Had an unexpected bill that I wasn't prepared to pay! *Note to the staff, please make sure that your patients are aware of the services provided before they are rendered*! Needless to say, I have a "bad taste" in my mouth about Honey Creek Dental right now! I want to go back for my cleanings b/c they are very conveniently located to where I live, however, I am going to have to think LONG and HARD about if I will go back, or if I want to just find another dentist.....only time will tell!!

Warning: Unexpected $1,017 bill after being told visit was covered…read more I visited Conyers Smiles Dentistry as a new patient for what I was told was a routine exam. When I arrived, staff confirmed my Cigna insurance had been verified and my visit was covered. I paid a copay and thought nothing of it. Weeks later I received an Explanation of Benefits showing I owe $1,017 out of pocket for a Cone Beam CT Scan, multiple Oral/Facial Imaging procedures, and Saliva Testing. None of these were explained to me before, during, or after my appointment. No treatment plan was shown to me. No cost estimate was provided. I was never told any of this was being done. My insurance denied all of it. Cigna flagged the saliva test as "not a dental service" and the CT scan as simply not covered neither of which are standard for a new patient checkup. I am now formally disputing these charges with the practice, Smile Generation corporate, and the Georgia Board of Dentistry. I would caution anyone especially new patients to ask for a written cost estimate and treatment plan BEFORE allowing any procedures to be performed here.

Went in to finish my bridge procedure today. We started this early November 2025, I went in to get…read moremy porcelain/ main bridge in but had tooth sensitivity since my visit in December (after the dentist shaved down my tooth a 2nd time) when the dentist came in she looked at my x-ray FROM THE INITIAL VISIT and told me she was going to refer me to a specialist because on the same tooth, she shaved down a second time I might need a root canal due to me. "grinding"my teeth which I found extremely disturbing seeing as how we already started the bridge process from the same x-ray that she was showing me. If she knew I needed a possible root canal for the surrounding teeth, why in the world would she have started the procedure or completed it for a bridge? Why now am I having to go to a specialist for that said tooth after I paid all this money? Why not have created a treatment plan for said teeth then if there was that big of an issue?? Every time she came in to speak it was something new and different! I feel as though she shaved down too much hence the new sensitivity. I asked for a plan for now and then, nothing was given and I was told there was nothing in my chart as well for previous visits. I asked for my X-rays so I can go elsewhere and was given the complete run around. They only tried to give me select X-rays (not even the one we went over today!!) I had to ask for my MA who's been assisting the dentist and she then got the job done with at least said X-ray. I wanted my complete medical records and was told they couldn't give them today due to "new policies" going to get a second opinion ASAP. Requested my dental records back in January from the office on my last visit and never received them. When I called in regards someone told me they wouldn't release them due to the fact that they added a deductible payment AFTER my appointment that I wasn't aware of but according to HIPPA laws it's total illegal to withhold my records even for that reason. Will be contacting HIPPA as well as Georgia Dentistry Board in regards to them withholding my records as well as the nasty treatment I got from the medical assistant this morning. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE!!! If things don't go a good way they give you the run around and CLEARLY with hold your medical records which we as patients have rights to. Luckily I recorded the WHOLE interaction the day I went to sign papers because they gave me funny business the last appointment I went to.

Therefore will be reviewing both Dentists together. I love this dentist, and all the staff. They are so wonderful. They always remember whats been going on in my life and are happy to see me. They really treat me more like a friend then a client. Every time I go I noticed one or two improvements over my last visit. But that not to say that anything was ever lacking. It just seems like they work hard to have the best employees,equipment and procedures. For example this last visit they upgraded to a system which uses snake camera in order to take pictures. It is very very nifty! The camera feed is uploaded real time to a monitor right over head so that both the hygienist and the patient can see what is going on with your teeth, gums etc... I really like this new feature because it makes me so much more comfortable to be able to see clearly exactly what my dentist is explaining to me about the inside of my own mouth! Just recently Dr, Gowasack moved his office into a joint office with Dr. Wayne Kerr (DDS). Both share the same equipment, and many of the same staff. I can not personally speak for Dr. Kerr but I absolutely would recommend either Dentist. They are superb and really treat you like family here. I have to say not having met Dr. Kerr I like him already. His office is very very nice. It has nice blue ocean/sea/beach decor every where. Pretty fish line the shelves and the bathroom is even decked out with beautiful sea shell decorations. The Lobby has very nice comfortable couches and even has a keurig coffee machine!! If you are anywhere near Conyers I recommend this Dentistry 300 percent! If I am willing to drive almost forty minutes to have someone dig around in my mouth, then that is saying something. I always leave with a smile, and a clean one at that!!

For the last several years, my initial appointment was only x-rays and I would have to make a different appointment for my cleaning. Imagine going to get your nails done but they only looked at them and sent you home with a later date for your manicure.

Dr. Arrue and his lovely staff are wonderful! I will be happy to return to this office.read more
