I paid for hand delivery of a birthday cookie but the cookie delivery was cancelled the day the cookie was due to be delivered. Supposedly the driver was sick and no one else could drive it. However, the owner interestingly pointed out that the delivery was 92 miles away. Why even mention it? Is it too far to deliver suddenly? Then the owner offered to have it delivered 3 days later by Fed-Ex. No offer to hand deliver at a later date. I believe they looked at the location that morning and decided it was not cost effective to deliver a cookie 92 miles away on the weekend between Christmas and New Years. One Job. Deliver a cookie. I have ordered from Cookies by Design before and have been thrilled with the end product, so I ordered a bookie bouquet for a baby shower that I was attending. There was some confusion due to chosen delivery date and the basket was hand delivered a week early. (The basket itself is absolutely adorable and exactly what I asked for- just too early.) I know normally we would never complain about an EARLY delivery, but I had chosen a specific date for a specific event for that reason. I wrote a strongly worded email to the Cookies by Design headquarters who then forwarded my emails to the East Northport, NY, location. I had spent a lot of money and just wanted to feel like I was heard. Within a few hours I received a call from Cindy at the East Northport location who left me an extremely apologetic voicemail and the promise to resend the cookie bouquet on the specific date that I had originally indicated. By Murphy's Law, my friend who the baby shower was for got in an extremely serious accident where she had a severe head injury and we ended up having to cancel the baby shower. So, if Cookies by Design were going to send the new bouquet on the real date, it would not benefit me (to no fault of them!) When I called Cindy to explain, not only was she understanding, but she was sympathetic and is working with me to get the bouquet delivered at the correct time. I would use Cookies by Design in East Northport again with any gift needs. They are professional and helpful, their products are gorgeous and colorful, and they clearly go above and beyond in customer service. The baskets arrived on the required date however the entire centerpiece where made up of white jerseys with the number 90. Not at all what I ordered. "Just pull out the jerseys and replace with appropriate cookie"... cookies arrived without sticks and some were broken or poorly frosted. This is my second time ordering from cookies by design. The first time I ordered from this place I was very satisfied. However the second time I ordered, I was displeased. They usually print out a card and write down your personal message. The handwriting was sloppy and I prefer if the personal message was printed clearly. Also, I got a dozen of cookies for a promo code and it wasn't wrapped like it was last time. It didn't have a bow or a decorative. Happy with my first order for my sister ! I would've given it 5 stars if the icing wasn't smudged on the sides and also my sister hates oatmeal raisin and they put half the assortment of oatmeal raisin. I should've called before hand to let them know but it's ok we gave the raisin away! Another thing I noticed was the icing wasn't set that much and when we took the plastic wrapping off , the icing did smudge onto the wrapping. I placed an order with Cookies by Design to be delivered this week in celebration of my fiancé finally completing a big exam she has been prepping for. I chose this company because my sister has received cookie bouquets from them in the past and the cookies are delicious. I actually look forward to them each year when she receives them. I was really excited to have them be delivered to my fiancé because she also can appreciate a good cookie. Unfortunately my experience has been horrendous. After placing the order a month ago, I was waiting for a confirmation email or some sort of notice related to a successful delivery- but nothing. So I called around 5:30pm on the date of delivery to inquire. The girl who answered was unprofessional and in truth, uninterested in my problem. The cookies hadn't been delivered and apparently the driver has returned at 3:30pm. But no cookies. The girl on the phone asked how I knew they weren't delivered by saying "so what, the girl didn't thank you or something??" Rude. Unnecessary. And not the kind of "assistance" I want when I just paid $65 for cookies. After being given the run around I finally demanded I be refunded and the cookies be sent the following day (which annoys me but whatever). Yesterday the cookies are delivered- a day late which I would have overseen except... the bouquet was destroyed. Broken sticks that are intended to hold the cookies in place, wrapping that was all torn apart. Not to mention, it had a note on it...for me, not my fiancé. It is clear that this bouquet was left rolling around in the truck and never delivered. It is also clear that instead of making a new basket like they told me they would, they just gathered the old one and threw it on my fiancé's stoop. When I called to complain I only got a voicemail- that was returned today via a nasty message from an employee essentially saying "I don't have anything else to say about the situation". I've been ordering cookies by design for upward of 15 years. This is the second time my mom ordered for me from this location as a birthday present. Mom paid approx $20 for hand delivery. These arrived out of whack in a box with UPS ground on it. When I called to inquire I was told first that the driver was on leave and they were down to just one driver but when the manager came on the phone she said the other driver was out too. So, the story doesn't even add up. The cookies don't taste fresh. The manager was rude and did not care to listen about my experience; she only wanted to defend why they weren't hand delivered (even though no one notified my mom and she was billed as if they'd been hand delivered). I requested mom gets refunded the difference. We will never order from this location again. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

This place gave me the worst experience I ever had. I placed an order with the company for a sympathy basket and had the order delivered, my card was charged the same day (4/28.) I checked my card statement on 5/2 and my card was charged a second time for the same amount! My initial thought was that the transaction was processed a second time in error so I contacted the recipient to see if they got a second item. I was told by the recipient that the cookies arrived broken so they contacted the company to have them replaced free of charge. I contacted them immediately and was given the run around, transferred back and forth from corporate to the location multiple times and was told "We're really busy with Mother's Day coming up so I don't have time to look into this." Finally I started emailing and calling and I'm literally being ignored. My initial transaction was sent through after pay and was declined because I had the wrong card information in so the company is insisting that After Pay is who charged me. How could that be possible if they have the wrong card information on file?? They won't even look into it, just insisted that they don't have record of the transaction. Now the owner is ignoring my emails and messages, but telling corporate they spoke with me already. ALL I WANT IS A CALL BACK AND MY MONEY RETURNED ON MY CARD!!! It's now been over a week and Im still out $86 with no answer and no help from these completely unprofessional and useless people! Im beyond disgusted. read more

I can't say enough about the staff and customer service at Cookies by Design in East Northport. The manager, Cindy, went out of her way to make sure my pan cookie was created and wrapped beautifully. (I was very specific with my request) I changed the colors, added alot of writing and it came out beautifully! I wish I took a picture to post here! It was obvious that the two girls that work there, Brittany and Victoria, enjoyed making people happy and took pride in their jobs. Although they do not ship, the girls were great in offering multiple suggestions with how I could get this giant Cookie to Binghamton in one piece. Christine called the following day and said they had no driver and the order would not be fulfilled for four days! They would ship it UPS. I think it's ridiculous that you run a business, which primarily depends on delivery service, and you only have one driver! I asked Christine if there was anyone else to drive and she responded :"No, we only have one driver, the rest are managers and cookie designers."! NEVER AGAIN. I ordered a get well sport theme decorated cookie basket with a dozen cookies on the bottom. I figure that the deco cookies prob wont taste good so y not add some good home made cookies to eat. (especially for a 10 year old ) this basket cost me $80. I was promised friday delivery. When she called me back she said she sees the order but dont know y it didnt get there and the delivery charge is a flat rate its not to get there next day (BULLSHIT) then she was apologetic said she would get it there by noon that day and to say sorry she was sending me a dozen cookies on them to my job on monday. WELL I went to visit my cousin on saturday night and I was mortified that they sent 7 sport cookies standing in a red vase (for a boy) and thats it. for $80 u must be kidding me. My "free" cookies never showed on monday neither. I called cindy again on monday afternoon to say how dissatisfied I was with this company and she had nothing to say. I live in CA and was trying to send a birthday gift to my nephews on Long Island and was having zero luck finding a business that would even call back, let alone help me choose and deliver a gift. I wish I could give this business a negative star. I live in Texas and arranged to have a cookie bouquet sent to my niece for her birthday. A month later, since I had not received a thank you from her (which I normally would have), I contacted her to make sure she received it. Turns out, she had not received any bouquet. I contacted this company and was informed that the driver said no one answered the door so he left it on the doorstep. No one tried to contact her, even though her phone number was on the order form. No one tried to contact me, even though my number was provided as well. Cindy @ Cookies by Design informed me that their drivers make so many deliveries, they do not have time to call people & that they leave deliveries on doorsteps every day since people are usually not home. Cindy did offer to send out another delivery which I declined. I will never use this location again and wish I hadn't wasted the $70.00. Side note - I had a bouquet delivered to my sister in Chicago a week later. When my sister did not answer the door or phone, he contacted me to let me know he was taking the bouquet back to the store. Turns out my sister was out of town. He held the bouquet until a safe delivery could be made. Customer service is still out there, just not at this location. read more
