After having left the original review, the owner, Heidi, contacted me immediately. She offered options to help fix the haircut, including bringing him back to clean it up or a free haircut whenever we were ready. We made an appointment online for baby's first haircut ($26.95) at 5:45 pm on Friday, 8/23/24, with Heidi. Making the appointment was super easy. We got there early and she was able to start us early! They asked which show we preferred on Netflix or Disney and we chose Bluey. Luckily, my 17-month-old was super chill and was so preoccupied with the cool racecar chair that he didn't even need the TV! Heidi showed him the spray bottle before she sprayed his hair. She was so fast, we were in and out in less than 20 minutes! My son came in looking like a hot mess and left looking super dapper! We've been to this location twice and I think it's our new spot. My son is instantly at ease with the kids friendly atmosphere, a small play structure inside and the cool seats. He's not always the best at staying still but we still get good looking, quality cuts. Staff is professional and friendly, and of course sweet to the kids! We love Heidi! She was so great with our 1 year old! It was the first time he was getting a cut here so we didn't know what to expect but we loved it. There are fun little cars for the kids to sit in during hair cuts and each station has a TV so they can be distracted with their favorite show! I came here with my 2 year for her first hair cut! We made an appointment online which was super easy to do. Erica cut my daughter's hair and did great! My daughter picked out which seat she wanted to sit in and Erica put some tv on for her so she would sit still. I just asked for a trim and got exactly what I wanted. At the end of the haircut Erica let my daughter pick out a bow for her hair and gave her a balloon as well. Very appreciative of how kind and gentle she was with my kid. Possibly the worst haircut of all time? My son looks horrible. The lady asked if we liked the length and we said yes, and then proceeded to continue cutting. At the end she asked, "'not too short?" Ma'am what are you going to do, lol? Yes it's too short! The bangs are like 4 different lengths! Each layer of the fade is visible! I do better at home, which is not something I thought possible. I came here with my 7 month old for his first haircut. I was empty but the hair dresser was in a rush. He was crying and instead of pausing, she kept on powering through instead of giving the baby a break. She quickly tried to finish the haircut. And when we finally took a moment and got up to stop his tears, we turned around and she was cleaning up the seat and was done with him. He was left with an uneven line in the back and his one side burn was all messed up. And the top was too short. I would not recommend this place for infant hair cuts. We LOVE cookie cutters! Always a great cut and everyone is so awesome with my little guys! I have 1 year old twins and a 2 year old and they manage to keep everyone happy and calm and give them the cutest cuts. Brought my 13 month old for his first haircut. Given the ongoing pandemic I had tried to push out getting a haircut for him but I finally bit the bullet and made an appt at cookie cutters after reading rave reviews. Making the appt was easy on their website. I got an appt confirmation call the morning of the appt. When we arrived mid day for our appt there were no other clients around which I was thankful for. I was impressed with the sanitary precautions this salon took! They had the process nailed down. Sanitizers every where. Contactless checkin. The salon itself was clean with some amazing chairs that kids can enjoy. Each station had a tv to watch cartoons if desired. My son was extremely uncooperative and cranky so I elected to have him on my lap. I had selected Sequathia as our stylist based on reviewed and I am so glad I did! She was calm, collected and showed immense patience with the lil one who was thrashing about, while efficiently working on shaving his hair. I appreciated that she provided me with a gown to protect my clothes. Though my munchkin cried all through the appointment before we knew it we were done! Sequathia ensured all of his hair was evenly shaved off! I had wanted the first haircut package where they give you a lock of hair and a post haircut picture but abandoned the idea quickly because the boy would not have posed happily for a pic. Though Sequathia did give me his lock of hair to take home and didn't charge me for the first haircut package. I wish I had a chance to take pictures of the salon but the baby wouldn't let me. We have been here five times. I will say that Q is really, really fantastic with kids. She really has a gift. Unfortunately we've also had to schedule with other stylists when Q is unavailable and the results have been disastrous. Not only in the end product but also their attitudes. My son is 22 months so I also completely understand the challenge but today was the last day we will visit this location. I could have done a better job on my son's hair. I'm embarrassed to say we paid for this service. There are large gaps all over his hair and his bangs are so bad we just have to laugh. Thankfully it's just hair! If you've never been, I would suggest you request Q. Unfortunately even Q, the child whisperer, couldn't restore our faith given the God awful haircuts (and service) we've received at this location. Never booking again. I had a 2:15 appointment with Erika. Drove an hour and fifteen minutes to get there. We left the house within enough time to arrive ten minutes early however there was no way to plan for the accident on hwy 20 that caused huge delays. We literally arrived at 2:17(two minutes after the start of our appointment time) and was told that our son could not be serviced. The receptionist (who was extremely nice) asked about the five minute grace period and the stylist replied that she couldn't abide by that today. She also informed us that the owner wasn't there. You would think that when working with children, there would be some grace or additional time allotted for the unforeseen things like diaper changes or the need to calm your child especially if it's their first cut. I brought my autistic son to "Ashley" to receive a haircut and she was so patient and considerate to his sensory sensitivities. I had much anxiety about taking my toddler to get his first hair cut. I wanted to take him somewhere that catered to kids. There are not any kid friendly barber shops near my location. I found cookie cutters online and fell in love with the pics and was delighted by the reviews. Still it was quite a drive from my home. Reluctantly I took the hour drive to cookie cutters to ensure my little one had a proper first hair cut experience and I was not disappointed. The owner and Sharron were so welcoming, patient, and ensured my baby was comfortable. I truly appreciate the time and attention Sharron took on my sons hair cut and being so understanding of my lack of knowledge. She did not make me feel foolish for not knowing anything about how I wanted my sons hair to be styled, as I wasn't sure what was appropriate for a toddler under 2. She talked me through the appropriate cut for his age and did an awesome job. My little beau looks so handsome. I will definitely be going back for his touch ups. I highly recommend going here over the traditional barber shops for your little one. Also my son absolutely loves the car barber chairs ! I gave this place a try mainly because we really needed to get his hair cut this weekend, and Salon Red Kids in Town Brookhaven (where we used to go) always requires appointments several days in advance. I made the appointment through their website and picked a time that worked best for us. Sabine happened to be available then and she was wonderful! She took the time to greet myself and my son. Then she let him pick a seat, a tv show, and asked what about the style we wanted. She did a good job cutting his hair and also getting him to follow directions during the process. She was so patient and encouraging with him! Check out process was easy and they have lollipops and balloons for the kids. The facility is well maintained and simple. They have just one small section of hair products for sale (unlike SalonRed Kids, where half their store is retail items). They also have a small slide to entertain kids. On the way home, my son said "I want to go back there again!!" I encourage all you moms and dads out there to give Cookie Cutters a try! Their online booking tool is so convenient to use. We brought our son for his first haircut here. Everything was great. Salon takes everyone's temperature before letting you in and has hand sanitizer readily available. They had cute little cars for the kids to sit in and a tv with kids shows directly in front of the spot to keep the kids distracted. The woman who cut our son's hair worked quickly and efficiently so he sat still for most of the haircut other than a momentary cry over getting his hair wet. Yet again I took the time to book the first two appointments of the day to avoid crowds for both of my kids and they mess it up. I even took a screenshot to prove I had two booked appointments in case this happened again and it did. They called for our reminder yesterday and I said they should be confirming two appointments - one for both of my kids. She said they had given the second slot away to someone else. I told them to cancel my daughters appointment and we would find another salon in the future because this wasn't the first time this had happened. I wake this morning to get an email reminding me my son has an appointment (the one she said didn't exist yesterday) and so I had to call back, say we wouldn't be there & I would file fraud charges if they tried to charge us for a no show appointment due to their inability to handle appointments for the same family back or back or read their own schedule. Our haircuts that were successful one time with them before were okay so they get a star more than the hassle this time has caused. read more

Had my sons second appointment here today. We checked in at our time and they immediately took us in. My son had just woken up from a nap and was a little cranky. Although he was crying in the beginning, he did manage to stay still. Ashley had cut his hair today. She quickly trimmed it was done in less than 3 minutes. There was no questions on what style I wanted, whether I wanted his hair spiked up or to the side. His hair was uneven and choppy in the bangs and by his ears. One side is shorter while the other side is still touching his other ear. The first appointment we had was with Sequathia. She did an amazing job with him. She took her time and made sure he was comfortable. She took the time to make sure I got everything I expected. Because of her I will be giving Cookie Cutters another try. We had a 6 p.m. appt. We arrived at 5:30 (we were in the area) in case they could take us early. They couldn't, so we said we'd be back at 6. When we came back, we had to tell them again that we had an appt at 6. They (there were two working) said that we would be next. Well, when they both were done, one took a kid that cane in after us with an appt...and the other took one of two kids would didn't have appts. When my husband told them again that we had an appt, we were told that they were running "a little behind". At this point, it was already 6:15. I can be patient and wait 10-15 minutes (although this shouldn't happen at kids' hair cutting places), but to tell me that I am now going to have to wait 30 or so minutes so that you can first take a kid without an appt!? My son got his first haircut here and they did an amazing job! I know it's not easy to cut hair on a 9 month old with him moving around, but they were patient and even blew bubbles to keep him happy. It was my very first time here and my last for sure ! I took my 8 month old baby for his 1st haircut and it didn't go nothing like I thought it would be. First of all the 2 ladies that "helped" us were making a huge deal bc we didn't make an appt when it clearly says on the page that "Walk-ins are welcome." So I was really confused about that . While she was cutting my son's hair I asked her to go a little shorter, she got so mad and she even said "You know what ? when you first come in and you tell us how you want the hair that's how we're going to do it , don't be changing it in the last minute!" She even said that she was going to give me an FYI lesson which I totally thought it was really RUDE. Especially bc it's my first baby and I have no freaking idea on haircuts! I wish I'd remember her name , all I know she was a huge Africa American lady with HUGE nails . It was a horrible decision going there , since they're "experts" with kids I though it would be the best place to go to but I was sooo wrong . They all need to learn manners in that place and how to treat costumers with respect. If they hate dealing with people then find another job that suits you ! Cookie cutters was very clean and my son enjoyed playing on the playscape while he waited for his haircut. He cried and wiggles while sitting on my lap and the hairstylist was very patient with him. However, his haircut looks awful. This is one day after his haircut. I know it's difficult to cut a squirming 2 1/2 year old boy's hair and his hair has some loose curls but you'd at lease hope it would be straight in the front. read more

I came in with my son to get his haircut. The lady said she would be with me shortly as she was finishing a haircut. Then a lady walked in with her two kids early for her appointment. At that point she said nothing to me and took that person early for her appointment. Mentioning nothing to me that I would have to wait. Then their next appointment came in so then the lady who had the next appointment said I could go in front and the hair cutter said if you do that you give up your spot. She mentioned nothing about how long we would have to wait so after 45 minutes I realized I wasn't going to be seen so I left. Such a wonderful place for a kids haircut. There was no wait and our 14 month old was treated like a prince. He was fastened in his Spider-Man Car and equipped with his choice movie on tv.
