We ordered a different tray than we normally do and asked for a shake instead of a drink. The tray price was $6.59 and a shake instead of a drink for $1.20. We got an additional drink for $2.19. Our total was $11.31. I questioned the total, and she informed me the burger had an up charge of .59. When we got our receipt, I noticed the shake was $3.39. Upon questioning the employees, trying to understand, one of them got a horrible attitude, stomping off, calling for a manager. The manager satisfactorily explained how the receipt was broken down, and we thanked him for his time. But not before we informed him of his employees horrible customer service. While the Brand is good, this store is terrible with customer service when they make mistakes. Went through drive thru and they messed up a burger order, gave the the wrong one. I had to park, walk in, ask for the right one. Meanwhile I saw 20 other orders get served while waiting for my one burger to get fulfilled. Message received: if they make a mistake, fixing the mistake goes to the bottom of their list. People go through the drive thru for convenience and accuracy, it's ok to make mistakes, but don't be terrible by compounding the mistakes. Use common sense and learn how to apologize because you're in a service business. And then fix the problem on the double. You're better than that guys. read more

I have eat here before on other visits and I would normally recommend Cook Out to others for a great place to dine. I love the food here and it has a great taste, but I'm really concerned that we could get sick from the nastiness of this store. With today's visit something has changed and our dining experience was completely different from the past! Upon entering the front door we noticed that trash was all over the floors, we couldn't even find a clean table that wasn't dirty with food and drink all over the top. The restrooms were not clean and the trash cans in the dining room were nasty, I didn't even want to touch the trash cans in order to put my trash away. Management really needs to look into this Cook Out store in Rome, Ga. My wife and I were very disappointed in our visit today and wished we had chose somewhere else to dine for lunch. Their food is consistently good for the price, and I have had very few poor experiences here. However, they messed up my order a couple weeks ago and I called them. They said to come by that night or the next day and they would fix it. I went by the next night and they only wanted to replace the one part. By the time I ordered the rest of the order, it was almost as expensive as if they hadn't fixed anything. Not to mention I couldn't eat my food the night before, and my time. I expect that when given the opportunity to fix something, you shouldn't skimp on customer satisfaction. The young man there informed me however, in an annoyed tone I might add, that the policy was to only replace the one item. He said I could call corporate though. I did, and they apologized, sent me two free tray coupons, and said they would inform the manager that their policy was to replace the FULL order; not just parts. This in mind, I was happy to be fully satisfied as a regular customer. However, less than two weeks later they make the same mistake and when I called them they said they wouldn't replace the full order, so I will be calling corporate again. First off, I pulled up to the window gave her my money & within a minute or so she gave me my milkshake.. I didn't see my change, but I looked on top of my lid & all of my change was on there. Right when she handed me my shake, she shut the window. I was livid. It sounds like a small thing to get upset about but money is sooo dirty. I don't want it all over my lid, it seemed very disrespectful. Secondly, my milkshake was so hard that I could not suck it through the straw. It was more like ice cream & it did not have a taste to it at all! After being open for a few months, we decided to try this new fast food place. Interesting inside decor with various wall coverings and local football jerseys. You order at the counter and they call out your number when your order is ready. I tried the "famous" burger and it was okay--a little better than the average fast food burger. Fries were tasty. It is priced very reasonably which will be an attraction for large families. We will probably give it a second try but right now there are other options and new restaurants in the area that have opened, so it may be awhile before we get back. read more

This is an up and coming fast food chain. It is very friendly and offers not only good food but a wide selection of it. The amount of food you get for your money is great. It is a value that can't be beat. They also do milkshakes better than almost anyone. Although I do wish they offered different sizes in the shakes.
