Sub par customer service and horrible food! Last night was my first time visiting this restaurant and it is brand new so, I expected a long wait. To my surprise, the wait was not very long at all even though the drive thru was wrapped around the building. We placed our order at the speaker and less than 5 minutes later, we pulled to the window to pay and both orders were incorrect. Then, the cashier gives us the total for the second order, we hand her the card and she charges for the first. Everything was all messed up, the sides were wrong and they do not give any sauces unless you ask. The tea tasted like sugar water, the chicken tenders were so hard that they were not edible and the french fries were burned on the ends. Six total meals that were completely inedible. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant, it was just a waste of money and I ended up having to go elsewhere for food after. read more

I didn't have a great experience. First of all, it took a while to get my order in. I waited about 5 minutes before someone asked if they could take my order... and there was only a couple cars in line. Then when I got to the window after 15 minutes the lady was rude to me. I also ordered a large coke and got a small. So... all in all they won't see me again. read more

It was so awful. The manger Ashley took our order apparently and got it completely wrong. So we went back in the line and had to talk to 3 people and they couldn't understand what was wrong and I tried to tell them so many times and tried to give the food back (which ik covid they can't) i just wanted them to remake my whole tray because it was so wrong. Upon arrival I was greeted with a packed parking lot and a line that seemed to wrap around the building however I did not let that deter me I walked in and was greeted with the the best customer service I could expect from a place this packed the cashier was very polite and took the time to make sure she got my order right I got the huge burger cook out style with cheese and a beef quesadilla my friend got the spicy chicken with onion rings and cheese bites the wait for the food was incredibly short within minutes of ordering we were at the table eating the part of specting the food everything seemed to be as it should the cheese bites were deep fryed laid to the side and have that crispity crunch biteback action the onion rings eh they were there but didn't bring much to the party like the cheese bites. Now on to the bad looking at my burger it gave me that soft bun action two meaty meat patties that brought the beef game but it was not what I ordered I ate it anyway because it was my after workout meal but I would have liked to know what I ordered taste like and I can understand with the crowd things happen which is why I can only give it a four-star review read more

I actually love this place!! I visited Birmingham a couple of weeks back for the volleyball SWAC tournament and my friends and I ate this place 3 nights in a row!! Each time we got something different and it was just as great as the last!! The prices are unbeatable!! Just a Texas girl in love with the Cookout!! Hope to see y'all in Texas soon read more

When thinking of restaurants that serve hot dogs, I had to do some research and I learned that one of my favorite fast-food restaurants, Cook Out, served hot dogs. I enjoy that Cook Out offers a lot of food for a very reasonable price. I went through the drive-thru and got the tray, and chose two hot dogs, fries, a chicken quesadilla, and a "huge" sweet tea. I had never gotten the hot dogs from Cook Out before, so I got them all the way which meant that the hot dogs were covered in onions, chili, and slaw. All of the food was very tasty. The service was quick through the drive-thru, and I had no complaints. The employees were wearing masks and gloves, so that was nice to see. As far as sustainability goes, the food and drink were both served in Styrofoam containers, along with plastic utensils, and a plastic straw. In summary, Cook Out offers a lot of food for a reasonable price, and the hot dogs are pretty good. Sustainability could be improved, however. read more

This place is always hit or miss. It's always my go to for when everything else is closed. I will say that this is a really big plus when comparing to other places nearby. They have a really late closing time. With this location being a popular one on a busy road it is always busy. They have two lines available for ordering. If you are in a hurry the drive through is not a good option for you. You will be in line for about 15 -20 minutes depending on how busy they are. Maybe try their walk up ordering window. I usually order the same thing. A cookout style burger with cheese fries. But this time when I got my order it was not that. I got a quesadilla and a hotdog. On some occasions I have gotten the wrong order. But I didn't think it would happen again. I should have checked before I drove off. This may have to do with the two lines of ordering and people telling the window what line they were actually in. Overall you get what you pay for. The food is pretty cheap and the service is what you would expect with the amount of business they do at once. read more

I went to Cookout around 11:00 AM and there was some kind of servicing tank truck blocking the entrance where you enter to park, so I had to back up and go in the wrong way against traffic. I thought if this palace was under good management, there would be no servicing truck blocking the entrance at lunchtime. Got in and ordered my food. Was disappointed in the hamburger as I thought it would have tasted like a burger cooked outside on a charcoal grill, but it didn't at all, was like a burger fried in a pan and was very bland. The milkshake was like a Wendy's frosty and could not drink it through a straw. This place is overrated, but it was my first time and had to give it a try. Will not be going back. read more

The majority of the employees wear their masks over their chins or simply do not wear masks at all in and around the drive thru window. I've always like cookout but after experiencing this twice now I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I've been at this location several times, and usually the food is pretty good. However, two of the employees only wore their masks over their chin, and a third employee didn't have a mask on at all. They also gave me the wrong order, but I just ended up throwing the food away. I wouldn't recommend eating here until after the pandemic is over. read more

When I walked in the place was a complete trash dump. There was trash on every single table that did not have a patron already occupying the space. Then I procedded to move tables together for my family to sit at. At which point I was very rudley greeted by staff telling me i could not move the table to accomodate my family. So one of the four people standing at the register should be walking around ensuring tables are clean. I guess you can't expect much out of register employees anymore. As much as looked forward to the food, it was disappointing. The name of the restaurant is really enticing. Really great idea! The menu draws you in with a wide variety of food to choose from. You have a selection of chicken breast, hamburgers, barbeque, many milkshakes, and different tray combos! All of what you expect to find at a cookout you'd like to be at. Prices were competitively low. But eventually the dissatisfaction started with the long wait time. Only one car ahead of myself was waiting on food. For only two cars to be in line, there should have been a greater effort to get food out at a quicker pace. After all, I did arrive in line at the very start of lunch time, which means the staff should have been prepared. Meanwhile, I got to the front window and was able to pay. Staff was friendly and service felt unrushed. She wore her mask and gloves, due to the pandemic. For a hot dog and Cajun fries my food came to a total less than $5.On the way home, I noticed leakage of the hot dogs contents through the paper bag. So, then comes the taste and it was flat .There weren't any special sauces placed on top of the hot dog, nor spice in the hotdog itself. The Cajun fries were better, although there wasn't many to go alongside the hot dog. The hot dog was served in a foam container, with a paper bag for carrying. The restaurant has great potential! But I think it's going to have to start with revamping the menu, winning back those previous customers, potential customers and boosting performance of workers. read more
