Great deal for all this food. With this we also got a free item of our choice at checkout. We ate the pastries with our morning coffee and they were delicious. The owner is amazing. Helped us with selections. Great customer service. I wish I lived here to keep coming back.

She told us Her father learned his bakery skills in Germany and handed down those skills to his children. She's gave us some recommendations of her pastries and I purchased 1/2 a dozen. I ate a lemon danish and it was delicious. This was the best danish I ever had because it wasn't overly sweet, and it had a soft texture. Carstens is by far the best German Bakery in the State of Idaho. The prices were reasonable, customer service was great and their donuts and pastries tasted amazing! I highly recommend stopping at Carstens if you want good quality pastries.

We have seen the bakery for a while and finally went in. Everything in the cases looked great so we…read moredecided to try a couple of things. We selected a shrimp Thai soup and a chicken curry hand pie. We also got a goat cheese and fig danish and german cinnamon roll. We had the soup and hand pie tonight and were very pleased. The soup had lots of shrimp and was spicy and flavorful without being too hot. The hand pie was delicious. The pastry was so light and flaky with a delightful butter taste. The curry chicken had a very good flavor and the combination of the two was terrific! I had a small bite of the german cinnamon roll before dinner and, again, the pastry was light and flaky with a great butter flavor. There was a good amount of cinnamon and brown sugar in the roll. I'm going to have more of it later tonight! The young lady behind the counter (I don't remember her name) was very helpful, describing the options well. We chatted with her while we made our choices. We took our food to go so I didn't see the entire store - next time. And there will be a next time!
