This was my first visit to Cookout, and overall it was an interesting experience. The menu can be a little confusing at first glance because there are so many options packed onto the board, but the gentleman at the register was very patient and walked me through it step by step, which I appreciated. The dining area itself appeared clean, and their posted health inspection score was a 94. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and cheddar cheese bites, along with a half sweet tea and half unsweet tea. Everything came out hot. The cheddar cheese bites were especially good and full of flavor. The fries were hot but a little underdone and not very crispy, although they still tasted good. The half-and-half tea was excellent and very refreshing. One major downside, however, was the condition of the men's restroom. It was in rough shape, with splattered soap all over the vanity area and generally poor cleanliness. It was unpleasant enough that it would make me hesitate to bring my wife or family here unless that situation improves. So overall: friendly service, hot food, and some tasty items on the menu--but the restroom cleanliness needs serious attention. Fix that, and this place would make a much better impression. read more

I was traveling and stopped at this location for lunch. I went through the drive thru so cant comment on the inside. I ordered a burger tray, cheese bites and onion rings. I got more cheese bites this time, so that was great. I got a sweet tea, which is always good at Cook Out and treated myself to a chocolate blueberry milkshake. Stopped here today just a little bit after 12 noon. Went through drive through, took very little time, probably less than 5 minutes from ordering to getting food. stopped in here for a quick burger since we are doing carnivore and we were highly disappointed in the flavor along with the size of the burger for the money. you have to pay additional.75 for a cheap processed cheese but you can get onions pickles and lettuce free makes no sense. next time it will be mcdonalds read more

Usually a cook out gets a 3 or less from me, but this place was quick, clean and the workers were very kind. The food was hot when served and our order was perfect (even with all our toppings). We ate inside and the interior looks newly decorated. Our table was wiped down before we ate and the bathroom was okay. The cashier was energetic and attentive. As a regular customer iv never had any issues with my order till August 30 around 9-10 pm at night I waited a very long time just for 2 jalapeno cheese fries with bacon and chili along with a sprite and sweet tea they never gave me also had the drive thru back up people blowing their horn from waiting too long because instead of getting the orders done they was goofing around also too the Cook out mangers I'd suggest getting a new speaker couldn't hear well unless it's your employee who wasn't speaking loud enough read more

My boyfriend stops at this cookout every road trip north of Wilmington, said he's never had problems before. We were headed to the lake and stopped for dinner- cookout was busy as it constantly is. Once we got up to the menu and were ordering it was like the girl in the window wasn't paying attention, she asked us to start ordering and then followed up with 5 "what's". We ordered the hotdog tray, and a chicken strip tray. Neither of which came out in a tray. When ordering the hotdog tray she asked what toppings we wanted. We asked what the toppings were and to that she said "just tell me what you want and I'll tell you weather your can have it or not." We just went with chilli, ketchup, and mustard which I'm pretty sure is the normal cookout way. Anyway when we got to the window and were ready to accept our order we asked for honey mustard for the chicken strips the girl in the window looked right at us and closed the window. No sauce. And then.. we got to the hotdogs and they were soggy as hell smothered in chili. OH and they did not give us a single napkin. Also the price of a cookout tray is 3.99$ we ordered 2 trays. On our way back home after a beach trip to Cherry Grove. Stopped by for early supper. Horrible customer service. I waited near the door so I could look at the menu before stepping up to the counter. The young girl was constantly rolling her eyes to another employee walking back to the counter from the restroom area. It was 5 of us 2 adults and 3 kids. Obviously we were all together nobody else in the restaurant. One girl started our order while another tried to take one of our kids orders. I said no we are all together she proceeded with the order. We all went to one register and what do you know the one order the 2nd employee took we did not get it. My husband confronted the manger and she replied that this isn't the first time her employees have behaved this way. I wouldn't recommend at all. Great cookout! Some cookouts are terrible, some great. This one is right off of I-40, making it super accessible from the highway and a perfect stop during a trip. It's an eat in version, which is a great plus to be able to get out and take a break. They have the typical cookout menu, which is always great. They have some pretty good service, excellent when compared to other cookouts. I haven't been though the drive thru, but I saw them working quickly to get orders out, so I figure it is just as great as the inside!! read more

This is the cleanest, biggest cook out I've ever seen!! It's gorgeous and so clean inside! (Must be brand new!) it made for the perfect rest stop on our road trip since it had such nice indoor seating! I ordered the tray with a burger, corn dog and hush puppies. The staff is friendly and they comprehend decent. They seem to be going to fast to listen to what you want. They have got two of my orders wrong but over all my food is always hot and they're usually pretty quick and convenient. Their milkshakes are bomb & so is their burgers! I love that my food is always hot that's key in fast food imo! Hopefully they'll consistently get my orders correct. There's more pros than cons here. It's decent for the area. read more

After driving all the way from Wallace to this cookout location and placing our order we where greeted with the rudest customer service ever. The you lady at the window had a very aggressive attitude after asking for straws and specifically asking her that the drink was in fact Diet Coke and not regular Coke because of diabetes. We stopped by this restaurant on our way to the beach. We ordered a total of 4 milkshakes, however it took about 10 minutes to get them. The line did not move, doesn't even compare to Chick-fil-A.
