comes included at no extra cost. Overall, a solid taco. We'd definitely come back to try more of their menu.

Sometimes, there are nights when only tacos can fix me. It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

The highlight of the menu is the Keka Taco. It is incredibly delicious, loaded with flavor, and so filling that it can easily satisfy even the biggest appetite. The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times.
